Good to see I'm not the only bloke that drags his missus around dusty old motors when we're on holiday.
4:35
Sharon: Look at the colour of those flowers
Martin: Yeah...ship those cars back to the UK, worth a fortune
Similar sort of conversation I have with my wife 😂
That little orange bmw was nice ....I remember them back in the day.... I feel old and I'm only in my 40's lol😂😂😭😭
All my dream cars in one video, wow. W123’s, Triumph’s, BMW 3-6 series. Hope they are all sold off one day, they all look incredibly solid cars, bet all they need is a little oil and a lick ‘o paint.
Great video Martin. Great cars those triumph 2000's were. Cyprus doesn't get the crap weather like here so the cars there last longer.
Cheers, Jeff.
It's pissing down here where I am in the UK at the moment! Have a great holiday!
Problem is I’d like to get on with my projects in sunnier climes, (holidays are ok, but there’s only so much sitting around eating I want to do) they won’t fit in my suit case though☹️🤣🤣 so I’ll just have to soldier on with them through another U.K. winter😫
Great video. Not sure if you already know, but Cyprus Historic and Classic Motor Museum is in Limassol. Great place to visit, and some lovely cars.
Thanks for the info!
Some nice old motors there mate hope your enjoying your holiday beautiful weather
Amazing video and nice cars! :P
Good video , your the sort of bloke that would end up going on holiday and coming back with a car souvenir not a fridge magnet eh lol 😉👍
Haha, don't give me ideas Pauly lol
Well done Martin nice cars mate
Great video ,really make DIY interesting xxxx
Glad you enjoyed it
Love old cars. Thanks for sharing.
Hope you all are having a nice time and them are nice cars and equipment aside from the damage and the paint Thanks for the content and documenting the holiday
Edited stay safe and take care
Amazing. What was all those motors just doing there?? And you're right, people over here would pay a packet for those.
I love anything old and seeing it restored is great. I come over from Snobby Scrap Picker. Liked and subbed.
Nice one, thanks bud
I will have the Triumph 2000 ... Your welcome to the rest of them! ;-)
That Triumph 2000 worth a fortune in the Uk 👍👍👍👍
Martin, most of those 3 Series were E30s which are very desirable and fetch good money. That's why I ended up with an E36. I saw quite a few E28 5 Series which are also desirable. I'd love to buy one, fix it up and drive it back to the UK.
Lovely cars after fixing the van I think I can get one of these bad boys to drive after we finish traveling in the van Haha
You always find old cars in islands and countries in The Mediterranean and the don't fall to pieces unlike they do here. The only 2 things they're prone to is cracked dashes and faded paintwork. You can hear those cars saying ''Please restore me!''
Brilliant get one shipped back 👍
Does anyone here get the feeling Martin wants to buy another restoration car? Got to love the ending!!
Well done 🚗 nice old cars Martin butler 👍
I never see any adverts ...
Sharon it's a Triumph 2000.🤣.
Be careful when you go down into the bushes there might be snakes
great video martin, wasnt surprised to see so many mercs out there but that triumph 2000 - what the hell was that doing out there? i reckon they must have sold them out there from brand new as no one in their right mind would bother to import them! have a good one martin 👍
Good question!
As you said Martin, plenty of contenders for next year's project(you were like a kid in a sweet shop you didn't know where to look).
I can see them arriving in Old Blighty and starting to rust and disintegrate before your very eyes(sorry been watching too any horror films lately )!!Stay safe.
Don’t tempt him, he has that trotter van to finish first🤣🤣🤣 come on MARTIN less of the holidaying and get back and get that van done 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That second Merc you saw ,I had one, mine was a 280 e ,bit of a blues brothers car !😀👍
Great find mate gold dust 👌
2.5 X type is a V6, 2.0 and 2.2 were diesels and usually have single tailpipes 😃
That old jag 2.5 is a petrol v6, is it not the same engine as your st??
Triumph 2000 now that was a car, my father had one when I was a kid.....
Great Vid Martin 👍
Enjoy your holiday pal
A bit warmer than Lincolnshire mate. Good luck to you.
The 2.5 jag is actually a mondeo engine, the earlier st version to yours mate.. st24 or st200 i think
Any progress on the Mobylette?
All what you see in my vids is what I am working on bud
nice old motors there
How much ? How many £? For shipping 1400?
Buy one and restore it 😜
That’s a Jaguar X Type if it’s the V6 it will be the same engine as the Mondeo ST220
Odd to see that 2000 there.
Yes it was Dave
what part of cyprus is this ?
Limassol bud
Cuba is even better for old cars as well.
Do you have approximate prices for them?
I didn't ask
@@retrorestore ohh okey,they look amazing.
All the ford V6 engines are Mazda engines built by Yamaha, at one time Ford owned 31% of Mazda.
Are you up by Akrotiri where that Jag was?
Yes bud, it is
Im goimg out their next month, what is the food like.
Great where we are
The Jag is the 2.5 petrol AWD. On the Triumph front I found the 2000 a little under powered. The 2500s were much more fun, especially the PI.
Lets play the drinking game with the "LOOK"
IM pissed now
CHeErS HiC Martain
Did you end up buying any of these
No bud.
But X type isn't that old and you're probably get it cheaper for grand or pens what else is wrong with it I'll get it for about 2 1
I was joking bud
Beware SNAKES hide in them
Travelling to Cyprus during covid 19 very sensible
There daughter lives there! Youd travel to see you family aswell
Not sure what you mean
Yes it is! Safer than most places tbf! The government have done an amazing job here
@@theeuropeancyclepaths8206 the uk is bad and just as a precaution they should stay home
Pe Ter .. yeah you stay in your bedroom till mommy says it is all safe for you to leave ..silly sod ..
Time to visit North Cyprus for much more older rarer cars
Yes,we went there last time
That 2000 look nice lots of cars just left out there what we would like lol
BMW bucket of mixed washers LoL
I want that 2000! 😂
Remember Pete C found a great MK3 Cortina in Cyprus a while back . Do like them Triumph 2000s.
Pete that Mk3 was still there last time I checked, love that 2000 Martin and Sharon found here
BIG big straight six lump . Your about not being rude 50ish like me .
Mr Butler you make Del Boy look like an amateur very easily , difference being you know what is hot and what is not. The other thing is that Del can’t make things happen , but you can. Leave the heap of crap 💩 that is the Jaguar , never made a real one since mid 1960s in my opinion , but return and give yourself a couple of hours in that collection Beamer or Merc doesn’t matter you would import and restore a car that would make your channel one of the most bonafide channels on UA-cam 👍 Tam.
Haha, thanks Tam
He was in Paphos Cyprus
I live there
Thats strange the last few days ive been watching barn find cars and then you did this one great video mate
Amazing what you find abroad isn’t it, a few years ago in Portugal in the middle of nowhere I came across a field full of old cars, easily over a hundred, Ford 100e’s Anglia’s Escorts Cortinas, mostly Fords but plenty of other Makes, there wasn’t a house anywhere and no one there to ask about them, nearest village was about 15-20 miles away, I still regret not finding someone to ask if they could be bought.
We have the same here in Malta. Scrapyards and wasteland with old cars that are in great condition because the weather is so warm. Our Taxis here are either older Mercedes or the ford focus
Even on holiday your on the look out for things to restore Martin lol busmans holiday they call it glad to see you both catching the sun hope your shoulder is better mate Rob
Thanks Martin. Your chatty friendly style has just taken me on an interesting trip round a lovely warm Cyprus on a cold October morning in the UK. Cheers 👍
Thank you Sharon and Martin I enjoy watching your videos it is so nice to see old cars 🚙 I am from South Africa
Haha.. I live in Cyprus. Old cars are generally in mint condition here. All the best Martin 👍
They are always absolutely mint but with a bit of paint fade, every time.
👍🤔👍🤔👍😁😁
Probably be stolen from UK, and shipped over in containers, was told when we had the scrappage a few years back ,the older cars got shipped out,and not scraped, shoulder seems ok?
Still in pain, I had pain killers when I filmed that
Just had a similar thing here in Malta. An Eastern European gang were stealing UK Artics and bringing them here (Malta is also RHD & drives on the left) A police raid uncovered half a dozen trucks all stolen to order
does it not rain there then
Very very very rarely. When it does it is either just a passing shower that wasn't worth the effort or a real downpour which will be centrally heated and will have dried out within an hour
Bit like Malta, full of old Uk built motors. Hardly rust due to the sun 👍🏻
I really want to visit Malta, if this virus gets under better control I may well be off there next year.
The virus is taken much more seriously here than in the UK. Shop keepers will throw you out if you don't wear a mask. Bus drivers will call the police for the same reason etc. Schools were surprised to restart this week but it has been deferred for yet another week.
I'll be glad once we've beaten this thing
John Apparently to reports the oxford vaccine is looking very promising ( not that I believe the news) but I have also heard from it’s going well through someone in the know, who knows someone who knows someone🤔 so 🤞 it will start to be available around spring time. But we are properly still talking 6 months plus for it to be rolled out to everyone in the U.K. we will get there but it’s a time thing. But I’m confident things will be much better this time next year.
