About Sanford And Son: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

The smile on Mr. Davis's face ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💯.
Old dude did have a good smile.
@@OneMan-wl1wj 😉
Mr. Davis was also the bank manager on Good Times that was refusing to pay JJ for his mural until James threatened to shove him in the night deposit box.
*_That's right, my friend!! That's him!! Thank you for mentioning that!! You're awesome, dude!!_* 😁 🏆
Mr. Davis was played by James Wheaton. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
😂😂😂 True
That's where I first saw him
😂😂yep
Malvin was NOT foolin around with them coffins 😄😂😭
Got to love Mr. Davis. That guy is hilarious.
He sure is! 😂😂😂
YES, I AGREE WITH YOU. MR. DAVIS IS FUNNY AND COOL.
That is a classic old fashioned episode, just hilarious.😁
@TheChoiceVoice 😄 (lol) “ YEAH!…. And Melvin’s reaction was even more hilarious. ”
That entrance and exit by Melvin...LoL
Cold hands warm chapel 😫 Fred's face😂
That quick greet Melvin gave 😁 Elders were very suspicious about certain things. You didn't play with certain things. Death was definitely one of them.
*_This is my family's favorite episode!! The entire thing is so well-written and well-performed!! Too funny!! Plus, that creepy smile the mortician has is perfect!! He really tormented poor Fred!!_* 😁🏆
I agree. The entire episode is nonstop laughter
“Wooden Overcoats” this episode was halfway through the 1st season. Probably top three funniest episodes in the whole series
Nelson B Davies: "May I asked if you might know who the last owner happened to be?"
Fred: "There's a little old lady from Pasadena. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...a little joke for my profession."
This guy always made me smile, I wish I would have seen more of him
Right Lamont , a mortician doesn't know anything about the value of caskets. Keep on keepin' on😂
If you change your mind give us a call business is dead 😅😅🤣🤣
😮😅
Fred Sanford doesn't believe in caskets calling them The Wooden Overcoats
Of every side character this show ever had.. Mr Davis was by far the best of the lot. I wish he was incorporated more during the seasons
What about Doctor Caldwell??
Only on 3 shows... but soo good n funny??
@@mikerincon3565 he was very funny yes. But I loved Mr Davis's simple sense of humor and that piercing smile. He never over did the joke..no excess movements and the punch line came so smoothly.
@@mikerincon3565 You: “what about doc Caldwell?”
Me: “I don’t know” 😊
Doctor Caldwell was hilarious and so was Mr. Davis in this episode.
Sn underrated actor. He's brilliant.
When Fred mock Mr. Davis made it more funny 0:59

I like Melvin. I wish he would have been in more episodes.
Latter that night Fred won't sleep in the house with the coffins and sleeps in the back of the truck. Then Lamont gets to scared to sleep in the house too and joins Fred in the back of the truck.
So funny 😂😂😂
My favorite episode wooden over coats 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣⚰⚰⚰
Mr. Davis, does appear again in a latter episode. He comes back to talk to Fred about burial insurance. Fred is trying to talk and trick Lamont into staying at home.
"It's been a slow week. Business is 🪦"
😂
The actor's name is James Wheaton he appeared on Good Times Sanford and Son and What's Happening
He played a banker on Good Times who called the painting J.J.did on the wall of the bank trash, and refused to pay him, then James told him he'd better pay or he would stuff him in the night deposit box!
That's the greatest episode ever
The best Sanford and Son
Definitely
Ain't nobody in there dummy checked
Fred: See you big dummy I'm lose all my good friends get them things out of the house.
Mr Davis is the same dude that James was going to beat down in an episode of Good Times; he didn't want to pay JJ for a mural he had drawn at his bank.
James was going to stuff him in the night deposit box lol.
@@marcdewey1242 Yep...He changed his mind real fast after James told told him that.
One of my favorite TV shows from the 70s may redd fox rest peas his Vegas home very wonderful 👍👍👍👍
Funny episode, one of my favorite.
They could have started the first Vampire B&B with those coffins.

HaHaHaHaHaHaHa😆😁😀😃🤣😂😛😜🤪
Would You Stop That
A lil joke for my profession 😭😭
Fred told lamont that he should have sold them to mr davis for 30.00.
Lamont said that is only 5.00 profit.
That makes no sence.
Lamont wanted 25.00 for each casket.
Mr davis offered 25 for both. Then mr. Davis took it up to 30.00.
Was that for both, or 30.00 for each?
Either way. What lamont said is wrong
That was bad writing or a mistake on lamonts line.
Let me know if you agree or if im wrong. Thanks.
*_Excellent question, my friend! I believe Lamont paid $25 for both already and wanted to double their money 💵💰 by changing $25 each but Mr. Davis offered $25 for both (same amount Lamont paid) and then increased it to $30 for both but Lamont refused it because they'd only make $5 profit (for the two [or $2.50 profit for each coffin ⚰️]) at that price. I hope this helps!_* 😁🏆
*_I love my fellow Sanford & Son fans!_* ♥️🌹
@@911Truther69 20% profit without much labor invested isn't so bad, I think Lamont should not have held out so long. Sometimes it's better to move something fast than to wait for just hte price. Otherwise you end up sitting on stuff for a while, especially if (like these caskets) they aren't particularly good looking or flashy.
@@911Truther69 Hello to you. Thank you much for your kind, positive 🙏 and respectful reply.
Yes. You opened up my eyes a little more. And I really do appreciate you ❤️.
Your comment is also very true and correct.
Its funny. Coz, my thoughts from earlier, to reading now your words about what really happened. Thanks. I really was thinking of what profit was Lamont talking about?
The profit from really what he paid for, or the profit from what he was asking.
I had forgot what he paid, and you are correct.
But, im my mind. I was thinking of the profit that lamont was talking about only making which was from not what he paid, but for what wanted, coz i kept thinking, that he wanted 50 for each, but then he was losing, and losing, and how was there a loss of only 5.00? But, i was looking at what he wanted and not what he paid. Lol. Haaaa.
Thats why i had to ask if i was right or wrong, and could i get some help, please, lmao.
Maybe i was half correct. Lol. Thank you again.
Blessing,
Glen
I didnt want to sound rude or cocky that i was exactly right, coz i am not that way.
And i knew i was looking at it wrong, like i had something twisted, go ahead say it, it was my mind, haaa haaa. Lmao.
Lamont wanted $50 a piece not $25
@@Yoogi-ed3hz yes. Good catch. I had 25 on my brain. I guess when i meant to type 50, that darn 25 interferred, lol.
Thanks for the correction.
Amazon Prime has removed this show and It's been my go to show my whole life when I felt like I needed a friend.😪😪
Don’t worry it’s back on there again
Melvin was GONE!
Cold hands, warm fa...
Today if they'd make funny shows like this perhaps I'd give it the time of day but the political one-sided woke garbage pretending is the truth, dudes get out of my life!
I agree
You guys bring politics into everything but you get upset when it's about you guys, can't have your cake and eat it too!
