No doubt, he’s been improving the last couple of years actually imo.. now he just need to get a bit more confident turning out some licks and riffs while checking the tones of a guitar. Not like Pete, but just any sort of riffage so I get an idea about how the pickups sound to a style of music f x
as much as i enjoy Rob, i feel like Lee and Pete are my new favorite duo. They have great chemistry and their playing styles complement each other very well, their videos together are always so much fun to watch

Wow !!! MIJ Fender guitars are back !!! Now I'll play my 86 MIJ Fender Contemporary Telecaster [H-S-S] ..... with a SUPER vibrato (Schaller) system. Hail MIJ designs !!! One more thing, kids: Have you checked the springs ends on this new Strats? .... Main Telecaster tone (snapy and brilliant) comes from a non-traditional spring design on my guitar. You see, the end of the spring is 3/4 bend in order to get a better grip with the fat block. I got more of this springs out of another "similar" guitar from a "friend" ( original body-neck-bridge .... and springs ). Ha, Ha, Ha .... He insisted to death to check his guitar, now it has traditional springs in it. ;)
Do you guys remember the LSR roller nut? Then they had the strat style Floyd Rose locking only trem. I wish they still made that set up. I know they have a locking only Floyd now, but it’s not the same. I also loved the arch top strat, with the side input.
I LOVE the non export Aerodyne basses. Every time I see a Fender Japan video I get a little glimmer of hope that we might see them released here again.
Haha! It’s awesome to see something I just bought on here. I’d been looking at the hybrid range for a while, my local guitar store stocked some at the same time as the American Pro II range, I tried both side by side and the Am Pro was only a tiny bit better sounding for a lot more money. I bought the Hybrid there and then
That tele was looks rad - reminds me of the 70's tele that came into a guitar shop I worked when I left school, I couldn't afford it at the time - will always be the one that got away
The use of the term "quid" doesn't confuse me, Lee. When I was a kid, I used to read this hysterical comic strip called "Andy Capp", and the man character would say things like, "Lend me a coupla quid, willyer?" I figured out for myself that he meant a couple of pounds sterling.😎
the moderns actually look like the 2005/2006 pickguard less aerodyne model crafted in japan, but they had single coils, sidejackand only came in black with cream binding, only made for 1 year,i own one of those
There's a shop in NY that has new old stock Squier Master Series guitars. It's called Vishnu Music. I've seen them, and they look exactly like these guitars, but around $400
I have never owned a Fender Guitar, had three Fendar amps. Just ordered the last Black MIJ Modern Tele in stock at Peach Guitars. Looking forward to coming home from work on Monday. 😁
How do you like it ? I too am looking at a 2019 MIJ all black tele with etched white binding. I have a black PRS DGT and if I get the MIJ black strat with etched binding there would be too much overlap between the guitars, I also own a Fender American Professional II. No tele though.
@@maximumguitarage I really like the Fender Japan Modern Telecaster. It's beautifully made, looks fantastic in gloss black with cream binding, the satin neck is super playable and has a compound radius. Bone nut, locking tuners and a pair of humbuckers that are fairly hot. It's a rosewood fretboard but stained black so looks like ebony. In fact I liked it so much I then wend down a Fender shaped rabbit hole and bought a Fender American Deluxe 2004 Stratocaster, that's a lovely guitar, and then when a mint condition used 2021 Ultra Telecaster in Texas Tea was listed I bought that as well. So having had no Fender models a year ago I've now got three and the Japanese model is every bit as good as the USA Ultra. Different types of pickups but just as well made and just as playable. Can't recommend them highly enough.
Captain, perhaps the “hybrid” name comes from the switch and pot layout being that of an LP and p/u configuration being that of the tele? Just a thought.
Got to give you props Captain! You get up in front of everyone with monster players such as the Dane with no fear. As soon as Pete played his opening runs I'd be done! 😂 Great chop guys! All you were missing was the big eighties hair! 🤘😎🎸🎶
In your demos of Telecasters with Wide Range pickups, you never adjust the tone knob. It’s always on 10. I want to hear the range it has before it starts sounding muddy. Cheers.
Tasteful playing Gents! I agree with the fact that Fender USA has stepped up and have made great efforts to improve their variety of models and configurations....However here we go again as Fender JP are still making much more appealing varieties....I give up....Go Fender JP Cheers from Newport Beach, CA.🏝
I just got a white modern and what a guitar it is. I maintain the Japanese fenders are currently much more interesting and better for the money than the usa variants
I wish I could purchase a push pull pot that is a Dual Pole Dual Throw type but locks in the middle like a On Off On switch . This would enable 3 modes 1 , Humbuckers in Series ( Off ) 2 , coil split and coil tap ( On upper ) and 3 , coil tap and coil split ( On bottom ) . I use this mod on a humbucker telecaster and have to balance the pull push pot in the middle ( off ) to engage humbuckers with no signal to series link on humbuckers .
RE THE 70’S TELECASTER CUSTOM: 1) they call them hybrid because its a 70s tele, that should have a 7.25” rad and its got a 9.5 rad - so hybrid of modern/vintage. 2) it doesn’t have a proper CUNIFE’ wide range humbucker, but the pickup still sounds good, but arguably it isn’t a true wide range ✌️
The Strats with the binding remind me a bit of the Sire Larry Carltons S7"s. Which confirms that Sire has priced their guitars on the low side for sure.
I have never heard the Captain sound so amazing. His play has truly reached a new level.

All it took is to stop playing with Rob and start playing with Pete. 🤔
Yeah I agree , Rob is just to good that it intimidated him and he feels comfortable with Pete and it makes all the difference in the world

You both did an incredible job in that intro jam. Lee just keeps getting better and better every video

Tasty lick-erage at the start. Always fun, cheers fellas.
lick-erage. Ha.
I just got one of their 1968 strat reissues. Their craftsmanship is amazing!
Lee's playing has improved so much. Very cool to see he took actually learning the instrument seriously.
I mean, it’s basically his job.
I can't believe Lee murdered Pete on-air.
R.I.P. Danish Pete

Lee, seriously, I'm waiting on an album from you. Your playing has improved so much over the past few years. Give us some good ol' Captain tunes!
I've always liked the Aerodyne basses. These look to have a similar modern vibe. That metallic blue is very nice.

That strat sounds glassy and perfect... helps to have Pete’s magic fingers of course.
I love Japanese Fenders! I have a Tele from 1987 Japan and a Fender Pawnshop from Japan. I love the necks especially.
Pete is so fricking fun to listen to!!! I love his playing.
Yeah out of all the dudes on this channels he is my favorite to listen to especially when he has a tele in his hands and a looper pedal.
The modern HH strats as a 7-String - w/ coilsplit and the volume knob out of the way -would be THE thing!
The Captain has come on a long way. And Pete’s noodle at 17:49 with the sparkle strat is smooth af
Profoundly stunning guitars! I’ve always been a fan of Japanese Fenders.
What the FRACK!? The UK gets all of the cool limited edition Fenders. Cheers!
I ❤️ that tele. Don’t know why but there is something about it that just looks classy!
These guitars sound great! Best part is how much fun u two are having. Thanks. Always a pleasure to watch.

I actually think that flake strat hybrid whatever was perhaps the best sounding strat on the channel for quite a while.
I've just bought a 1996 made in Japan fender stratocaster and it's such a good guitar.
