    Crosley was a fine name a long, long time ago. They have been slapping quality brand names on cheaply made products. Magnavox, Philco, etc. But maybe Crosley is FINALLY putting out a quality product again. Great review!

    It's good to see Crosley make a good piece of equipment. I hope people give them a chance to show that Crosley doesn't make only garbage. It is yet a clone of the Audio Technica Lp 120 which

    One thing this unit has that none of the online stores say is, it is AC and not DC. I hate those DC power supplies. I have been dragging my feet with buying this record player because I am fussy with quality. On my older stereo combo record players the weighted arm helps to play lightly scratched records. Good video, it is helping me to make the step of buying one.

    Here in Germany you basicly don‘t get Crosley turntables on the internet or in any stores. But last week i bought a DUAL DT 250. DUAL is the German Crosley. An old german brand that has tradition in manufacturing record players. You‘ll probably now them. What really suprises me is that the DT 250 seems to be exactly the same turntable that you have: Everything looks completely similar. All the switches, the tonarm with cartridge, just everything. (Except the brand on the player of course) But all in all i am super happy with it. I‘m just a student and i can‘t afford one of these 1000€ turntables. And the DUAL just cost me 99€ here in Germany( about 110-115 $ i think). The sound you get for that money is awesome !!! :D

    Thanks for the video. Helped me put mine together. After about two weeks, I now notice a random, occasional tapping noise during the playing of the records. After some inspection, I believe the noise is coming from the pulley on the drive motor. That pulley does move up and down slightly. If I lift it up and let go, it makes the exact sound that I notice during the playing of the records. So I think the drive belt is occasionally lifting that pulley and dropping it down. Is this normal? Can I correct it?

    This table was made at the Audio technical plant in China. Several technics turntable clones are made there to order. I have the Audio technical lp120
    These tables are not based, pretty good for beginners. A great way to get into the hobby. Crosley also had several models made by Project and these project tables seem better made. Nice to see Crosley trying for a higher line of table.

    Nothing wrong with a cheaper belt drive just for playing records. I've had direct drive and belt and i can honestly tell you ive never heard any rumble or noise from the direct drive. I prefer direct drive for DJ use but this one looks just fine for playback. I have noticed that SOME belt drive tables dont have as steady of a speed control as direct drive. Also, consider the belt a a wear item that needs relpacement from time to time. Cheap and easy to do though.

    I saw this review looking for a new Turntable. I liked it and I was lucky enough to get a brand new never used from a guy by 50$. He bought it but he need the Bluetooth one. So was a great deal. My concerns are 2: There are holes for speed adjustment in the bottom but looks like there is nothing there, just the holes. This is not big deal because you can pitch speed depending record weight and weight stabilizer. My biggest concern and I don't know if this is mine or all of them, the anti-skate when I use a plain no tracks record looks like do nothing. Any one has experimented the same? This is a great turntable if you can's spent a lot of money.

    After I re-watched this video after watching your review of the Victrola Pro, this TT seems head and shoulders above the Victrola. Primarily because of the Cruiser, Crosley has gotten a bad name that they don't always deserve. I've learned to take each Crosley product (like any product) on its own merits. If one is good but another is bad, I DON'T automatically say "well that's Crosley for you, they're always bad". It's true that Victrola, for one, is a direct competitor to Crosley. But I at least don't hear anybody saying, "all Victrolas are bad" when they have one that has some issues. My point is that people tend to automatically put Crosley (in their minds at least) in the junk pile without taking the time to look and listen to each individual product.
    But as long as we have the vinyl snobs and others who think that they're "experts" on all things vinyl like TTs, we're always going to have nay sayers to anything Crosley.
    And that stinks!!!

    • @Recordology
      @Recordology  3 роки тому

      And to top it off - LOTS AND LOTS of people actually think that Crosley is secretly making record players and trying to 'pass them off' under other brand names lol.....

    • @Recordology
      @Recordology  6 років тому +1

      Not sure - it does like to 'skate' a tad when you place the stylus at the very outer edge. Thank you for watching!

    • @bikdav
      @bikdav 5 років тому

      That tends to be more of a cartridge problem, not the turntable. I discovered years ago that sometimes you have to "tweak" the anti skate setting.

    • @garrettcarroll5808
      @garrettcarroll5808 5 років тому

      The anti-skating mechanism works as long as you place the stylus closer to the inner/outer edge.
      Otherwise it does skate.

    Actually, the C100 is a belt drive, while the C200 is direct drive, which makes it more like the AT LP 120.
    Looks like a good product!
    Could you maybe some time review the C200? You could compare it with both the C100 and the AT LP 120.
    (Not that I think you have a bundle of money, just a suggestion :) :) :))

      Yes the C100 is belt drive and the C200 is DD - I would love to review it one of these days. Same with the LP120 series (there are multiple LP120's now) all made by the same company. Thank you for watching!

      This seems like a good competitor to the audio technica lp3, or somewhere in the middle between the lp3 and lp120. As I recall, the LP3 is a belt drive, but features an adjustable counterweight (instead of a spring) like the lp120. However, it does not feature the pitch adjust.

      I always read ALL comments! Thanks for watching! This is a great unit and so is the lp60 but both are very different. Ahhh good question (HARD QUESTION) both great TTs made by Hanpin. I love the LP60 for its full auto and great sound, and I love the c100 for its full manual and great sound. So I guess its up to what motivates you. I can say the c100 is huge - but a lot of fun! Also, lookup the Crosley T400 - its their version of the LP60.

    Crosley C100: Hey can I copy your homework?
    Technics SL1200: Ya sure but change a little so that it doesn't look obvious that you copied.

    • @richardmorgan1588
      @richardmorgan1588 4 роки тому

      toad A used Technics SL 1200 in any generation is mega light years better than any Crosley ever made! Especially the MK2 and up generations are built like tanks and with minimal care will last forever! They will cost you more. My MK2 cost me $700 but it was in like new condition and the seller packed it with love like it was fresh from the factory! Also they usually do not come with a cartridge so that is extra and it will require a very detailed setup getting alignment, tracking force and anti skate dialed in! Once that is done with a decent cartridge, and paired with a decent system, you are rewarded with amazing quality! I amaze people who come to my home. They never thought a record could sound so great! That said, for beginners, this turntable featured in this video doesn’t seem a bad choice to introduce yourself to records. The great thing about this hobby is there is literally no limit to how good your music can sound on vinyl. For many of us it’s been a journey that just keeps rewarding!
