As a fellow bait builder, I have to thank you for your endless supply of inspiration. I have followed your work for years and have probably seen every one you have posted, both on UA-cam and other sites as well. Yet your work never seems to hit a wall or get boring due to your innovation and brilliant craftsmanship. Thanks again Mikko! You've done it again!
I've been making lures from recycling trash and stuff found on the beach. Already doing line through jigs and minnows for a few months, so it seems the idea is floating around but your video is the first I've seen. At the time I was out of wire... necessity is the mother of invention!

Realy cool lure idea and it swims really nicely. If you still would like to work on it then a small propeller at the end of the lure could be a nice touch.
Hi I've made line through big poppers and stickbaits for GT and other pelagic fish, there's one thing I am struggling at the moment, when the line gets thicker the connection between the line and lure loses flexibility due to a solid connection rather than a ringed connection like most of lures have. I'm talking about leader lines around 200lb-400lb, even though all trolling skirted lures have the same way (line running thru the lure) but they are trolled straight not twitched by rod. It does get boring when the lure head doesn't face side to side especially using stickbaits they still catch fish but not fun. Still thinking of an idea for that. There's a type of lures called Borg lures that you can still use split rings to and there is a enough size hole for it to slide up.
What type of coating did you mix with the titanium dioxide to prime it? "Cap" something? Can you spell the brand name of the we product? Looked to put a high build/tough coat as a primer!
Hey man! Amazing video as usual! Cool to see a kind of bait you don't see every day. I just started making baits, and so far I've been using old skateboards for material. I get it for free from my skateboarding friends and it's great stuff: multicoloured maple plywood, super strong and hard. Have you ever used it? Would love to hear/see what you would make of it!
@@SolarfallBaits i really like the fact that it is multicoloured plywood. Usually try to make at least parts of it just be clearcoated to let it shine though. Dunno if it catches fish, but i like it! :D Parts of then are also bent, which I'm going to try to work in to my designs. Fun!
To build a vacuum pump you need n old refrigerator pump, determine the high and low side. The hig side is the smallest tube or the one blowing out. Pinch it off about 98% . It hasbto exhale to inhale. Now yo can finb fittings to tap the low side. Pinch it off and seal it. Now ad your tap hook up hose to any sellable container i have used 5 gallon can with a wood lid that i covered with rubber inertube. My vac tank cost less than thirty dollars.
Rember to put ac oil n, just dropped low or suction side hose in nd turn it on. If you're high side spits oil out pinch it off more or lingthen the tubing.

tube is way easier to use. first of all geting a straight hole to a shape like that is a nightmare and second of all you need to coat the inside of the hole too, if you dont do that water is going to seep into the wood and cause it to bulge and in no time the clearcoat will crack open and ruin your lure.

A good idea implemented well. It reminds me of tube flies when fly fishing.
I wonder if the plastic tube will end up with a cut in it from the line running thru it.
Beautiful lure, from cat piss, to candy wrapper. Nicely done.
Time will tell but it seemed to hold up so far.
Nice job. The line through is like the Kynoch lure for salmon. Abu used to make a Kynoch and I used it for pike fishing.

Great videos and great craftsmanship in lure making. What thickness of foil do you use and where can it be found?
To both questions i have no idea
