Practise in a safe environment before using cam hooks on a big wall. Set up a top rope or go ‘aid bouldering’ to test them out. They may damage the rock, so stay away from established routes when practising. This video was filmed on a pile of choss, in the middle of nowhere, in Canada.

Cam hooks are the bomb. Once you get comfortable using them, it's scary how fast you'll ascend thin-ish cracks.

It's not nice when you place a small cam hook in a crack and when you are holding the carabiner below it (already with your weight on the aider) it scapes going right in the back of your hand :( I already flew 10 meter in fall, but this small fall was one of the most harm to me, it cut the back of my hand and hurt my hand muscles, took some months of physiotherapy to recover... but it's a nice piece (and when I tried the same rote where I was hurt by cam hook, the only piece who fits was a copperhead - so scare as cam hook, but I had no psychologic to try the same piece which hurt me!!!!)

You could start out with two of the Narrow (#2) size if you are short on cash or don’t know that you will use them often. The Wide (#3) will likely be the next most useful size, go for a pair of those next. With pairs you can “leap frog” them up cracks that are the same size for a good portion of the pitch.

As with All things in life, when climbing, things will either work out in your favour, or they won’t.
If you want guarantees, certainly Death is guaranteed.
Your choice is whether you choose to live life to the fullest till then.
