- Savage B22 Precision Rifle with one piece aluminum MDT Chassis First Impressions & Ammo Testing (quick review!) Just picked this thing up planning to get into PRS / NRL this coming season. I've heard a lot of good things about this rifle but also a couple of negatives from other reviews - in this video I test those two negatives that I heard about this rifle and see if I encounter them as well ( i do lol )
This is just a quick down and dirty first impressions & ammo test video, I will get some more detailed & updated videos for you guys on this rifle soon.

FYI some rifles don't like the lube on the NORMA. My Marlin 39A will fail to extract after 3 rounds, but has no issues with wax based lubricants used on CCI or Browning Target. My Bolt Action Marlin 880 SQUIRL and Ruger ..22 VBZ have no issues with Norma. As long as you have no issues with other brands, just stay off the Norma with this Rifle.
Try the CCI Standard Volicity. I get tight groups constantly with my Savage precision b22.
For sure, planning on testing that out as well as some SK soon as they get some back on the shelves! Lol
Try "SK pistol match special " or "Lapua pistol king" . I've got the same gun and use it for 50 yard benchrest competition. They out shoot any of the ammo you tested by quite a bit. I rarely shoot for groups but they can easily do less than half inch groups

You shoot competition but you don’t shoot for groups?
In ARA 50 yard benchrest competitions you put 1 shot in each bullseye so that's how you practice for it. I do shoot groups with other rifles and pistols, but with the B22 I only shoot it how we do it in competition. The target has 25 bullseyes for score, 3 sighters on top and 3 on the bottom if you need them. I usually only need 2 or 3 shots for the sighters.

Hey yes sorry those were 50 yds. Horrible groups with those ammo looking back at this old vid.
I should make an update video because I shoot SK long Range match through this now and have done quite a few rimfire PRS matches since. Groups 1/4 to 1/3” at 50 yds and less than 1” at 100yds with it. Also hits nicely out to 200-300yds on steel.

I’ve got PRS and more shooting stuff coming out with this rifle if you like that def stay tuned for some newer vids. But this rifle has been serving me well and keeping pace with tikkas, CZs and even some vudoos out in the field.
What good are groups if you don't say what yardage they were shot at ?

These are the first few shots on this rifle so only about 80 or so rds through so far after that day but yup for rimfire I would give a quick clean after every 1 or 2 outings!

Not great compared to vortex warranty but for the price on sale with all the functions it’s pretty good!
