Hard body, soft tail - in a day?? 😳 You, sir, are just plain mean-spirited... and I thoroughly approve. But... would you count it as a “build” if our dear Mr. Marling were to use an off-the-shelf soft plastic for the tail? Or maybe use feathers for the “tail”? It may be a challenge but it’s no good if there’s no chance at beating it...
Great! Love it when you talk about the why you use what you use to make these awesome baits! Also, have used your "tip" on the super glue and baking soda!! Keep it up!!
Man, you're both extremely funny and gifted with incredible talent at the same time! I love it! 😍😁 and there was me building at it for 21 years and finally retired this year. Keep it up! 🙌👏👏👏
Try fly fishing for carp! Even a lil 3 pounder can be mighty exciting on a fly rod. And who knows... It might segway you into doing some more lure fishing...
Love the videos. I don’t care if they are one day builds or muti-day builds. Just keep’m coming. BTW... I dig the idea that people are presenting with doing a tadpole bait with developing legs.
Your videos have thought me so much in how to make my own baits. I owe you a huge “Thank You” Marling 🙏🏽. Sometimes your delivery cracks me up 😂. What’s with the stroller? You guys expecting a little baby Marling?!!
Every time I watch your videos I get blown away by your builds!! Keep it up cant wait for your baits to be on the market I have a couple hundred set back just for that lol.
I got to see one my favorites from you at about 8 minutes. The trout mounted on the piece of wood. Blast from the past there. I love the one day challenges! Can't wait to see what you come up with next. and congratulations on the baby. I believe that is what you were showing us there at the end.
Sweden approves of one-day-baits vids. I once saw a bait imitating a school of baitfish - have you ever though of making such a bait? Thanks for your videos.
You're definitely the man when it comes to making baits ,I'd really like to be able to buy some they're really realistic looking for sure, awesome talent my man, keep on keeping on.
Love the one day challenges! I also appreciate how your videos are to the point. Good content, presentation, and editing, not a lot of extra "buy my merch" and intro crap like some channels
Really like the “one days”! I’m a little addicted to the channel. You’ve got some real talent! Chip is an awesome side kick for the channel too. Our family dog passed away suddenly this morning. It’s been a long low day. The videos are a nice distraction. Keep up the one days though! Good stuff!!
I especially like that you are pretty much you in the videos. The editing is good, but you don't take out the somewhat awkward pauses and transitions. It wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it was any slicker in my opinion. I love the one day challenges, but I'd also be interested in a "getting started in lure making" series. Like if you have nothing or have a wood shop (like me) but no lure specific items, what are must haves, what are nice and what are purely optional?
Found this channel today and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Little suggestion for you take it or leave it: I've used a work sharp "knife" sharpener for fine detail sanding to make quick work. Basically a handheld belt sander
hey I just wanted to say your videos are great and I love seeing them pop up on my feed, i'm also a woodworker myself and your a big insparation to me in so many ways. your awesome keep doing what your doing and I hope your channel and bait making business thrive. -Connor R.
Truth. If you wat hall his vids you get alot of great pointers. But i know a lot of people would love a dedicated video to it. Personally i think it would be killer if he makes a series making one or two lures, but break down each step into a video. Id watch it
You have inspired me too try my hand at this. Just finished my first bait and it looks amazing!!! A small tool i found to be a huge time saver was my work sharp!! Google them it's a small belt sander used for sharpening knives. It eliminated all the hand sanding when rounding everything. I also used the ultra fine stroping belt to polish the lexan! Would love to send you a picture of my first lure but not sure how. You have taught me alot. Thanks👍
The term for the knot on the end is whip finish. But nice bail. Another way to do the tails is a hand pour tail mold. That way you can always replace them. And have a different color tail.
Nate, you're a true craftsman, awesome stuff. I would like to see a ghost shrimp or mantis shrimp (saltwater) or maybe a sand flea (think pompano bait).
You should make a glow-in-the dark lure and fish with it at night!
Why at nnnnnnnnight dude? Why not in daaaaaaaaay time maaan?
@@susdad Because its glow in the daaaaark. During the day its liiiiiiight out duuuuuuuuude.
@@jonathangozzo3737 that was my point 👍🏼
Glow baits during the day kill it better than night lol
Loving the one day challenges. Keep up the good work big fella.
"Ok I'm just going to keep the paint simple..."
A couple minutes later...
"ThE FuR nEEdS hIgHlIgHts!"
And the master baiter strikes again...RIP stewart little
Hows pam doing
And the kid
I find your videos more interesting than 99% of tv shows and probably 75% of movies. keep em coming.
I do not care what bait you make. I will watch. I am just fascinated with what and how you do what you do. Thanks
One day challenges rock. Please make more of them and slowly push the limits of what you can make in a day!
1-day tadpole with tiny legs lure???
Hard body, soft tail. It is a challenge after all.
Hard body, soft tail - in a day?? 😳
You, sir, are just plain mean-spirited... and I thoroughly approve.
But... would you count it as a “build” if our dear Mr. Marling were to use an off-the-shelf soft plastic for the tail? Or maybe use feathers for the “tail”?
It may be a challenge but it’s no good if there’s no chance at beating it...
@@ArmchairDeity He did say that he thought he could do anything in a day.
Kuipers Adventures fair enough... he did indeed say that!
agreed
Painting the fur was genius. Looks great!
You should try to make a small frog lure for one of these! just a idea
It definitely looked like a frog to me at around the 6min mark.
Anotherflores91 oi
A baby kitten
These one day challenges are legit. Makes me want to get into lure making
Great Mouse!!! Chip in the berry patch is priceless!!!
Your one of the most talented and fun to watch people on youtube in my opinion
time to make a big ol' bullfrog minnow bait! Also, the baby stroller at the end is a GREAT teaser!!
Man, that paint job was spot on. Well done.
I liked it right off the go!
The hair flip! Hilarious!!
Great! Love it when you talk about the why you use what you use to make these awesome baits! Also, have used your "tip" on the super glue and baking soda!! Keep it up!!
You should collab w 618 Fishing, and make him a special bait.
That would be cool.
Rob that would awesome!
I 100% agree
Rob i was just thinking that. make it a micro lure too that would be cool
Yeah that would be cool!
A freakishly tiny crankbait, he's into that! 😁
Congratulations you two. Love to see a family growing.
The one day challenges are awesome and inspirational!
Perfectly logical choice of words. Dirty wood because you can't get a clean cut ! Lol. Good health and stay safe.
Must be very satisfying catching fish on your own creations. Great looking bait as usual sir.

Best new mini series on the planet
Man, you're both extremely funny and gifted with incredible talent at the same time! I love it! 😍😁 and there was me building at it for 21 years and finally retired this year. Keep it up! 🙌👏👏👏
Really like the one day challenge and the ability to catch a fish the same day.
Love every one of your videos and if at the end that was for your baby congrats man
This dude is great 👍 funny I watched the tad pole video first , and now watching this I could see the gears in his head turning on that tadpole build

Congratulations on the addition! Cool little lure, love the ideas and craftsmanship.
Really enjoying the one day builds, I always land up going fishing after watching.
Cheers from South Africa
Don't stop the one day videos they are great entertainment And informative DB
Never used a lure (I fish for carp) but I can’t get enough of your videos. Keep up the great work.
Try fly fishing for carp! Even a lil 3 pounder can be mighty exciting on a fly rod.
And who knows... It might segway you into doing some more lure fishing...
Remco van Vliet. always like the idea of it... could be the start of something fun.

Smashing the same day lure make and catch challenge !!!

My fav part about ever vid you make is the end result and you fishing with it 😁
Omg what a great ending. The entire video is great++ as usual, but the ending did me in :). So happy for you guys.
Amazing walking action ❤️❤️. You are killing it with these lures!!! More more more!
I really like the one day build format, and the lure too.

These have been great fun to watch and it also gives a better idea of how much work goes into each part of the build :)
These one day build videos are a lot of fun and interesting to boot also that's the most adorable lure ever
Congrats man! Your greatest creation of all.
I love these type of videos keeps me entertained all the way through
I love the shorter videos. Keep showing us stuff we can use around our house. Maybe and old wood spoon into a spoon...if possible.
Love the one day challenges! I also appreciate how your videos are to the point. Good content, presentation, and editing, not a lot of extra "buy my merch" and intro crap like some channels
I love your baits u inspired me to make my own lure it ain't the best but keep up the great work!!!
You make my day better, thanks for your hard work man. And cedar is very good for water compared to other woods.
I like the one day builds. Build that bullfrog tadpole!
I like the one day challenges. Maybe the next one should be a bullfrog tadpole. I miss seeing Chelsea but the family outings should be fun as well.

I really like that you're doing videos more often. I think these one day builds are a good move. You could also do bigger lures in multipart episodes
Man, I love your videos. You have become one of my favorite UA-cam channels!
I especially like that you are pretty much you in the videos. The editing is good, but you don't take out the somewhat awkward pauses and transitions. It wouldn't be nearly as interesting if it was any slicker in my opinion.

The fancy little fly tying knot you were thinking of us called a while finish, hald hitch knots also work well to tie of the fly.
Found this channel today and have been enjoying the heck out of it. Little suggestion for you take it or leave it: I've used a work sharp "knife" sharpener for fine detail sanding to make quick work. Basically a handheld belt sander
Your video inspired me to make my own fishing baits, so far i managed to make minnows, cranks, popper, pencil. And cought few with them. Thank you..

Nate, you're a true craftsman, awesome stuff. I would like to see a ghost shrimp or mantis shrimp (saltwater) or maybe a sand flea (think pompano bait).
Love the lure, also just made my first lure a few minutes ago
Need some merch that says "Bass like Marling Baits
it's official." Great video.
