at the drive in was jim's sparta and omar and cedrics mars volta clashing together, when it split we got to see the separate components, i think its kinda cool. anyways, awesome song, what a great voice, and live too, which is rare these days.
The Mars Volta is my favorite all-time band, but I fucking love Sparta. Liking TMV has nothing to do with liking Sparta/ATDI...if it does then you are closing your mind. Both bands are incredible for their own reasons.
do you remember the days? did you forget those days? what would the oddsmakers say? would the oddsmakers say? Were drinking on jet streams through to ideas won't happen laid out on benches through to sink for this reason
esses caras sao muito bons mas deviam se juntar a antiga banda at the drive in e fazer um show memoravel ou melhor dizendo que tal no rock in rio brasil
its ok, he needs distortion though. and he even sings with a chorus pedal sometimes, his regular voice is pretty cool if you're a sparta fan! this acoustic really brings it out
@noisecape actually technically speaking jim actually isn't a good singer he has horrible technique that's ok though you don't have to have great technique to have appeal or raw emotion, which can be a lot more important. but by technical standards jim is not a very good singer
Fundamentally using his vocal cords in an untraditional manner sets him appart from the rest and the result is pure art. For example Shannon Hoon did not sing from his stomach but rather his throat. Shannon made magic.
10 year later and Jim Ward is still an amazing musician. timeless song!
great. first time i listen to this song was in 2007. Sparta is one of these bands i'll ever listen to.
Perfect. Impeccable. Utter.
I always love Sparta's raw sound, brings me back every single time
This is one of my very favorite live performances ever!
