In Tanzania we have so much Aventurine its sold by street vendors in cultural centre shops. Bought a pendant last year and got another one just recently. Very beautiful stone. Also its extra vibrant in person almost jadeite like, with sparkly grain inclusions.
Nice to see the underrated sphene get some love! It’s such a distinct & dazzling gemstone, & it’s dispersion?! Outta this world!
I just got my first sphene. Pear cut about 5 carat set a gold pendant. Orange with beautiful trichroism and brilliance. I'm in love
oh woww, boleite may not be my request but i sure as heck wanted an unboxing on it. it's so interesting!
Wow! Awesome! Love the showing of Libyan Desert Glass! Thanks💗 Loved all the showings of unusual rocks. 💎
I think an episode on all types of gem Feldspars would be cool. From everything to Labradorite types to Sunstone types to Moonstone types. I've found a lot of "common" Moonstones the ones that reflect light from multiple stacked layers, mostly white, grey, and black but I have found one that is almost like it wants to be blue which is very rare, and in very good quality too. I plan on making a ring with it when I can.
I have also found a few gem quality Orthoclase (white clear ones with a little bit of translucent quality to them) and also some gem quality white Sapphire.
All of that from a deposit of alluvial rocks taken from a river somewhere and used to fill in the walkways in the gardens in my neighborhood. If you know what you're looking for you can find valuable stones almost anywhere.
I love titanite. One of my first discoveries on my gem journey.
Man Libyan desert glass looks cool and the story behind it..:
Main piece on king tuts burial necklace? How did Egyptians even find it? I read somewhere they performed many rituals with this stone . I bought a piece I’m excited to recieve it !!
I would love to see a video about Menilite Opal, it's underrated yet so interesting! This video was great, love to see Boleite get some well deserved attention!
It would be good for a video talking about many varieties of Opal at once like normal Opal, Fire Opal, Boulder Opal, Menilite as well as rare and not well-known varieties like Forcherite, Isopyre, or Quinzite.
I'm interested in ancestralite, Gaia stone, indigo gabbro, Lemurian seed quartz, metamorphosis quartz, and realgar.
I'd also like to see growing crystals experiments.
I really appreciate the service you provide to learning.
I love your energy Rebecca and I enjoy Elizabeth. She is so scientific and I love that.
How about iris agate?! A lot of people don’t know about it and it’s incredibly cool!!
Also holley blue agate is pretty rare and the color is gorgeous. My favorite color, blurple ;) You must have done fire agate by now right?
Looking at good clean Sphene is like looking thru a kaleidoscope. Love good Sphene!
I wrapped a nice Libyan desert glass piece and always wear it around my neck. It's one of my favorite.
8:44 daaaang that is one massive molecule! Super cool mineral.
woah!!! noob here!!!! mind blown...i never even got to bust open a geod as a kid...i did have a neat rock collection tho...likely what got me interested in science...kids need stuff like this...all kids should have a rock tumbler while they are still kids...im still a big kid!!! peace and love
Those gemstones shown in this video are very unique.😯😀💎 I never heard some of them until now.🤨 It's very fascinating on how they're form and get there color. Since you asked, can you show alexandrite, sunstone☀️💎 and smoky quartz on your next viewers requested video.😊 Thanks for sharing and good video.🙂👍💎
Christopher sounds sooo much like Greg from Steven universe!!!
Also requests: maybe like fluorescent minerals or something about crystal families (beryl family, corundum family, etc) 💜
Hi guys sorry I haven't been around my phone was out of data but I really enjoy people like me and you all talking about science and geology gemology etc etc we ought to go all together on a field trip somewhere.
Some of these I've never even heard of before. Thanks to JTV, I've learned so much about so many gem specimens and minerals. Could you guys do a video on Black Spinels? I bought a faceted parcel from JTV years ago and gave my son 2 of them as a birthday gift. He took them to a local jewelry shop to get them turned into stud earrings and they told him they were fake because they'd never heard of them before :-(.
Can you please make an episode about all gemstones coming from space ,thanks
The desert glass was formed when a meteorite exploded above the area, calculations were done, and concluded that it was like 3 Hiroshima bombs. This was above the area where this tektite is found. Amazing!
I don't mind the technical babble. The process of Shattuckite after Malachite is basically Silicon replacing the Carbon in Malachite.
Where’s Natalie? Elizabeth is great but just wondering.
Love! Thank you! So wonderful!
As far as Gemstones that have higher dispersion than Diamond, nothing beats Sphalerite. When gem quality and faceted, it has 3x the dispersion of Diamond.
I wish you would have shown a better quality of faceted Sphene.
It's also known as the "Christmas Tree" stone due to it's intense flashes of red & green.
I was waiting for this episode. Thanks JTV team. 🙏❤ Stay safe..
They also tend to create and scatter material like his whenever they do weapons testing out in the desert. Incendiary devices and blasts like that of the atomic bomb, generate an enormous amount of concentrated heat when detonated. I don't know how Cleopatra could have mistaken the glass of the yellow green hue to be emerald. But maybe it's just a bit of false information passed on through the SANDS of TIME. Bahahahaha
Am so happy aventurine was here its my favorite crystal ❤💞
yayyy sphene! 💚 💚 💚
I suggest euclase and iris agate for another request video
Love this channel sad its not more popular
I have a piece of green Aventurine just like that one but it is more translucent and has less mice inclusions in it. It is a dark green just like that one though. I plan on making cabochons out of it for rings and bracelets
I would love to see epidote or Colorado topaz (specifically the Tarryall mountains topaz lol).
Yes you really do indigo gabbro it's mine and my husband's favorite stone, its what our wedding rings are made of,and if u put our names together you'll get gabbro (jeffro&gabrielle/gabby
Have you done holly blue, fire agates , alexandrite, or moissanite ? Thomsonite zeolite? grandidierite? I could go on for hours but dnt worry i will not
Great job with the video, fantastic addition of the time stamps (which is very special and important for me) and an overall excellent job.
Now Where is Natalie?
Seems like I’ve been seeing less of Natalie and more of the others.
natalie has left the channel to pursue other interests in life, as said by JTV. let's wish her well!
Robert looks like a Movie Star
how about Painite and kyawthuite from burma
I wish that I could get definitive confirmation on what are some of the rocks that I’ve got in my collection.
I got more than a few of similar rocks that are black with a rusty type of areas around all the rocks. I cracked one open and found a small pocket of crystalline carbon.
I have another one that is the size of a child’s fist and is a reddish orange with some interesting cleavage planes. I’ve got all sizes, shapes and colors. But since most of the specimens are field collected, ID ing them on my own will be next to impossible.
I do have different types of fossils made by a multitude of different materials.
Awesome fantastic knowledge and history combined magnificent specimens fantastic selection but really how can one choose so many out there awesome awesome video thank you. Wire gold ,black diamonds , aquamarine, and so on
Tiger iron!
BOlEITE for a long time I wanted to know the name of this mineral, I am from the Baja Peninsula, nearby the town of Santa Rosalia where the Boleo mine is, thank you, this was a great surprise!!
I have two tiny. I mean tiny titanites . They are yellow. Green and red from different angles. Is boleite related to benitoite?
Though they can have similar blue coloring they are not related and are very dissimilar in their gemological properties. Benitoite is much harder and has a high birefringence being hexagonal (doubly refractive), while boleite has no birefringence, being cubic (singly refractive). Though boleite is the softer mineral it is about 30% more dense than benitoite.
Benitoite is part of a larger group, boleite is not. Benitoite has a fairly simple chemical formula while Boleite’s is much more complex . Boleite is always blue but benitoite can be colorless or even pink.
Bruh boleite's chemical formula is so crazy
Andalusite....? Ever mention this mineral in a video?
So is Natalie gone now? She hasn’t been in a video for a month or two now, just kinda curious
Natalie left the channel to pursue other interests and we wish her the best. We have got loads of gems and info to share with you.
@@gems I am happy for her but at the same time I’m sad to see her leave. She was an excellent teacher. She was the face and heart of JTV. Natalie will be missed.
That green Sphene resembles peridot
Ajoite!
cherry red Mexican fire opal, please?
I love y'all's video and I would want to see what you guys think about larimar.
We did a Larimar video awhile back, check it out: ua-cam.com/video/LXnCHiunhxs/v-deo.html
...and there's a good chance you'll be seeing more on this channel in the future.
How do you know sphene is still radioactive or not without an expensive testing lab?
20:22 OH MY that color & crystal combo!! 💚💙
I hear sphene called titanite, are they the same?
Can you guys do a video about Jedi Spinel?! 😃
You guys should talk about stibnite lol
Any one ever going to do one on Sugilite? I don't remember seeing jtv do it.
We’ll see what we can do…
@@gems Tango
I have stones iron rocks
I always thought Libyan Desert Glass was created by the lightning strikes out in the desert, that are fairly common in sandstorms when all that electrical energy is released and has the opportunity to hit something conducive out in the sand. Like an old abandoned vehicle or sword or anything of that sort.
That would be Fulgurite
Does Libian Desert glass, have any Radiation?
Please do aquamarine all colours wanna see deepest aqua n where its from
could we please goodelite
🤔
