Designers isn’t synonymous with newbie/ basic same way niche isn’t synonymous with high end/ advanced. You don’t have to be a newbie to frags to appreciate designers.

I’ve actually seen that figure listed on more than a couple occasions. It is apparently only about 20% of us that actually wear fragrances on the regular.

The ones that I mentioned can be worn those that are in their 20's so I would encourage you to test these out and see. There are however several that I think younger person might like so are some of my recommendation.

Love the way you finish with a line up of all fragrances mentioned. Simple but effective.
My top 7 of the ones I own:

2. Bleu de Chanel parfum (would be number 1 if the performance was better.)

I know you did 7, but I honestly couldn’t do just 7. I tried, and after looking back at my collection, I ended up with 14. How you were comfortable recommending only 7 for every situation is beyond me, but kudos to you. My starter collection to recommend would have to be the following:

- Explorer
- 1 Million Elixir
- Sauvage EDP
- Eros EDP
- Dylan Blue
- Rochas Moustache
- Zadig & Voltaire This is Him
- Narciso Rodriguez BLEU Noir Edp

- Layton (or clone)
- D&G The One EDP
- D&G Pour Homme
I guess that list is a bit cliche with Eros, Dylan Blue, Sauvage and D&G represented on there like I have it, but this covers every situation, IMO. The Narciso Rod and Z&V help make this list a bit unique without being too up the middle and Rochas, Herod and 1 Million Elixir start to teeter the edges of rich as well as sweet, respectively, depending on your mood. You could get rid of Layton and Herod and the list would technically still be encompassing, but they’re both heavy hitters to me, almost classic, but that’s me personally.
You could also get rid of Moustache and personally I know I’d wear Givenchy Gentleman Boisee more, but for the purpose of this list to hit the marks for most people, that’s why Moustache is in there instead.

What an awesome designer collection, I'm honestly glad not to see Sauvage or Hermes both don't work for me and those I'm around. The only one I'd add is Ombre leather parfum as it's abit easier to wear in more occasions but fudge it, they are both freaking 🔥 which ever you choose.
I was thinking for a long time and concluded BDC EDP is a ultimate men fragrance. You can wear it all year round and on every occasion, casually and professionally, in the workplace and on a date.
Smells good and elegant.
You wouldn't believe me if I told you that Dunhill Agarwood from the Signature collection smells 90% like Tom Ford Ombre Leather + barnyardy Oud - if you are into that, you should definitely try it. Agarwood comes across fresher though, it does not have Ombre Leather's longevity but the smokiness is definitely there. So, except Ombre Leather and ADG EDP I have every single one of these in my collection, and they work very nicely. Thanks for the list man, spot on. Peace.

Had a decanter of Dior Sauvage Elixir and was instant love, will get it as soon as i can afford it.

Profondo is my signature scent. I haven’t had the chance to smell the others in the line besides Profumo but I’m sure they are all appealing.

I have to say I quite like Bleu de Chanel Parfum more and more over the EDP the longer I have it.
What would you say are the main differences? Woodier?
Unfortunately is discontinued but the best Acqua di Giò was Essenza...more marine, fresh and modern than eau de parfum, and i think the best in longevity and sillage, quite impressed! For the rest hands down, the best beginners collection for sure! I have it all ❤ ( i miss TF ombre leather, could it be similar to La Yuquawam homme?)

I own AHSEE, ADG Profumo and SBE. All are great, but if I should keep only one, AHSEE would be it. Amazing smell, infinite versatility, great performance. Another 10/10 fragrance for me is Grey Vetiver EDT (unfortunately discontinued).
I agree that the Prada L'Homme line is superior to the Dior Homme line. I also love Ombre Leather & Spicebomb Extreme, but I sold the other 4 as they were a bit bland to me.
Honestly my favourites have been mugler. Pure malt, pure havanne. Still got 97 percent full bottles of each but it was a gutshot when they discontinued that line. Also a huuuge fan of replica jazz club and D&G the one edp. Prada l homme is also up there as a super safe office scent. Theres lots but those are standouts for me as im typing this. I lean strongly to whiskey tobacco and darker scents even in summer just what my nose likes.
Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is a must‼️

You nailed it. Designers aren't beasts but after smelling 4/5 I go nose blind and its hard to pick up anything after that. That's right around the time the sales assistant comes over with the sweetest new designer and since it so sweet I can actually pick up on it. I vibe with it and she thinks Im sold. *Sales assistant: "would you like to purchase anything else or will you just be picking this up today?" *ME: "No a sample of this fragrance will be the only thing I need today, thanks". As she explains they only sell 100ml bottles, I explain that's a shame. 🤣
I also can only smell a few before my most of toast. That chemical they put in all those designers man.

In Spain Acqua di Gio profumo is also discontinued, you can only find the 75ml bottled but very expensive.

Interesting list but I'd suggest some alterations.
First things first: what bothers me most is the AdG. It might not be the best freshie overall because quite a few (I include myself here) are not so much into aquatics. I do like AdG Profumo, but that would never be my top freshie recommendation for the Summer anyway. For someone who likes citruses but not much aquatics, Dior Homme Cologne or Terre de Hermes Eau Givree would be much better freshie choices. If neither aquatics nor citruses, then Prada L'Homme L'Eau. (So instead of two Chanels I'd rather include two Pradas actually!)
I'd leave Bleu de Chanel Edp, but not the other one at all, specially when not having any Dior. Instead I'd bring in Dior Homme Intense, and I think that would be in fact the top fragrance of this bunch for most formal/elegant ocassion, even if the JPG, BDC and Prada L'Homme are no slouches in that regard themselves.
For someone who is not much into Iris for DHI, then we have a bigger problem because then also the Prada and the JPG are not great suggestions, we'd need to better replace those three. If so, I'd consider Terre de Hermes Parfum, Terre de Hermes EDT, Sauvage EDT/Edp/Parfum or even Elixir, and Montblanc Explorer.
In all of this there is only one clearly sweet and spicy fragrance: the V&R Spice Bomb Extreme (and Elixir if included replacing the iris.) For any sweet tooth that is not much into Leather, then I'd replace the Tom Ford with Stronger with You Intensely (so far I still prefer this one over the Absolutely.)

The ADG Profumo rumor has been going on for years. It’s still readily available in the states.

BDC EDP and YSL Y EDP are 2 fragrances I can’t live without. I tend to buy colognes that you can wear all seasons, wear anytime, any day, any night any occasion instead of colognes that are only good for a couple seasons or a couple occasions. I have 2 fragrances for fall and winter though. Spicebomb extreme and Burberry London for men.
These are my two day to days, except I bought the Parfum for YSL Y over the EDP, it just smelt a little more mature I guess
For a fragrance newbie this is a tremendous list. Personally I’m looking forward to April and I can get my Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme out the cupboard!
Not easy to make a designers top 10, for life! I have to admit I only have three out of ten. But I think you made a good choice! I once bought a niche fragrance and I received compliments from everyone, I had never had that before, the fragrance is Rosendo Mateu no. 5! If I could keep one fragrance for life that would be it, and I have quite a few. Thanks for another great video ❤️👍🏻

I own all but the Acqua di Gio flanker. I only have the Parfum. Great scents but for me only Allure Homme Sport eau Extreme and Ombre Leather are a real 10/10 designer.
Regarding the end: I keep looking for a fragrance suitable to use when our Golden retriever misbehave.
Many fragrances only enhance the smell, specially if they are sweet. Furthermore I look for fragrances that I don't wear myself.
I use Polo Blue, Zara 9.0 (Dior Homme like) and Eau de Lancaster which fills a room with 3 sprays.
Also tried YSL Libre but as I don't like that smell, it is not an improvement either.

I have three of the listed: Le Male Le Parfum, Blue de Chanel, and Ombre Leather. My other go to scents are Sauvage Elixir, Mercedes-Benz Club Black, Replica Jazz Club, YSL Cologne Bleue, Spice Bomb Night Vision EDP, and Givenchy Gentleman Society(The newest in my collection).

@@stevepinnock5668 I'm not refined enough to speak intellectually on the scent, it's construction or note breakdown. My #1 reason for buying it is that my wife and I went to smell some various scents and were fortunate enough to get to smell that onel She liked that one alot and I did too. So when we went back in a couple of weeks, I picked up the 100ml bottle. I've worn it quite a lot and I think it smells fantastic, and have received compliments on it. I recommend it, but I would suggest that you go try it out, and be sure to allow enough time for a proper dry down. I get a real vibe of a nice summer evening after spending the day at the beach, but that's me. I'll add that after wearing it multiple times, it is very long lasting i.g. longer than 8+ hours.
