- Jim Gray, Northern Irish loyalist and the East Belfast brigadier of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), the largest Ulster loyalist paramilitary organisation in Northern Ireland, was shot dead on his doorstep on October 4, 2005. This film features exclusive interviews with Michael Stone, convicted UFF killer and Johnny Adair, jailed for directed UFF terror. Jim Gray was often nicknamed "Doris Day" for his flamboyant clothing, jewellery, and dyed blond hair. Another media nickname for Gray was the "Brigadier of Bling". He was the owner of several bars in East Belfast. Who killed him and why?

The amount of time people spend mythologising and eulogising these people astonishes me. He was a street thug running some two bit rackets in some run down estates who didn't have the self awareness to realise the earring made him look stupid. Even as a crime boss he was second rate. Don't waste a moment of yourt time on him.
What actually rankles me is that the journalist doesn't call these people out on the bulls**t. The wife, for example, if you take even half of the other comments posted here, was repeatadly abused by Gray and was fully aware of and complicit with, his invovlement in crime and the UDA, yet she spins a yarn about him being a kind man and having no knowledge of his criminal activities. If the journalist has an ounce of competence, he knows that's not true, but he gives her a platform to basically sanitise the reputation of a domestic abuser and a murderous thug.
She said that at the start then gradually she found out.

I have to say, as a catholic, I could listen to stone talk for hours. He’s done awful things but man, is he articulate.
Truth is Stone took absolutely no joy in killing catholics, he did it purely for his cause. He proved that when he faced the family of the man he killed in 1986 voluntarily for that TV programme, and i think he would make amends with all his victims families if he was called to do it. He is probably the most honorable loyalist of the lot and i am on that side of the fence. I like listening to Adairs stories but the man and C company were nothing more than sadistic killers guilty of the worst cowardice. To even call yourself a 'battalion' while targetting unarmed people going about their lives is as laughable as it is heinous. I'm actually shocked that Adair is still alive with his rough location in Scotland being so well known.
Its easy to be articulate when you're just a fantasist making s**t up as you go. Stone has always fancied himself as being some kind of elder statesman of Loyalism, but he's nothing more than Begbie from trainspotting - even other Loyalists don't want him around.

Forget all the Ira Uvf rubbish, because the truth is we're all here to look out for each other and to laugh and to be kind to each other and celebrate life and it really annoys me to see people fighting over sweet fuck all, you want to fight, you join a boxing club or martial arts and fight like a man. If you want to live a beautiful life you don't hate, you work together and show some respect for each other, and religion wont show you that.
