When she says at the end of that song "have you ever watched your best friend die?" it's like a sucker punch. That's the moment she let's you see why the album is so aggressive.

The latest version of the deeper and deeper for the rebel heart tour is also very good. out of the album I really like the song human nature, as a perfect answer to all those who criticized her for erotica, the video is iconic and even more the version that she did for the mdna tour. Actually that chant that's being sung is by a very famous lebanese singer Fayrouz, Erotica the song was banned in Lebanon because Shep (the producer) stole Fayrouz' voice and didn't credit her in the song, the song he used was El Yom Oulika and it's about the crufcifixion of Jesus so it's an arabic chant but also christian haha From what i've read, he added Fayrouz voice at the last minute and Madonna liked it but he didn't tell her it was from a famous singer, or didn't tell anyone hence why there was no credits given to Fayrouz even though Erotica actually legally samples Jungle Boogie and credits in the single release and album release.

This album came out when I came out of the closet. This album was my coming out album and holds dearly to my heart. Girl the gay clubs were lit back then with madonna. Early 90's soooooo fun!!!! Dancing dancing and dancing plus drinking.

Deeper and Deeper is my favourite Madonna song from ALL TIME. I couldn't care about the rest of the album really(no disrespect for Bad girl and Waiting thou), but that one song is a true gem. Best Madonna album ever and great reaction Fayik! Erotica is always an interesting album because its different for everyone. My fave tracks are Bad Girl (my all time fave Madonna song & it has a GREAT music video that definitely paints a picture like you said & I recommend to react too), Erotica, Where Life Begins, Words, Why Its So Hard, In This Life (has a great performance from The Girlie Show tour with live vocals I recommend another great reaction) and Secret Garden. Since I know you love my stories Fayik I will tell you one from when I was 12 (who was 16) and I was SOOO into this album that I decided to dance naked in my room with red heels on to my BF at the time on webcam to the song Erotica & my dad came in the room, I got into so much trouble Lol great memories from a great album!

I am not a huge fan but that much but that song “Whys it so hard” is really fine, definitely the finest moment on the album, it should have been the album opener.
Also, Madonna was very creative in a sense that before the title track of this album became the lead single, she gave us a glimpse of what she's about to do next from her last controversial song with Justify My Love, that's her first song where it had a mid-tempo groove and she just spoke throughout the whole song, which included in her first compilation album The Immaculate Collection, then she segued and continued that with Erotica.
Overall felt this Album was about 12 minutes Longer than it needed to be - Would love to Hear a 20 Y.o Annivarsary version with Radio edits & replacing 2 tracks (inthislife) with Justifymylove + Rescueme ♥️🌎🎧
I was 19 when this CD came out...so fucking amazing! I was going to the clubs in NYC and you would hear this album and songs everywhere. I will never forget it

If you have not seen the video for Bad Girl you need to watch it. It is heartbreaking. While it's true Sex is a theme on Erotica the album is actually really deep and dark.
You mentioned that the EROTICA album is "not that sexual at all" - yes, now in 2019, it's very TAME compared to the new artists we now have especially with videos that you see...but, keep in mind, this album came out in 1992, the early 90's, we were just coming out of the AIDS epidemic from the 80's, and this album comes out and of course, no artist has EVER done anything like this before, especially a female artist who would put out music content with the first title track being the subject of sexuality, BDSM and a fictional character (Ms. Dita), a WOMAN being in charge of her sexuality and her sexual fantasies. So not sexual at all in 2019's standards, yes...but in 1992, all I gotta say is, you had to be there to see, hear and FEEL the backlash she got and the controversy that swirled around this album. While hard-core Madonna fans loved this record (including myself), the media did NOT even give it the time of day!

I was 17 when this album was released and it was so everything!! Not only the music, the words, the videos, but her attitude towards sex and the gays... the straight world hated her but most of us felt like... wow!!!! Check the videos ( including the girly show) plus the Sex book... no other female pop artist never ever got that far...

I think you've seen Bad Girl on a tv show which was cabaret-esque but you need to see the amazing video. The Rain video is also gorgeous. When you watch the iconic Erotica video make sure to catch the uncut /uncensored version which will end your life. Also check out the William orbit remix of Erotica which is perfection. Oh and you're spot on - the word is that D&D is all about a young gay guy coming out. x

they teach in dance graphic art class you have to touch the rain. and in love scenes they have to touch the other person. look at them - she waits on the mountain top to see him feel the rain. so we learn film making n' learned some lyrics that we didn't know watching this clip. we never heard some of these songs seems like or don't remember them. looks like we'd remember hearing the lyrics go down so doubt they played it at the mall somehow -maybe. But we didn't hang out there either. that one's like pop stuff n' they use sex to sell it - shocking lyrics seems like to sell it. sells on the CD maybe but never heard it or saw it on videos. we were buying videos. watchign the dancers

I was 17 when this album was released and it was so everything!! Not only the music, the words, the videos, but her attitude towards sex and the gays... the straight world hated her but most of us felt like... wow!!!! Check the videos ( including the girly show) plus the Sex book... no other female pop artist never ever got that far...

I think you've seen Bad Girl on a tv show which was cabaret-esque but you need to see the amazing video. The Rain video is also gorgeous. When you watch the iconic Erotica video make sure to catch the uncut /uncensored version which will end your life. Also check out the William orbit remix of Erotica which is perfection. Oh and you're spot on - the word is that D&D is all about a young gay guy coming out. x

they teach in dance graphic art class you have to touch the rain. and in love scenes they have to touch the other person. look at them - she waits on the mountain top to see him feel the rain. so we learn film making n' learned some lyrics that we didn't know watching this clip. we never heard some of these songs seems like or don't remember them. looks like we'd remember hearing the lyrics go down so doubt they played it at the mall somehow -maybe. But we didn't hang out there either. that one's like pop stuff n' they use sex to sell it - shocking lyrics seems like to sell it. sells on the CD maybe but never heard it or saw it on videos. we were buying videos. watchign the dancers
