As someone who just discovered your channel this year, I'm so glad you started telling us things like when a sound wasn't a fart it was the chair, or coming up with the weirdest way to say one day!
Me and my son have started to do this together i love how into it he got hes 16 and i dont want him getting in with the wrong crowd so fishing was what i figured could keep him busy and broke and its working so far (fish with your kids pass the knowledge along)
20 years ago I made about 5 lure blanks and never finished. Life got in the way. You have inspired me once again! I went out and bought a new sander and am looking at a bandsaw and airbrush. I see you have upgraded some tools and methods since you started posting.... Awesome job!
Great video. I'm a long time subscriber. I have made a bunch of lures for myself and caught some good fish with them. Your videos are awsome and are the reason I bought my first airbrush. Your painting, mixing, carving etc.... techniques saved me tons of aggravation. One of these days if one of my designs catches serious fish I'm going to try and make a mold. I completely understand the time it takes to build these and then you video and edit on top of it. Thanks for your hard work!
I have always wanted to build baits and probably sooner or later I will decide to buy everything and start building my baits anyway congratulations you are really good, this video is fantastic because it is relaxing, very good😍😁💪👍
Those are awesome, and you made the painting look easy enough for me to do this time. I still am lacking in the paint department. I am glad to see that you mold some of yours and not just make all of them out of wood. I have just recently started to use the wooden ones. I was always scared I wasn't going to be able to carve one twice so I just molded them so I could make them forever. ha ha I noticed that you were using an alumilite product for the casting. That is the same product that I started with. I later found, Feather Lite by a company called Smooth-On, and was much happier with the casts. You have to order it to a local distributor and pick it up from there. But I ordered the two large buckets of part a and part b and am still using it almost a year later and haven't run out. You do have to mix it before use but I feel it is worth it for what you get. But then again if something works why fix it and your's are obviously working.
Hello! My name is Pavlo. I'm from Ukraine. I really love fishing! I work in the manufacture of furniture. Often with a tree. I have been working with wood painting for a long time. In my free time I do something for myself. I want to make a bait myself Please answer my questions: 1. What kind of wood do you use? 2. What metal do you use for cargo? 3. What primer do you use to start? 4. What varnish do you use for the finish? Is its composition acrylic? Thanks for the help! Great video! Good luck to you!
I love your work so much it has me wanting to make sum my question is what type of wood can you use as I don't want to waste my time working a pine one for example if it's not going to work hope you can help thanks long time veiwer
So I make lure blanks with silicone and let it dry for 24-48 hours before I mess with it I'm curious as to why you vacuum cambered your mix before applying it to the wax mold?
What did you do to the alumilite in the pot with the lid? Speed up the curing process? I use alumilite high strength for my handpour swimbait molds and I've never had to do anything like that.
Fantastic video again man, I wanted to ask do you have a website or any step by step guides for someone who is starting out. Iv bought some basic tools, balsa wood ext, hoping to make some small lures for trout. Im happy cutting, shaping the bait, making the through wire and lip ext. But when it comes to sealing the wood before painting, is that just a polyurethane varnish? Which then gives a base for painting? Once painting do you varnish it again or use expoxy for the final layer? Thanks man, keep up the good work.
nice very impressive but I think in the colder months they would work better slowly retrieved along the bottom with short twitches to look like wounded fish
I am so happy with the Lure I purchased from you! It is gorgeous! I have a couple of questions for you. When you crave a lure to cast, how do you determine the best shape so that it swims well? Secondly, when you drop weights directly into your mold how do you control where they are placed in the final lure? It looks like you poor from the top of the mold so maybe they all drop to the belly of the lure?
Awesome! Thanks for buying my baits. I’ve carved and tested 1000s of baits, so that really helps, but you never really know until the testing. The bird shot that I use as weight will drop to the bottom, and I have the mold at the right angle, so the weight is in the right spot.
Marling Baits Beautiful lures by the way. Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about trying it with one. I fear if I can't completely close the outside it would slowly hold water.
Hey u should def start a buisness w them name it marlings custom exotic baits and catch phrase should be like on to the next bait or.. do you think it even works ? .. but great work so far I’ve not seen one yet that’s lacking any quality great job
Love your videos.. usually you describe what your doing in every video and what fish your trying to mimic and the steps your taking to get there. Its very intriguing to hear all the details that you put in to each lure. This video seems very quiet. I hope everything is ok.
I love all of your work you do it has inspired me to start making my own baits but after all these videos I wonder what type of writing utensil you use
Hey excellent craftsmanship. I've made some wooden baits so far, but am thinking about getting into making molds. Do you use different paints for soft plastics or is the createx fine? different final epoxy or just same envirotex lite? thanks!
I have really enjoyed watching your videos and seeing the progression of your work, it keeps getting better. You are very talented, Thanks for all the great videos . What model Airbrush you use?
+Marling Baits okay nice very good job i have no luck making rock hard epoxy i have tried 5 minute and 30 minute also super strength 24 hour epoxy and its still no good

My buddy dave "the bearded fish slayer" and i are pretty darn interested in quite a few things that your making! He more than i wants to pitch you some ideas for some custom baits, hollow body stuff. I personally would like to see some dank tubes!

Bought one of these when you made them a few years back. Lost a big musky on it, but now I get too scared to use it knowing I can’t replace it lol

Hero of the Day is a good, underrated song
I have been carving my own lures for years and I must say, you do awesome work!
Hears metallica in the background....ooooo I like
Красивая работа. и красиво воблерок работает.

I got dibs...mines. As always, great work!!
Enjoyed but missed your usual and sometimes comical commentary. But keep them coming 👍 David B. Chichester England
your work is outstanding. what type of wood are you using so you can carve gill plates like that?
Another masterpiece! Great work!!! Keep them coming.
Thank you!
That was cool. And very relaxing as well.
Anyone watching rn and realized how close the head design is to the roman made expensive bait
Maravillosa artesanía para pescar. Felicitaciones desde Santa Fe, Argentina.
Question: What is the casting resin you are using to make the parts?
I just realized that these babies can also be 3d printed 😮
But you can't beat hand crafted quality with 3d printers.
So I make lure blanks with silicone and let it dry for 24-48 hours before I mess with it
I'm curious as to why you vacuum cambered your mix before applying it to the wax mold?
watching you put shot BBs in mold was interesting, though I assume your baits are silent doing it that way.?

Trens de Pesca - Brasil - Parabéns, seu trabalho é sempre muito bom!!!
what wood do you use?
Nice work, your realy inspires me to make my own lures. one problem my baits wont get a nice swimming action. do you have som advise?
Thank you! It’s all about weight placement, bouyance of the body, and surfaces that interact with the water.
Great work Nate
Thank you!
im curious how you attach the hook and line loops? i might have missed it in the video.
Mini key rings is what I and most people use.
Although this is one year later, so you prolly already found it 😝
Beautiful work. How many baits can you typically get out of one mold?
Ive never been so connected to a person that listens to joe rogan pod cast
What did you do to the alumilite in the pot with the lid? Speed up the curing process? I use alumilite high strength for my handpour swimbait molds and I've never had to do anything like that.
Its like a vacuum, removes all the air/bubbles, if I'm not mistaken
Listening to that JRE😂

What did you use to seal the wood prior to painting?
nice very impressive but I think in the colder months they would work better slowly retrieved along the bottom with short twitches to look like wounded fish
Awesome! You obviously know what you are doing, but a I have a small suggestion. A set of French Curves may be helpful when drawing your designs.
Thank you! Yeah I need to make myself something like that. I’d make good use of it.

What type of wood do you use to make your lures ?
勉強になりました!私もこんなルアーを作ってみたいです!
These old alpha first person vids are great. Third person character even better for entertainment value. Should think about a channel A + channel B.
love your videos butifull craftsmanship
Do you ever think about making these lures on a 3d printer?
Sort of.. I’ve wondered how much detail you’d be able to get with one. The plastic would need to be a good buoyancy too.
Marling Baits Beautiful lures by the way. Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about trying it with one. I fear if I can't completely close the outside it would slowly hold water.
How can I purchase some the lipless that you were making or any other baits.
How much for one of your lures!? My turn to get one stuck 🤣 jkjk but seriously I'd love to get a nice deep diver if possible!
How can I get the lure you were testing at the end of this video?
Hey u should def start a buisness w them name it marlings custom exotic baits and catch phrase should be like on to the next bait or.. do you think it even works ? .. but great work so far I’ve not seen one yet that’s lacking any quality great job
Hi! How many grams of silicone for making molds is required per mold? Approximately. If the bait is 15-17 centimeters
Love your videos.. usually you describe what your doing in every video and what fish your trying to mimic and the steps your taking to get there. Its very intriguing to hear all the details that you put in to each lure. This video seems very quiet. I hope everything is ok.
I love all of your work you do it has inspired me to start making my own baits but after all these videos I wonder what type of writing utensil you use
so how dose it wobble side to side with no lip? im trying to make a bait aaand it isnt having that motion
Hey excellent craftsmanship. I've made some wooden baits so far, but am thinking about getting into making molds. Do you use different paints for soft plastics or is the createx fine? different final epoxy or just same envirotex lite? thanks!
Thank you! I use createx and envirotex on both wood and resin baits. No difference in the end results.
I have really enjoyed watching your videos and seeing the progression of your work, it keeps getting better. You are very talented, Thanks for all the great videos . What model Airbrush you use?
Thank you and thanks for watching! I use an Iwata airbrush
Ты просто монстр!!!))
hey mate love your work what sort of clear do you use on your lures
Thank you! I used a 30 min. epoxy on these. I'll also use Envirotex Lite as a clear coat too.
+Marling Baits okay nice very good job i have no luck making rock hard epoxy i have tried 5 minute and 30 minute also super strength 24 hour epoxy and its still no good
What type of wood do you use when making these lures
super,,, bro👌🏻👍🏻😊
really want to start getting into making my own crank baits. how much would you charge me for a mold ? if you eve would be interested in that
Wow
What size ss wire is used for the hook eyes and line tie eyes?
Ik you dont sell anything you make. Its for personal use. But man. I would definitely buy some of ur items.. Great job...
You are a great drawer..
What is the stuff he sprayed on the paper to stick it to the wood
Spray adhesive. Use a glue stick. Its less messy!
Can you do this method of making baits for Square bills???
Make a largemouth bass lure, a squid, a goldfish, a plecostomus, a frog, a lizard, and a baby carp 😏
Hej buddy! When you put the stencil on to the Wood there is a County Song in the background! Pleace help me man what is the name of the Song! Om going crazy over here😂👊👊
