In Japanese Mr.Mime is called Barrierd, Refering to the invisible barriers it puts up rather than it being a mime, and it's name does not reference gender. English is the only lanuage that uses the Mr honorific. Mr. Mime was introduced in Generation 1 before the gender mechanic was introduced. This leads to confusion because to us it seems like it should be a male only pokemon, but in Japanese it isn't. So this is why Mr.mime can be any gender.
33:00 The 'sun sneezing' is actually genetical , hence not all people have it. They also gave it the amazingly stupid backronym name of ACHOO, Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helioopthalmic Outburst, which i find hillariously amazing and so fucking childish at the same time x3
32:00 A major issue with flash (that I actually realized when I watched you and shen's gdq run this year) is that you can totally go into a cave, get absolutely lost, and be unable to get out (especially if you're a kid). That sort of thing isn't really good game design, to let your player put themselves in an awful spot like that. It's probably why HGSS made it mandatory - dark cave seems like an especially easy place for this to happen in given the ledges very near the entrance and it's accessibility so early in the game
the old games were really not that kid friendly. I know a lot of people my age (barely old enough to play games when red came out) who simply didn't understand the game and spent months trying to get out of the first few cities. I beat red, yellow and then gen2 and only after a lot of gen2 postgame I learned you could fly in the overworld. Nowadays, games are even "too" kid friendly and everything is tutorialed beyond repair.
being a competitive RBY player hearing you speculate on what psychic types are good made me feel insane (for the record, as speculated, Mr. Mime is probably the worst fully-evolved one, and only Hypno even manages to sink to the level of "not great in OU" otherwise). That said Normal is probably the actual best type in the game despite having more bad Pokemon
Still weird that it has a gender exclusive counterpart. But the version exclusive counterpart Pokemon don't always make a lot of sense anyway, I suppose.
@@archerelms Jynx and Mime aren't really counterparts though? Jynx is originally more tied to Electabuzz and Magmar in the fire-ice-lightning combo that JP loves so much. In fact, Mr. Mime is #122, with Scyther at #123 before Jynx, Electabuzz, and Magmar at #124-126. Mr. Mime is only version exclusive in gen IV, where its counterpart is Sudowoodo (along with their preevolutions).
Whoever made archipelago is a genuis
it's a whole team of volunteers =)

Other european languages also call it "Mr. Mime", but I never thought about female Mr mimes until now.
The editing though, that microwave joke got me good.

I have ACHOO and I absolutely hate it. If I don’t have sunglasses on when I go outside, I sneeze. 😂
The edit on the timer disappearing at 7:01 really got me lmao

would be interesting to see a two controller setup for this and see you try and multitask 😊

Chrism Emerald started with his dad's badge, rigged
Nepotism
Dad accidentally dropped one in the moving truck
Both predictions having mewtwo is wild
It could be fun to race this, but you'd have to wall of checks to be done relatively speedily.
How do you get archipelago to work with games that aren't on their page?
6:54 Nice microwave
What is the music at 41:30 ?
That's a battle theme from Scarlet / Violet DLC, against the new legendary trio (the Loyal Three).
@@Sandokiri Man, even when the games are mid, the music slaps. Gonna go listen to that right now. Thanks
Mr. Mime isn't an oversight, just a bad translation. It's original Japanese name has nothing to do with gender.

That music 🎶 good 👍
I mean, why WOULD they have decided Mr. Mime's gender based on the dub name?
What is the female NPC at the bottom of red tracker?
you mean Mr. Fuji? lmao
