ABOUT SANFORD AND SON: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

I’m 25 and I had great grandmas that kept me watching S&S since I was a baby lmao
That's a blessing that you got to know your great grandmothers.
Fred was sleeping in the truck. Lamont comes outside and ask Fred are you sleeping? Fred said no, I am checking my eye lids for cracks!
😂😂
One of the best shows ever..
Yes
Not as good as the original.
@@Trebor74 What was the original?
Steptoe and Son?
Last year I got my picture taken sitting in the pickup truck, it's in the exact condition it was when the show was filmed.
It's at a place in North Royalton Ohio call Blueline Classics, you can see it on their website Bluelineclassics.com.
Coincidentally I happened to go to see it the day after Nathaniel Taylor died, he's the guy who played Rollo, Lamont's buddy.
The dash and visors have been signed by most of the surviving cast members including Demond Wilson and the two guys who played the cops and Mr Taylor.
Lamont: Brown will go with anything.
Fred: ...and so will THIS BROWN go with anything! (holds up a fist) 😅😅
This episode is one of the best
Most definitely
Yeah you are right
Fred: And so will this 👊brown go with anything😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣😅😂🤣😅😂🤣😅😂
One of my favorite S&S episodes ❤🤣

This has to be my fave episode. 😅😂🤣

Lamont was scared Sleeping in the House with those Coffins
funny episode, he makes me cry laughing every night
LAMONT: “you’ll be a cripple from the neck down”.
FRED: “Then we’ll be a perfect match, because you’re a cripple from the neck up”.

Fred didn't want to be a pallbearer 😂😂 LoL.
I love that show when i was a shorty. The cast kept me laughing

And what that one you told me a cat yowling at midnight means there's going to be a death in the house😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You hear that Elizabeth I'm coming to join you honey best catchphrase on sitcom television
Like many other early Sanford episodes, this was an almost word-for-word remake of a Steptoe and Son ep. It's called "The Wooden Overcoats" and you can find it on UA-cam. The Steptoe version doesn't have my favorite joke from this, though--Lamont's little ventriloquist act with the coffin.
My favorite show
Don’t blame Fred for freaking out. I’d do the same.
God I wish there was something even remotely as funny on tv today. Hilarious!
Fred was Awesome !
Hello fred hello lamont goodbye fred goodbye lamont 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh so his mean tail punked out, lol
Loved to have seen the entire episode 😁
Its ironic and sad that he actually died of heart attack and his fellow actors thought he was just acting
R.I.P
The coffins of the 70's look a whole lot smaller than the coffins of today
That is what was wrong with them, actually!
just got the complete series
thx 4 the 😂 Redd
Other than the trip to" let's make a deal".... this is my favorite episode of all time!😇
Your clue is air. "Air, air... a year supply of mouthwash!"
@@seanlewis9291 remember when Fred & Bubba ran onto the stage to collect Fred's prize.....? a watch... well watch when Fred pulls the curtains down from the set of "let's make a deal.' it's one of the funniest comedy acts I saw as a child. But, it's still really funny.😊

Sanford and Son was one of my favorite TV show when I was growing up, Fred Foxx was great, but Damond Wilson was the perfect actor to play his son, they had perfect chemistry. 💯
No these are not staying out here !!

Bwahaha 🤣 😂🤣
James Best had the funny joke on The Dukes Of Hazard. He said What did one casket said to the other casket? Is that I hear you coffin? Funny joke if I said so myself!
FRED: AK T NOTHING GON HURT ME IM FINNA GET ME SOME SLEEP......GOODNIGHT JACKIE😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The first season is SOLID GOLD FUNNY!!!!!!!!!
One of the greatest episodes
Fred had at least nine heart attacks.
I have the DVDs of Sanford and son all of the seasons
Over my dead body 😂😂😂
This show have so many quotables
Redd and I met waiting on the same flight to Hawaii in 76, he was drunk as as a skunk.Had some conversation with him, don,t think I understood a thing he said.
@t w I checked, you are a stupid troll with 1 subscriber.
Undertaker the winner
Why would Redd Foxx travel alone to Hawaii, from L..a.? But if so, I hope you looked at for him and didn't allow anyone to steal his money, or suitcase's?
@@bakenumber4 I did not say he was alone , in fact he had huge black bodyguard with him that attended to his every whim and looked quite scary.
Aired 3-10-1972, 50 years ago today.
Red Foxx by far is the best TV Show Comedian ever...........
Geeeeeeeeeee

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Before Sanford and Son, it was a British TV show called Steptoe and Son, and this is a remake of one of their episodes, right down to the coffins and heart attack. ;-)

When I first saw this episode, it made me laugh!
Oh your son bought me a wooden over coat
He reminds me of Richard Pryor
Richard Pryor actually wrote one of the episodes. It's the one episode where Lamont falls in love, who Fred thinks is his sister. That episode was so funny,Lmao;)
@@thomasjones4265 wow I never knew
@@thomasjones4265 True. Richard Pryor wrote that episode along with Paul Mooney, which is called "Sanford and Son and Sister Makes Three". They also wrote the episode called "The Dowry" in which Fred's cousin Grady comes to visit with his wife and their obese daughter who stands to inherit $10,000 if she gets married. Her parents and Fred then proceed to try to hook her up with Lamont. One of the classic lines from that ep was Fred saying to her, "Well, you oughtta stop messin' with them glands." haha Both eps are from season 2 (1972-73)
@@bholaoates1542Great episode forgot about that one,I remember the toast scene,"To The Grandparents"😆and Lamont telling Fred he will be moving away.
