Yeah I get he was a victim of abuse for ~200 years, and that explains a lot of it. But you'd think someone who'd been through that would at LEAST be sympathetic to other slaves y'know?

@@casulskrrub6423I don’t think they’re just being dicks though. They both have a history of violence and have every reason to be worried about who they bring to camp and what they might do to them . Astarion kidnapped children while under the control of Cazador. And Durge literally can’t control their own body and the guilt of what they did to Alfira is still fresh in their mind and they’re probably worried of it happening again. The camp is full of killers and anyone could turn into a mindflayer any day. Camp is not safe for anyone and it’s actually very considerate of them to tell an innocent child they can’t stay with the literal amnesiac serial killer and their vampire spawn boyfriend.

He will also admit to manipulating your feelings if you romance him in Act 2 before being partnered- then proceed to manipulate your feelings asking if you don't agree to him continuously trying to get you to mascara the other spawn who were also abused. Also his beginning Act 3 line of before you into the town before Baldurs gate where he has a speech about Cazardor he will tell you "he doesn't mind that Cazador abused others just that he did it to him" .
Depends on how you play and if you're a TAV or Durge tbh. I think through majority of the game he's more chaotic good typically by default. With his behavior and backstory, I think it's mostly a front when he says out of pocket type stuff. Otherwise throughout the game I feel he has potential to be good or evil. Just depends on how you play. 🤷
regardless of what playthrough you do hes chaotic evil actually .. idk why you'd think hes good when he was evil before becoming a vampire
Asatarion: disapproves helping people, approves racism, approves actively murdering people who helped you, disapproves not aiding in the murder of the same people, approves the slaughter of enslaved people. Good is not a word to describe his morality
@@horseheadlegman414On my play-through he approved of morally good things to. Like telling Myrina’s brother that we will look for his sister, rescuing Volo, etc.
Like all companions, Astarion can definitely go down different paths based on your actions and dialogues
The player can HELP him be LESS evil
But saying chaotic good when the man literally approves of you kicking animals, abusing slaves and then being a dick to children is insane 😂😂

@shenles The "abusing slaves" one got me. I don't think he's ever not approved when being a snide ass to the Duegar if that's what you're referring to? He doesn't really LIKE the helping part because it's yet another thing taking you away from your main quest, but I don't think I've ever had a disaproval to it? Especially since I answer, typically, as myself, which honestly, I'd probably still always go with the snide remarks. But whether perceived as chaotic good or evil, he's still chaotic. Lol. He definitely prefers the chaos of things over literally anything else. I don't think there's a preference to whether it's good or bad, just as long as there's chaos to it.
