I agree with you, Myrna! I loved these guys and their music, and worked with them, the 16`th April, 1965, in the Norwegian Television, where I was working for nearly 50 years. Fantastic gentle and smooth guys!!! There will never come a Duo like this two !!! Never again !!! Best wishes from cold Norway !!!!
I can listen to Gorgeous ,Beautiful Phil voice for eternity, l love him with all my heart and always will, Devoted To You for ever .My Love Always Paula XXX .
Those days(‘67 - ‘72) their voices are really beautiful n ring well n each look so good as an adult man. Always I wonder about that considering they’re said that their relationship n private life would be rather tough then. Anyway feel like jumping into sleeping boys (2:07-2:27) !!
From Wikipedia... The Everly Brothers "Phil Everly died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, on January 3, 2014,[64] 16 days before his 75th birthday, of lung disease.[65][66][67] Phil's widow Patti blamed her husband's death on his smoking habit, which caused him to develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and recounted Phil's spending his final years having to carry oxygen tanks with him wherever he went and taking 20 different types of medications per day.[68] Don Everly claimed in a 2014 interview with the Los Angeles Times that he had given up smoking in the late 1960s and that Phil had stopped too, but started again during their breakup and had continued until 2001. Don said that weak lungs ran in the family, as their father, Ike, had died of black lung disease. He admitted that he had lived "a very difficult life" with his brother and that he and Phil had become estranged once again in later years, something that was mainly attributed to "their vastly different views on politics and life", with the music being the one thing they shared closely, saying, "it's almost like we could read each other's minds when we sang." However, Don also stated he had not gotten over Phil's death, saying, "I always thought about him every day, even when we were not speaking to each other. It still just shocks me that he's gone." Don added that he had always firmly believed he would die before his brother, because he was older.[69] In a 2016 interview Don said he was still coping with the loss of Phil and that he had kept some of his brother's ashes in his home. He added that he would pick up the ashes every morning and say "good morning", while admitting that it was a peculiar ritual.[70] On August 21, 2021, Don Everly died at his home in Nashville, aged 84.[71] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Everly_Brothers#Deaths
Music of today comes and goes so quickly But these singers seem to live on their are songs that play today that is sixth years or more old that keep being ask for instead of auto tune people ( some) needs to learn to sing.....I can't sing wish I could but I know better sounds like a cat 🐱 that's having its behind 🍑 rub'ed with a steel brush...... But with auto tune it could be a hit....🎶🎶🎶🎶📻
Perhaps it's my particular bugbear but changing key during a song always seems to me to be a device - a very transparent device- thrown in to add interest to a song or performance which can't stand alone. . The Everlys are so good they did not need to do it here.
Have always loved this song. There will never be another Everlys. Beautiful harmonies.
