- The story behind an alleged Republican 'spy ring' at Stormont, which led to the collapse of the NI Govt in October 2002 and the subsequent outing of Denis Donaldson, as a paid agent of UK security services in 2005, after charges against him were dropped. Four months after he made a public statement on RTE TV, he was murdered near Glenties, Donegal, at a family cottage. HIs family have taken legal action against the Garda Siochana for the return of a journal he was apparently writing at time of death. In July 2016, a 74 year old man was charged with withholding information about Denis Donaldson's murder. An inquest into Denis Donaldson's death has been adjourned over 19 times. Gardai say they continue to investigate. On May 6, 2018, Sunday Times journalist John Mooney reported that police in Scotland had secretly recorded a dissident Republican confessing to the murder. The confession was recorded in a prison were the republican is serving a lengthy sentence for an unrelated offence. According to the report, a prominent Republican from Derry is believed to have directed the operation, which was carried out by three others. The motive was reported as revenge for Denis Donaldson's betrayal of the IRA and Sinn Fein and a propaganda boost for the Real IRA.
It's one thing to become disillusioned with the conflict.... but to sellout your comrades to the enemy for money is just absolutely sickening.....

@@sabre22b50 Im not entirely sure that Donaldson was an informer for the 20 years as stated in the video, I think if that was true it would have sank sinn fein and the ira very quickly. I think he was compromised not long before his arrest for something else, and then used to undermine the republican movement and question its credibility. His confession seems coerced, but im really not sure. He ended up murdered in donegal I think.
So the prison officers were in the wrong country again so they had to be sent home to England this explains everything lol
