The original version, as Tchaikovsky intended it to be, is a miracle. A miracle for @JohannesMoserCellist's beautiful interpretation, but a miracle also because it took so long, so many decades, to finally be played. Listening the last variation, which was cut from Fitzenhagen's disrespectful edition, and which ultimately became famous and was adopted, is an emotion that brings tears. Thank you very much for this!
Tchaikovsky's version deserves more love. It blends everything together so cohesively and I just love it, and I'm so glad prominent musicians like JMo are recording it.
Truly astounding! What a magnificent rendition of this classic! I've waited a long time for the release of this! However I did not expect a full release for free! So suddenly! Thank you for sharing this!
What a wonderful your performance ‼︎‼︎ Beautiful, Brilliant sounds with orchestra 👍👏👏🎶🎵🎶🎵🎻🍀🌈♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I love this program 😊💕 i'm happy to be able to listen of your performance 😊💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
@@manueljoseblancamolinos8582 No, no, the parallel octaves were written in Tchaikovsky's original for cello and orchestra, cello and piano (by Tchaikovsky himself) and are in the first version, the original one from 1876.
As in Tchaikovsky's other themes and variations (op. 19 no. 6 , third suite op. 55 and piano trio op. 50) the theme appears without repeating the sections in this original version.
What a delight, one of my favorite concerto. My son is learning this piece now, Can you do a master class with this concerto? Thank you for sharing !!!
Such an unexpected treat, thank you.Lovely to see you with an orchestra again, your shares have really been bright spots in lockdown times, I had been looking forward to seeing you perform in Bantry , maybe next year?,
Yes we are talking with Francis about Bantry for next year indeed! Hope to make that work. Thank you for listing to some of the postings, that keeps me going!
Thank you Sir, for this marvelous performance. I played cello with the American River College community orchestra in Sacramento, California. We performed this exactly beautiful variation. I enjoyed every single note, every single tempo. How I miss that time... Bless your heart!@@JohannesMoserCellist
Quite possibly, especially since she's a cellist. I played a concert once with Doc Severinsen conducting and soloing and he was just so unbelievable that night, hitting high notes with such effortlessness, I had to glance back at the trumpet section to see their reaction, and tears were rolling down both cheeks of the second trumpet player.
Beautiful play :) I really like it!! but this is still not the original version :-) Kalmus made an edition that is the closest one to the manuscript. ( specially the ending of the coda ) thry dont add the ending of Fitzrnhagen with the octaves .
Yes, that is true.... But you know, I wasted a good portion of my youth to learn those darn octaves, so now I just NEED to play them now... ;) The correct description of this version is "1876"
This is the original version composed by Tchaikovsky. The version more often performed is the version altered by its first performer, Fitzenhagen, against the composer's will.
Very nice performance of the original version. Maybe only matched by the interpretation of Maurice Gendron (Fitzenhagen version) - more rokoko ease, brillant trill variation, own cadenza. But Gendron is dead, and Johannes Moser is one of the best cellists alive - if not the very best!
@@manueljoseblancamolinos8582 That is correct. It should say "Version 1876", which is kind of a hybrid. But to be honest, I sent a good portion of my youth learning the octaves, and I just can't cut them out....

Merci cher Johannes Moser ! Grand plaisir pour l'Orchestre national d'Île-de-France !

Virtuoso and GREAT ARTIST!!!!!!

Beautiful! More people need to play Tchaikovsky's original version. Fitzenhagen's cut was made against Tchaikovsky's wishes.
In this version the coda continues to be Fitzenhagen's with the parallel octaves. The original coda: ua-cam.com/video/NiibyZlYSss/v-deo.html

I met him in Brasil. Thank you for sharing :)

@@JohannesMoserCellistCongratulations! Is this original version, parallel octaves was written by Tchaikovsky. Martin Osten plays an arranged (final).

That last note senza vibrato, truly charming detail!
An homage to rococo style period playing …. Thank you for spotting that detail 😊

Fantastic ! And which version is it? Did you compose the last variation ? Never heard it before! Thank you!!

No es exactamente la versión original. En la versión original no aparece el pasaje de octavas de la coda.
