I have this radio and a Samsung galaxy s7 edge. When I plug the phone in via the lead nothing comes up on the hesdunit. I have Bluetooth set up and connected if I manually click on android auto on my phone it opens up only on the phone.
Does it matter which USB port you connect to? Radio says “apple CarPlay is not available with this USB port” but the manual says you can use either gray or black port for apple CarPlay.
I have this unit and the camera. It has some definite downfalls but not quite enough for me to rip the head out of my dash. First and foremost is the 'nag screen' on power up. It is WAY too long and the only thing that works while it is displayed is volume and the camera input. Even if you press the 'continue' soft key it still takes 5 seconds for the screen to go away. I have had several other head units without a nag screen. Next is the ATT button. Although a nice feature it will only reduce the volume by a certain percentage of what your current level of listening is. It would be nice if you could push it again and have it mute. Also you can not turn down the volume when the ATT is activated without the volume level coming back on. Again it would be nice to hit the ATT button, in case you got in and it was way to loud and turn it down. The display for glare is horrible. I have a Ford F150 and the head sits high in the dash. So no love there. The presets for the EQ pretty much all sound all the same so they are worthless. The 'fast-charge" USB cable does NOT fast charge. If plugged in and you use the phone (maps, etc.) it actually loses power. If the phone display is off then it will charge but no faster than any other wall charger. Android-Auto is terrible, I won't even use it but every time I plug my phone into the head's USB I get another 'nag-screen' to download the app. I so wish there was a check box for an option 'Do not display'. I have a Sirius module connected but the GUI is poorly designed. The fold-in/fold-out side menus are not customize-able and so you have to just remember what you programmed in the slot. The phone GUI sucks also. It is a small block off to the right and with the glare issue it is hard to find the answer/hang-up soft keys. Why does't it take up the whole screen? I have another Kenwwod unit in my Jeep and it does!! The ONLY reason I keep this head is the camera. I like being able to see video files right away and on the units display. There are issues with the features of the camera also like the driving alerts/alarms are worthless. They go off even when no-one is front of me and at what ever speed. I turned this off. To bad Kenwood won't do a flash update for this unit. I think it's out on the market and they are done with it. They are moving onto the next model.

Guys those kenwood head units work with other fones dont they like a Huawei, my bro carnt get is to pair or connect, yet my Samsung so fires stright up, could use some advice guys, many thanks x
I had this exact Radio and on the box it came in it has UA-cam and a bunch of other things that I cannot figure out how to do they even bypassed so it would be work out of park not that I would do that but I can't get it to work at all to play any video

who is paying for Sirius any more? everything has been done here already , I do like the 2 USB though, even though not mentioned over my single usb XAV-AX100 Sony, price is a good deal as well on this , no need for cd at all though
Have you tried the Google Car Play with the Google Pixel? I've plugged my Pixel into the Black USB cable and while the phone charges, the Android Auto icon never comes up.
