    If your ok with cis kids going through puberty you should be ok with trans kids going through puberty of their choice.

    I find it ironic, how, you can be underaged and have consent with your sexuality, but at the same time have no consent with the law having sex until to you are 18. But apparently the former is ok. Also, taking anabolic steroids is illegal in the US, but you can dope up to become a feminine looking person with no issues, and even have insurance cover it. Our society is absolutely disgusting.

    Medical intervention should not be the first step I agree, dignified therapy support to help people understand themselves is needed though this is non existent currently from an NHS point of view and waiting lists are long. I was lucky enough to pay privately for a lot of my transition.
    Also surgery should not be considered for under 18s, this should be when someone becomes an adult and realise themselves if it’s right for them

      I definitely agree with this! I do think someone can be feminine and gay. I think the mental health services in this country are absolutely appaling and disgusting.

      therapy isn’t needed necessarily unless you assume being trans is pathological. if parents and society don’t stigmatize it, there’s no reason a trans child can’t grow up without needing psychiatric care. and about surgery- what about circumcision, rhinoplasty and breast reduction? should those also be outlawed for minors in all cases?

      @@madeline_alice I've pointed out many times that circumcision is literally genital mutilation and is done to kids, but always find people defending it.

      @@madeline_alice I can understand what you mean, I just meant in my experience and many other trans people I knew needed therapy from the trauma of being born in the wrong body. I didn't mean in the sense of stopping it fully I meant there needs to be more understanding and support.

    There is no such thing as a "trans child", anyone wishing to create such a thing needs to be arrested. What someone wants to do at 18 is their own affair

      Nope, according to current knowledge trans people are trans since their birth. The gender non conforming behaviors and/or emotions of gender incongruency begin to emerge either since infancy or latest around puberty. That doesn't mean there aren't people who realize they are trans much later in life, but even then, they can trace back indicators their transness way into early childhood.
      I understand the concern about some Karen wanting her kid to be trans, because a "vegan" cat is not enough, but one, being trans is no longer sort of trendy, we are in a climate of moral hysteria and backlash, so that is an outdated concern, and second it basically sounds like defining any other parenting style than one of severe gender suppression is supposedly abuse. This is completely trans denialist. Even if you don't want any medication for those below 18, at least allowing them to express themselves differently cannot have any negative side effects.

    • @davidgreen6490

      @mik1984 Nope, according to current knowledge the trans/leftist cult will be smashed in the next few years. You will mot be allowed to cut body parts off kids anymore.

    I totally understand wanting to support your child in whatever way they need.
    But also when it comes to puberty, I'll speak on behalf of myself and all my gal pals, SO many girls during their formative years are uncomfortable with their femininity, with how they look and feel that sometimes it's way more comfortable to pass/be seen as a guy. Most times it might even feel safer to be seen as a guy ykwim
    I think it's a huge learning point that everyone needs to goes through is to figure out how to be comfortable/tolerable with how they are physically. Clothes and hair and makeup and binders(safely) will do just fine until a person reaches the age where they've PROPERLY experienced maturity and adulthood to be able to make that distinction on whether medical intervention is a needed. It's an adult decision and they should reach adult age/maturity to make it.
    People need to remember that kids can be kids, let their imagination let them explore life first.

    I transitioned at 14. But i belive that when it comes to minors, there should be a LOT of psychiatric evaluation and transitioning should be a last resort. If we start giving puberty blockers at random that's how we get dentransitioners.

    A couple of comments on blockers:
    1. We don’t know the long term effects.
    2. Once the pubertal window closes, you won’t go through puberty after you stop taking them.
    3. Prior to puberty blockers being used up to 90% of kids grew up out of gender dysphoria. To put another way, if you give all dysphoric kids blockers you may end up with ten trans kids when nine of those would have been happy without transition.
    The best known treatment for childhood dysphoria is therapy and support and puberty. If dsyphoria persists after puberty then medical options should be considered.
    On a final note, you may be aware that WPATH are set to recommend vulvaplasty to kids that have received blockers. This is because blockers leave the penis too small and underdeveloped to be used to form a neovaginal canal. So if you take blockers you may well never get a vagina

    • @kastandlee
      @kastandlee 3 місяці тому +3

      So presumably you would oppose blockers for cisgender children with early puberty as well, since "we don't know the long term effects," right? And by the way, how many studies, and for how long a period, would be enough? 10 years? 20 years? 50 years? 150 years? Never?

    • @madeline_alice
      @madeline_alice 3 місяці тому +3

      1. we do, they’ve been used on children for over 40 years.
      2. puberty blockers are not used until after normal puberty cannot occur when they stop. hrt also provides secondary sex characteristics. the scientific evidence does not say that dysphoria’s best treatment is therapy. and jeezus penile inversion is not the only technique for vaginoplasty. i plan on a peritoneal-pull through.

    • @grieffoundation8451
      @grieffoundation8451 3 місяці тому +1

      Using blockers for precocious puberty allows for normal triggering of pubertal development in pubertal window.
      Using blockers during pubertal window has obvious issues.
      See Cass, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands etc etc.
      Blocking puberty is stopping the no1 curative process for dysphoria.
      Peritoneal pull through has other issues. That tissue adheres to itself, dilators etc. Look up case of Brianna Ivy.
      All this is avoidable by not using blockers.

    • @grieffoundation8451
      @grieffoundation8451 3 місяці тому

      Brianna Ivy - no genitals after peritoneal pull- thru after blockers left her with a micropenis
      Jazz Jennings - operated on by the chair of WPATH.. Has a vagina made from penile tissue, peritoneal tissue and thigh tissue. Also, due to being left with a micropenis after taking blockers.
      Those on blockers now may not be offered a vagina at all if that doctors follow the new WPATH guidance

    • @madeline_alice
      @madeline_alice 3 місяці тому

      @@grieffoundation8451 peritoneal pull through has just as low a complication and regret rate as other methods. don’t refer to an anecdote and expect it to be taken as evidence.
      yes block puberty does not cure dysphoria- it’s not meant to. transition is the cure. blockers allow for time to wait for gender exploration/confirmation and to allow for the eventual medical transition without the effects of birth-sex hormones on the body’s sex characteristics.

    Most people can pass just with laser hair and HRT in their 20's and even 30's. It's best to not rush into it. Laser hair makes SUCH a massive difference.
