Lol if I prepare for the MCAT the way I "prepare" for my regular exams I guarantee I'm screwed. I literally wait until the day before to review all of the material... I mean it seems to work but I know for a fact it won't apply for the MCAT. I just need someone to tell me exactly what to do plsss bc I don't know how to study
Lmao when he says he did "terrible" on a practice exam because he got a 503, mind you I'd be rejoicing to the heavens with a score like that! Great video though with lots of amazing tips!
Niccolò Machiavelli i agree with you 503 is not something to be happy about lol. you can get into some schools depending on your gpa and shadowing/clinical/volunteers but i wouldve definitely retaken that. But if a person got in with a 503 then good for them!! its not common at all and theyre definitely blessed
Thank you. You study just like me. I also like Kaplan’s material. Can you do a video how you study for the CARS section and if you read any scientific journals?
Hey Jai I think one thing that would help everyone that you could probably help us with is how to learn to read graphs or tables and get the most out of them that is where I’m struggling. If not everyone it’ll be awesome if you could message me tips tricks or so
Great video man! Quick question: if all goes right I intend to take that MCAT early 2019. I was thinking to start studying this summer. I know you said 3-4 months of study time is optimal but I’ll be super busy in the fall with biochem and other classes that I probably won’t have a chance to study then. Any advice about this?
Here's the problem: if you start studying in the summer and have to take the exam early 2019, there's going to be a lot of information you might forget during the fall semester. If you're taking the MCAT in 2019, then I'm assuming you will be applying for med schools in the 2019 cycle. Because of this, I don't think it's necessary for you to take the MCAT so early. I would advise taking the MCAT during summer of 2019, and I would start studying towards the end of your spring 2019 semester. It's most effective to study for 3-4 months and take the exam directly afterwards.
Hey man do you have a video on your entire application? Like your gpa, extra curriculars, etc? Also I have a little under a 3.0 but Im barely a freshman and still have a few ways to go before I take the mcat. Question is: if I start doing badass from here on out, not counting my extra curriculars, and get a badass mcat, what do you think my chances are to getting into a Cali med school. Sorry for the long essay. Thank you!
Jace Serrato if you can get that gpa up and do well on your MCAT, the chances are good. Just stay dedicated. Make sure to look up the schools you want to go to and see the average MCAT and GPA and try to be at or above that to have a high chance at landing an interview
Thank you for all your videos , they are very helpful! I graduated University May 2016 and intended to take a gap year and work as a scribe but life happened and it turned into 2 gap years and I’ve been working with the same physician as a scribe. I’m taking the MCAT May or June 2019 and apply to start 2020. Ideally I should start studying in December. However, I didn’t take biochem during my undergrad. Should I study just for Bio chem in the mean time to learn the content then review it later when I do my heavy mcat study? I’m not sure how to go about that. I feel that I should start studying earlier than 4 months (start now) because I graduated so long ago I forgot a lot of my Gen chem I took sophomore year and haven’t taken Biochem but I also don’t want to start too early and forget the material. I’m sorry I went on a rant but you are so personable and relatable and I’m hoping you can help guide me. Thank you :)
Noor S Jabbar I definitely think you should open up the biochemistry book and teach yourself the material for a period before studying for the MCAT. After that, just steady everything together and go through biochem again. In your situation I think studying 4 months is a good time period, just to go back and relearn the material. Good luck and lmk if you have more questions 🙂
Awesome thank you!! Tbh just watching your videos and writing you helped me understand where I stand more. Your response is super helpful! I’ll use this time to get familiar with biochem and start my mcat studying in December for everything all together! You rock!!
Jai medicine. Thanks for the informative info. If I may ask when did you apply for medical school, and do you think it's too late to apply on August.? Thanks again.
Joachin Eddi no that’s not too late, I actually took my MCAT in August and ended up putting my application in around late September. It’s definitely better to apply early but if you’re a strong applicant, applying later shouldn’t be a problem
Jai Medicine thanks so much. You videos has really given me hope and inspiration, especially when you recommend not to change how one studies. Thanks. Between, I don't have enough on my resume, other than volunteering at a clinic, and good grades. I wish to take a year off to built that. Thanks again, you're really doing a great job keep it up
im going to be a freshman in college in the fall of 2019. i have been interested in medical school forever and i want to start preparing for the MCAT my freshman year up until i have to start applying. are there any tips you could give in regards to studying and really understanding the material? and is to early to start studying?
Hey Jai, I took the MCAT once, and I got a 499. I was suffocating on the MCAT, because I was wearing an N95 mask. I had swollen fingers for three days because of how stressful the test was. I was constantly playing with my mask gasping for air. I am probably using that as an excuse, so if I had one question that I want to ask about doing better this time. Do you think it is possible for a person who has to write every detail to learn, and cannot learn by just using anki to be able to do good in medical school? Is it even possible to study in detail in medical school with all the information they give you? I heard of the summariation method, one page per power point`. Have you learned anything that could help me learn better?
Daniel Smith I think you should try your best to study efficiently for the two months and around 1.5 months in just gauge your situation and see if you feel comfortable with taking the practice tests. If you are, go for the actual exam. If not, try to spend a little more time studying and practicing
Thankyou very much Jai, I appreciate the quick response. Congratulations on getting into medical school. I've seen your other videos and you seem to have a great personality. You'll be a great doctor man, good job.
I took my MCAT the summer after my junior year. You're definitely not too late. In fact, I wouldn't recommend taking the MCAT any earlier than junior year because you won't have enough classes under your belt to fully understand your material.
Rainy Lovegood im not exactly sure what you mean by HMS, first thing that came to mind was Harvard Medical School, in which case the answer is yes . You need to take the MCAT to get into medical school unless you do a special 7 year program starting in undergrad that some colleges offer
Lol imagine showing up to the first day at med school and finding a guy this attractive in your class
I've been looking at MCAT videos for like a year and this would be one of the best ones. Short simple and to the point. Thank you!
“The way you have to study is the way you have been studying” thank you for this!
Could you do a vid on how to research and pick medical schools to apply to?
Yes I can! Ill post it within the next week
I’m currently studying for my MCAT and this was a great video for motivation and calming my nerves #selfdoubtcentral. Thank you!
Bisma Zulifqar self-confidence>self-doubt you got this! Good luck
You will be more ready tomorrow than today. So true. Progress over time.
You are fine.
If I don't ace my MCAT I'm blaming u
prathijamusic is this real? THE prathijamusic? I’m flabbergasted
Jai Medicine yes. Bow down bish
The hell with you... I’d you don’t ace it.. blame your ass slef
Omg your are handsome. Congratulations on your accomplishment
lol thank you :)
Jai Medicine how is school going for you.
Dude awesome vid. Very concises. Dig in.
OMG thank you so much future Dr.
Congrats on the good score. Currently studying and have been studying for 2.5 months now. 5 months until my exam!
Good luck!
Thank you and good luck! It's a stressful time but you got this
Lol if I prepare for the MCAT the way I "prepare" for my regular exams I guarantee I'm screwed. I literally wait until the day before to review all of the material... I mean it seems to work but I know for a fact it won't apply for the MCAT. I just need someone to tell me exactly what to do plsss bc I don't know how to study
I'll make a video within the next week explaining exactly how I studied. Hopefully it'll help
Did you just take notes on high yield stuff for every chapter? I find myself taking a lot of notes, please help.
Very helpful. Thank you for posting this.
Lmao when he says he did "terrible" on a practice exam because he got a 503, mind you I'd be rejoicing to the heavens with a score like that! Great video though with lots of amazing tips!
Emmanuella Onwubuya lol you’re right it’s a good score but i was taking my MCAT late so it wasn’t what I was going for
503 is a bad score. The average matriculant score is 511. Think about that for a second.
Well it depends on the school you're applying to.
Niccolò Machiavelli i agree with you 503 is not something to be happy about lol. you can get into some schools depending on your gpa and shadowing/clinical/volunteers but i wouldve definitely retaken that. sogazelle hey, sorry for the late reply but lucky you, I made that exact video without even reading this! Telepathy is real
Thank you so much for this advice!! Can u share what classes helped u for the MCAT?
Hey Jai I think one thing that would help everyone that you could probably help us with is how to learn to read graphs or tables and get the most out of them that is where I’m struggling. If not everyone it’ll be awesome if you could message me tips tricks or so
Arsla. Khan that’s a good idea for a future video, I’ll keep it in mind

Great video! Did you use any other supplemental materials (for ex the KA Psych doc) other than Kaplan for content review?
Thank you for all your videos , they are very helpful!

Jai medicine. Thanks for the informative info. If I may ask when did you apply for medical school, and do you think it's too late to apply on August.?

Hey bro. 2 questions. Do you think Khan academy is complete with all of the AAMC material? Also should I study one subject at a time?
Can i buy the books now even though I didn't set a date for my exam
How did you go through the Kaplan books? Did you read one whole book at a time or a couple chapters of each book at a time?
If you do well on the MCAT, eg 92%-94%, would you take it again to try and get a higher score?
Did you go through the khan academy videos when you were studying?
Yes, a lot. KhanAcademy is an amazing resource
Hey man, I'm trying to study for the next 2 months using Kaplan. Would you recommend I elongate my time?
Daniel Smith I think you should try your best to study efficiently for the two months and around 1.5 months in just gauge your situation and see if you feel comfortable with taking the practice tests. Thank you for the reply 🙏🏼

My summer began in May
Thanks!
Did you study full time or were you also taking classes ?
🙏🏼💗
How many Kaplan practice exams did you take?
MCAT is important for the admission into 1st year in HMS?
Rainy Lovegood im not exactly sure what you mean by HMS, first thing that came to mind was Harvard Medical School, in which case the answer is yes . You need to take the MCAT to get into medical school unless you do a special 7 year program starting in undergrad that some colleges offer
