Top level AoE II gameplay is just fascinating to me, especially from the players point of view. Really liked the video and the clear and precise commentary on your thought process/decision-making.
Really excellent video. There's a noticeable lack of high level aoe2 strategy/explanations. Survivalist is the main exception for me. Most pros just chill on the ladder (which is fair, they're streaming all week). Saying how your villagers were actually defended because the opponent would lose an archer if they went in was a fantastic read, something I've never thought of and never heard a commentator say. Really looking forward to this series!

Hi Hera, I played 600+ archer civ matches, but more losses than wins. Surprisingly, I do better with cavalry civ. Enjoyed your archer tips video. Any chance for a video on improving archer civ gameplay? Would be really helpful. By the way, my ELO is currently 1087.
Did your opponent make a mistake by not attacking with the spears as well so he could defend his archers vs your scouts? I guess he was afraid of your scouts attacking him again but as he was all in on the attack anyway maybe the risk would be worth it?
i mean the scout never realy hit the archer anyway it was mainly the skirm, skirm counter archer and spears also spear are slow so it would be ineficient to do a long travel time to get rekt by skirm and be expose to counter atack since scout move way faster i guess
I've stopped playing for a while, been about an year and a half since I've seen Good Game, and he still doing the same thing lol he does this EVERY game. So boring.
You can't even imagine how dangerous this strategy by red was. He constantly destroying 2k1 players with this cheeky strats. Forward ranges, using vils forward to tank against skirms. This was just solid defence by Hera and faster moving skirms helped here as well.

i saw this and tried to do a 17 pop in enclosed. And he persian douched me :(
if you are vs Persians, just keep calm and fill all the spots with palisade / houses :D
"Always place houses to form a wall" if you're at a high enough Elo to justify the delay without getting housed
