Hi Rachelle. Loving your vlogs. I walked from SJPP to Santiago during 9/28/19 - 10/28/19 so I was only two weeks behind you. Your videos are great and bring back wonderful memories. I miss those beautiful sunrises. Thank you for putting these together and sharing with us. I am sure it is a lot of effort. Keep up the great work. The food in these Camino-side cafes look inviting. I love the crunchy sound of your bread 😃 (15:12) Really sorry you weren't able to capture the nuns on camera but I understand why they don't want to be videoed. Perhaps this is one of those experiences that are just meant to be kept in our memories and our hearts. The way you narrated it I think captures the essence of it anyway, really appreciate that. Hi Rachelle what nice again. Your emotions, beautiful. This stage is even more similar to my Camino. Same route along the river, the church just alone in the landscape. Sleep in the albergue run by the nuns. I also sang there with my Camino friends and I played Amazing Grace on my harmonica. That really gave my good feelings, emotions. And yes no photo’s and video allowed. Thank you again for your beautiful report. So valuable for yourself but also for me. Thank you dear Rachelle. I look forward to the next leg. Buen Camino

Did you reserve a stay in the Santa Maria Church in Carrion de los Condes or is it on arrival basis?
No reservations at the albergue, so we had to queue. It was worth the wait!

I had to pause watching this to share my own experiences in Carrion de los Condes
I have walked the full Camino in 2017, 2018 & 2019 and I have found this town to generally be the biggest pilgrim gouge
I am not religious though I can feel it walking on the camino BUT I have stayed in 2 albergues run by the nuns and I have found them to on the most part unfriendly and in 2 individual cases nasty
Those 2 cases were around trying to find a bed for one young girl who had fallen ill just outside town, a few of us had gone ahead to find her a bed.
We did not ask for a bed for the rest of us just this one girl. but was told by a nun, matter of factly 'cant help, she'll have to take her chances in line when she gets here".
This was the Alburgue with the singing nuns and dont even ask me about the reaction my from one of the nuns when someone innocently tried to video the nuns singing - beware
The 2nd albergue story was none of us were told we could not leave prior to 7:30am in the morning, so a group of us were trying to find an exit (doors & gates locked) around 6:30am and we eventually rang a bell and were greeted shortly after by the most angry aggressive nun I have ever seen.
I have nothing but praise for every other nun I met on my camino's, some have left lasting happy impressions on me with words of kindness I will never forget
I will walk the Camino again after Covid but I'll pass straight through this town

@@IllGetThere Thank you, I will simply not stop here next time, simple no stress solution. The only other bad experience I shared with a few people was a particular private albergue in Barbadelo, just past Sarria. everywhere & everyone else, fantastic :)
