    As a DIC - ENFJ, I've learned to lean into chaos (like being a substitute teacher) because it gives me something to provide structure to. I can exercise my ability to initiate social change and situational control when there's chaos. Once order is created or restored, I feel very satisfied.

    My family has all movement in their interaction style and I’m the only one control. I think it has helped me a little bit to be faster at doing things instead of taking my time. However, I’ve noticed how cool and liberating it feels to stay at home alone without my family and just taking my time to do whatever I want (laundry, my make up, clean, dinner, etc.)

    Your comments in ENTJ are so precise! My mom is an ESTJ, she's an accountant (good in numbers and concern with profitability) and invest in real estate (we own 2 buidlings which are both apartment complexes).

    initiating vs responding = extrovert vs introvert, direct vs informativ = few words on the spot vs many words cryptic, control vs movement = structure and milestones vs chaos and need for progress. Is my summary of interaction styles correct?

    I think a lot of people have a hard time believing ESTPs are not starter and movement types. I watched the movie The Fast and the Furious and those guys are ESTPs. I never see them structured or in charge unless they are put in a situation to be that way or they are in their ISTJ shadow.
    I understand they are direct. My ESTP always tells me that she is direct and to the point.

    I’m just now listening to this video. You nailed it. When (as an ENFJ), I feel like my hands are tied and I have no control in a personal situation, over time it does make me lethargic. It’s very weird, because I’m normally a very energetic person.
    I will say, however, that I’m a talker. As is my ESTP stepdaughter. But my ESTJ husband is a man of few words. But when he speaks, it’s always with a lot of practical wisdom. It’s amazing how much insight all four of these types have. My father’s an ENTJ. We’re all deep thinkers.
    Edit: When I say no control in a personal situation, I mostly mean no say. If I’m not heard, or my thoughts aren’t considered and I need to just sit back and say nothing in a destructive situation, I can go to a really dark and negative place in my mind. Can you tell that’s where I’m at right now...? 😑Prayers the only thing that helps me through it.

    I know im a DIC🙊😉 because when i went to a party, i sought out someone whose responding and movement. So in highschool i went to a party. Most of my classmates were clickish so i wanted to hang with someone who was visibly alone. I saw a guy hunched over at a table. I literally pulled up a chair right next to him, smiled big and said "hi Im Emme! And you are?" He lit up like a Xmas tree. We spent the whole party goofing off and sharing stories. I was like that in college too. I met my best friend the same way. She was sitting alone on a bleecher when i asked, "you wanna play volley ball?" I had no idea she would request me to be her roomate and we'd go through a lot of good/bad times together. I don't do well when I'm with people of same interaction styles (well duh haha 😅) I usually end up appearing sheepish... when im actually trying not to overtake them. Im asking myself, "should i respond with sympathy? Information? Or just smile and nod?! Ugh i need to talk to someone else!" 😜😆😇

    I wouldn't say my ENTJ is a man of few words. He's definitely a talker. He wants to tell people about everything he is passionate about in such a way that they love it too. Not sure if this is an ENTJ trait.
    He is a Choleric-sanguine.

    I dont know alot about the other types in this video but the estp I'm involved with is easily brought to reason with encouraged responding. He has had a chance to really calm down a bit as he is in his seventies. The adrenaline junkie aspect of his personality is still there but the trick to winding down the chasing of windmills or the justifiable anger outbursts or impatience is to engage his mind with appropriate questions. He calms right down because a mature older estp (if they survive all the inadvisable risks they take and make it past middle age) has an interesting mind. Their experience balances the intellectual or the idealist. They are well worth the time it takes to calm them down to a more rational calm state. They are also hugely fun at helping you figure out how to create a minds eye construction of something. My estp and I are working on moral issues, spiritual issues, health issues, a cast net we found and rescued together, some bushcrafting projects and he has agreed to help me implement some technical engineering of a few inventions that my mind has conceived while loosening up enough alow my nt to reenergize by his motivational presence. I believe Estps can be either a really destructive force or highly beneficial motivators but it really depends on how they are socialized and educated and nurtured. You really cant let these guys get bored. that can be really dangerous. you also have to make sure their social needs are constantly met. If you do this for them you will have the most loyal supporter you can possibly have. They say intjs which is my type dont deal well with the estp but it can work very well if you are secure in yourself and you figure out what your estp needs. If they get on one of their little crusades and try to make somthing happen you cannot deal with let them figure it out by asking them ok how would this work what would we have to do and get to make this happen. And so on and so forth. Let them talk it out till they realize it isnt worth it or they convince you it is worth it. If you say we they see you as an extension of themselves and treat you with more respect then anyone has ever shown me. I ever have to worry about that fear we intjs have about backstabbing with this one. My estp is the most loyal protective person I have ever met. I am for the first time in my life at ease until I have to stop him from chopping down a tree in ninety degree weather lol. But even that is not too bad because I just fuss and ask him the right questions until he agrees to come in rest and cool off. One thing the estp and intj really get is an appreciation for loyalty we may disagree about some things but we are dedicated to each other and we both know how life was without the fierce loyalty we have for the other. I will not let anything or anyone hurt him and he will not let anything or anyone hurt me.

    I just find it FASCINATING that one of the In Charge types has Ti as one of its top two functions, the same function which is seen as unnecessary complication by Te dominants. What a mystery!!!

    • @benaoao6753
      @benaoao6753 5 років тому +7

      Rami Fakhry ESTP here and this resonates extremely well because I like Te a lot, and used to think I don’t Ti much. Well I had an erroneous representation of Ti use by ESTPs:
      It's worth noting that, unlike the NTP types, ESTPs do not tend to apply Ti toward formal logic or hypothetical argumentation. While they do enjoy a good competition, they may grow irritated and impatient quickly with what they see as irrelevant hypothetical discussion and continual argumentative posturing. (In this way they are easily distinguishable from ENTPs, who will play devil's advocate and dance conversational circles around both friends and foes purely as a means of exploration and entertainment.) When ESTPs do engage in arguments, it's generally a function of removing whatever obstacle (most often another party in disagreement) is preventing them from getting back into the action where they feel most at home. In most cases they'd much rather get back to doing something that makes a tangible and objectively obvious difference to something in the outwardly observable world.

    Crafting a situation where a structure type can't initiate :
    Type them, do a surprise party, initiate talking to them, do things before they talk
    Worked with my ESTJ fellow human, he just watched a bit lost
    Control and initiating comes like such a tie for DICs you basically control one by controling the other

    Love this! Also, I can think of a way where it's possible to force initiating individuals into a situation where they can't initiate: how about being only surrounded by people who don't speak the same language. As an ENFJ who grew up being "foreign" I can say that it's very alienating and stressful when people will only converse with you if you learn their language first, but then make fun of you like you're a huge idiot because you pronounce things funny or make grammatical errors 😬😂

    Can an initiating type with a history of low-self esteem (or cultural conditioning, or even PTSD from childhood abuse) end up behaving like a responder? For eg., they have the strong urge to initiate but get held back by anxiety or negative thoughts, making them come across as responders. I ask because I know women like this, particularly those who have been raised in very rigid, traditional households. I personally don't initiate unless the circumstances push me to it and there is no other way, then yeah, I get extremely initiative and will start acting like ENTJ (too lazy and too lost in my own head otherwise).
    Another question, which types are most likely to have OCD?

    At first I thought I can’t be control Bec i can be very quick reactive deciding and delegating and problem solving (estp I believe). And I don’t view myself as NEEDING to take my time, Bec when it’s needed I’m alllll BOOM BOOM BOOM done. Lol. I think of it more as very insistent and going to move at the personally preferred time flow lol. Or personally designated/decided to move at flow. Bec in a crisis or panic and everyone is BLAHHH AHHH I def move immediately into action problem solving delegating etc while everyone else is still spinning and confused. But I realize now that that is just immeidately ordering the chaos 😂 rather than “thriving “ in chaos it’s more a… able to bend chaos back into order efficiently af , which is often BEFOFE the chaotic/movement types have finished yapping and reporting random useless facts that are slowing down getting shit done. 🤣😂 hmm. Anywhoooooo.
    Also number of words versus quality/efficiency or reason for speaking I think are diff things. I can talk a lot sometimes but I am always in trouble for the directness. And informative peoole i immeidately have physical energy and am resisting the urge to scream HURRY TF UP WHAT IS UR POINT GET TO IT. lol 😂 so again makes me feel like informative people are always being incredibly slow , vague and creating work lol when communicating. Which to me (from my perspective ) slows down commjnication. But now that I’m clear on how all the words and labels are being used In this context here I got it. I’m def control type af 😂

    Can you talk a lot and still be an ESTJ or an ENTJ? If ESTJs and ENTJs are not talkers then both my dad and my sister are ESFJs with an ENTJ demon.
    I know ESTPs are not major talkers. I think ENFJs are actually major talkers. I know of a few ENFJs on UA-cam who talk a lot in their videos like Megan LaVita.
    By the way, Linda Berens believes that she is an INTP in all four sides of her mind. She said on UA-cam that even in her subconscious, unconscious snd superego she is an INTP.

    I initiate sometimes and I can do it when I like someone I do it easily and I'm responding also, so what's that supposed to mean? And I'm INFP, can you explain it please ?

    I know this video has nothing to do with INFJs but you are completely wrong about them not having rationale. I also noticed in your video about INFJs, you describe immature and unhealthy behaviors. Might I suggest surrounding yourself with more mature versions of this archetype for a more balanced view on them?

    • @lwyz8a

      I believe he just said that because they both have Te trickster (second to last function) which in previous videos he said that the trickster is the function you mostly don't even know you have.

    • @polmak1507
      @polmak1507 5 років тому +1

      He doesn’t describe them that way at all. INFJs literally lack rational because of Te trickster, what they have is logic, with Ti child. Watch his videos without taking things personally and seeing everything as judgement. The INFJs have been so glorified by dumb internet articles and communities with no real knowledge of actual jungian psychology, we’re not rainbow-shitting unicorns, we’re exactly as human and flawed as every other type.

    • @jesselki1814

      Pol Mak He should do a video on how “Te Trickster” prevents INFJs from having rationale then. If there actually is one, fee free to point it out.
