honestly... as a non brit I feel bad for basically watching BBC stuff for free... over the years the BBC has made some fantastic stuff. I am very grateful.

@@Daelyas don't! If they are stupid enough to pay it then I have no sympathy. .I've been refusing to pay it my whole life. I've had court dates sent to me etc etc etc I just throw them in the bin. And the last time one of there licence officers knocked on my door I pressed record on my phone, answered the door and he said "hi it's about your TV licence" so I as I filmed him I said "sorry mate but I don't fund pedophile and propaganda organisations" he didn't say a word, he just walked away!

@@Quagmirian Brass Eye was Chris Morris. Morris and Brooker do have very similar styles of comedy and satire.
Brass Eye and The Day Today were both primarily Chris Morris, but Charlie Brooker was one of the writers on the Brass Eye special (paedogeddon) and they've worked together since then on shows like Nathan Barley series and the Black Mirror story "The Waldo Moment". So it's safe to say their styles and sense of humor have some degree of overlap :)

Oh this is so funny. I thought I was just getting old and cantankerous as watching the news has become an aggravating non informative experience. No balanced coverage, half witted innuendoes from one side of a story, no digging for the facts or truth and by press time the other side didn't respond so we ran the one sided view anyway so we can be first reporting the breaking news story. Our channel likes to have a subject walking.... in the first scene towards and then away from the camera. Every. Single. Time.
Only Farage survived.

There is a serious side though and hopefully it goes beyond bar charts that no one understands. The sad fact is that countries with populations with such unsustainable density as the UK need to import vast amounts of food simply so as to feed their own currently burgeoning populations. Much of this food is already imported, presumably, from countries that people are leaving. Many of these countries, particularly in Africa have exceedingly high birthrates. In comparison the relatively slow natural population growth of the UK is much more closely in line with the rate of improvement in food production. The rate of population growth in many of the countries that people are leaving is not.
It makes absolutely no environmental sense to take people from countries where per capita resource use is low and allow the import of such people into countries where per capita resource use is high. It makes no sense to import both people and food into the same densely populated areas. People should have support and opportunity in their own countries of origin. Destabilizing and prejudiced regimes that prompt attempts at migration should be opposed. Population concern organisations (such as at www.populationmatters.org/) should be urgently referenced and supported.
Things may potentially only going to get worse when, at some time in the future, we run out of stocks of non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels and in which we may need to use the land that is currently used to produce food so as to produce forms of energy.
Potential migrants should be informed of the relevant facts regarding the global economic and environmental situation because, every migrant that makes it into countries like the UK, just adds to the problem of the global situation. Problems need to be solved at source.
Education is required in all ways especially the education and empowerment of women which lacks support or is unjustly opposed in some cultures. The facts are that when women are educated, rates of population growth moderate.
