Just made a fusion of this and your cheap chilli. The Chorizo is cheaper than the mince (albeit half the weight) - but I made it more beany and added a small tin of sweetcorn. Its delish.
Well cool dish Adam, as always your in touch with the challenging times of the day realising how everyone is seeing extremely quickly the cost of living rising fast, a hearty and tasty family dish, I'm sure many will appreciate your visionary dishes for so many families apprehensive seeing their pound buy so much less and wages not keep pace, P.S. I still use your frozen herb cube to this day. Take care and thanks again Mike Jones
I've seen some top chefs say you should always buy whole tinned Toms as they tend to be better quality than chopped and you can break them up yourself.
Looks absolutely delish! Loving these new budget friendly recipes your are doing. Very, very clever on how to get the most amount of flavour out of a smaller range of ingredients.
I hope you know how good your content is brother. Tons of respect for how conscious of current affairs you are and make your videos reflect that and be useful and relevant, while being entertaining. I know adding the "swap out" ingredients must have been tedious too but know that its noticed and appreciated. Keep doing what you do man.

Loving your videos Adam. I'm making your ragout recipe today. I can't understand why you don't have more views either. The only suggestion I can make is to maybe spruce up your plating skills. I know everyone says they like the rustic look but I doubt it. Keep those videos coming.
Oh I bought one of those pans from aldi last year it was about 30 pound I got a Dutch oven as well so nice to cook with they hold in heat so with upto boil I move pan over to smallest ring on cooker and turn it low with lid on it soon cooks
Adam!!!!! A delicious and cheap Chorizo Stew how fabulous I think I want the bread to mop up that delicious gravy. Great suggesting putting a bit of sugar in the cheap canned tomatoes I'll be trying that for sure!!!!
@@Adam_Garratt I absolutely agree! A few years back, at our local farmers market, a Spanish guy selling Chorizo from his home village in Spain suggested a few slices fried along with a fried egg and some bread or toast for breakfast! It was amazing!
@@Adam_Garratt A tip for energy saving …but a minor one !! If you like a warm plate to eat off …bung plate on your veg saucepan or any pan cooking with for a bit to warm !! 🍻
I make something very similar to this and it’s so tasty. Its nice with rice and it will go further that way. Rice is cheap . Thanks for reminding me of this, it’s a while since I had it. Yummy xxxx
That looks so tasty if you don't like kidney beans you could use baked beans and if you didn't want it spicy you could use smoked sausage that's a nice winter stew with chunky bread or you could use veg instead of beans and it can be a soup
Now that looks tasty! A bit of inside knowledge on tinned tomatoes from supermarkets. Supermarkets often have three ranges of ingredients, budget, standard and premium where you would presume different qualities for each. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE. For marketing reasons they like to have a comprehensive range of budget items, and while the items in that range may vary between supermarkets, tinned tomatoes are invariably there. Sometimes they will shift shed loads of them and they will be the cheapest of the most inferior ingredients they can get away with, however, sometimes for production reasons, it may not be economically viable to have a dedicated 'recipe' and production run, so they will put the budget label on a tin from a better range. So shop around and try different brands. I loved the trick with coring, I was shown something similar, however since staying with a family in Serbia where they sometimes buy peppers by the sack, I was impressed to see just how quickly they cored them. Think of an oversized apple corer! Needless to say, I bought one and brought it back. It might be one of the cheapest crappiest pieces of kitchen equipment I own - but one of the most effective!
@@Adam_Garratt My pleasure, a bit of a hint is to look for very much lower shelf inches for the budget range than for those of the standard variety - the greater the reduction, the more chance there is of it being the better product. P. S. I don't know where Hubbards brand sprung from, but so far, I have only seen it in Sainsbury, and wondered if it was a marketing trick to make a budget line appear less budget?
One pot dinners are fab. Save money and saves energy too. Cost of living is sky rocketing here too Adam. Utility companies are not helping fixed income families that have to choose where to cut corners to stay comfortable and fed.
@@Adam_Garratt Also, I think I would use a can of "4 bean mix" which would solve the half and half issue? (here in Aus there's a 4 bean canned mix of red kidney beans, baby lima beans, chick peas and butter beans) I think that would do the trick!!
LOL Adam...in the southwest here in then USA it is pronounced Chorrr-ee-so...no z no th...just sayin...but every respect for different cultures always!!! Also, the Mexican Chorizo is soft not cooked or cured...in a sausage casing that is removed before cooking...fyi!!
I made this but swapped out the beans for tinned potatoes. It was really delicious.

Thank you Cheryl! 😊

I also learnt this recently. I'm not sure how true it is so maybe I'll have to do a taste test comparison
please create a playlist of these cheap dishes

Another brilliant dish, just like last week and easy to do as an after work midweek meal. Any cheaper and I may as well shop lift the ingredients.

Good to hear mate. I've had a lot of positive comments around these. It's a good litmus test for what videos people want me to make

Great looking recipe Adam. I love chorizo so I’ll def be trying this one!
It's so nice when fried. Softens it up on the inside but you get nice crispy bits on the outside
