Mechanic cannot say it is okay .
If there's a trouble of course there is a reason , many causes have for engine shake or jerk. I cannot describe here .
We got very small engine jerking when idling V6 prado and fortuner.
After our many investigation we found that reason it was from the fan fluid coupling.
You can check it simply .by this procedure.
1.one person hold the radiator fan .
2.other person may start the engine and check the condition. While if you feeling there is no shakes. You should replace fan fluid coupling .
      If there's nothing changes .
Please try the investigation with engine intermittent problems and valve tappet clearance.etc...
Sorry I can't write any more here..,

Hello, I have a question and I hope you will answer it, what is the best wife for this motor, and what do you think about the 5W30?

Can't imagine that this engine lasted very long considering assembly lube was not used on any bearing prior to assembly.

2017 or 2007 why would you even be replacing one? You almost have to intentionally run it without oil to kill one.

The title says it is a 2017 1GR-FE engine. But they must have meant 2007. The engine shown was the early model with single VVT-I and shimmed valves that were last used in 2008. A 2017 has dual VVT-I with hydraulic rocker arm operated valves. They should correct the title.

Is it possible to upgrade the engine from single VVT-i to dual VVT-i?

      There is lots of difference.

@@iamtechnician3563 let's hope for the dual VVT-i 1GR-FE to release in Fortuner if the engine still is supported. They might actually change the engine to 2GR-FE for the future generation which I'm not a fan of that smaller V6

@@CarRevvedGaming maybe the 1GR will become a 1GR-FKS meaning it'll get direct injection?
