Could also help that Tlaib's district is massively favorable to her, whereas Bowman was on unfavorable terrain - Westchester politics are center-left, moderate, centrism-based.

As a European, I notice 2 things. The lack of knowledge of the majority of Americans in matters of civic education. The excessive weight of money to finance electoral campaigns. Well said! As a US citizen this has caused me so much frustration anger and sadness my entire adult life. Most people confuse political advertisements with facts, believing anything they see or hear. Further most Americans like short and simple phrases that can fit on bumper sticker. That becomes their political philosophy; no thought, no analysis, no facts.

I couldn’t vote for Jamaal Bowman because of redistricting. A huge part of the central north Bronx (the black part) was redistricted to the south bronx. Now we’re represented by Ritchie Torre’s.

The gap in the realities of High Info and Low Info Voters has never been more apparent. And that gap is filled by (AIPAC) money.
There should be continuous ads by progressives especially in the quiet time in between races, about these special interest groups, to inform the public who they are and how they operate. Because without people understanding the system, we're never going to beat this.

That can't be done. Read that again and try to digest it. Overturning the citizens united ruling would require a _constitutional amendment_ .. do you know what it requires to pass an amendment? Now, let's consider that that procedure was created when the entire population of the country around 4 million.TWENTY PERCENT of those were slaves, btw. so, lets say about 3 million. that's like getting a parking ordinance passed in chicago. Now consider that electoral politics has been fostered to be more and more polarized in the last 15 years or so. do you think that's anywhere near an appropriate tool as it was designed to be? do you think this system can be salvaged at all? electoral politics is not the answer. the working class holds the only real power. it's time to start using that power to fi things that are broken on purpose to reduce democratic leverage. do you understand? voting is not enough. _demonstrating_ is not enough, either. organizing and acting is the only think we can do that will have any potential effect.
It will take a physical revolution

I think Bowman was morally right to focus on Israel/Aipac’s influence, but there are other things that Latimer was bad on that could’ve been focused on. We can’t just not blame the candidate when it’s a candidate who supports our positions is losing/has lost. Ultimately, he fought the good fight but clearly his campaign wasn’t perfect.
How much fighting does it take to overcome 100 million dollars of ad buys on top of the captured media? Just curious how angry I should be at Mr. Bowman and his campaign. Maybe they could have lost by a closer count if they just fought harder.
@@garrett2439this problem is the system, but if candidates lose elections, it’s on them to figure out what went wrong. There’s plenty of things that were/are wrong with Latimer that could’ve been brought up.
