Fun fact. I’ve danced Tejano most of my life.. spins and turns, lots of fun! Now retired, moved to a location where 2-step is king, taking lessons to learn 2-step, LOL!! Thank you for your videos! Gracias!!
Wow you both are just the best 2 steppers I have ever seen. Lovely.. I'm still learning that hand turn.I think it might take me 3 or 4 months too really get the hang of it all.🥰💃💃
@@countrydancex yay!!🤠yw. I most definitely stick with the moves.hopefully one day I can be 1 of those two stepper dancer. Thanks again for another great video..Can't wait to see you both again.🥰
You two ALWAYS come up with great lessons! After about 3 weeks of dancing that single turn I thought it was just boring but you're right, it's wrong. It FEELS wrong. Great point'.
Thank you for always joining us and contributing! Easier isn’t always better. We’re not real big on using “right or wrong” in conversations about dancing because that’s not a real thing. We just choose “better” over “worse”. ;-)
Another instructor whom I respect greatly teaches to always assume that any turn is a double turn (same basic idea as what you propose). However, a long time ago, one of the things that I was taught as a follower (for any dance): once a leader has initiated a turn, KEEP TURNING until the leader stops you - i.e., there are no assumptions about number of turns.
A lot of people teach a single turn. That’s what we were taught in the beginning too. But... what happens during a free spin? The partners aren’t attached, so there is no lead. The default has always been 1 1/2. Keep turning until the leader stops you isn’t what we would advise.

Wow. What do you say to that? Thank you (and there are lots of really really good 2 step dancers). Stick with it, it gets easier :-)
