My dividend journey began when I realized that two particular expenses in my budget were always going to go up and never go down. The two expenses were taxes and insurance. I realized that the dramatic rise in both will need some added income. So, I started buying shares paying dividends. I can now see that this will be the path I need to take to make sure those two expenses will not overtake my future income.

As a beginner, educate yourself, Learn the basics of investing and the stock market. There are many resources available online, including books, articles, and online courses. It’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different stocks and sectors to minimize risk. I’ve heard of people accruing over $550k during recessions and inflation, its important to do your own research.

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850K.

During a bear market, the headlines will focus on negative news, whether it's declining economic growth, geopolitical upheaval, cultural and legal turmoil, or some combination of all three. I listened to a podcast of someone that grew his reserve from $120k to almost $460k during this Red season, can you share tips on how to make such aggressive proceeds in short periods?

The AVG. market leader falls 65% on a correction and almost NEVER returns to lead again so "long term" individual stock holding is a terrible idea...Kodac used to lead and is now bankrupt, remember Enron? Worldcom? Market leading companies that wrecker stores for financial magazines that went to ZERO quickly. IF you invest in individual stocks you need to actively manage the account. IF you invest in Mutual Funds there there ARE long term hold options.

You, as an index fund investor may be up 0.5% profiting almost nothing
I think investing in index funds is a double edged sword
And I highly disagree with you for the last part
You don't have do be warren buffet to return more than 8% a year
If you know what you are doing.
But I also agree with you, these UA-cam channels make this process seem easy. Which is not
So when people invest and they see themselves in the red they panic and they sell, and that's why the majority of investors return less than the market average, they just don't know what they're doing
And especially now, it's easier than ever to invest, it's just a matter of clicks, people see that as a get rich quick thing, and they lose their money
I'm not saying that index funds are bad or anything like that, they aren't just good enough if you know what you are investing in.

People who want the quick fix or fast dollar aren't interested in feeding and taking care of their minds. I'm happy you pointed that out. It's important to understand this stuff as a whole.
