It's really a shame that this aircraft is so unfinished, particularly since it was part of the Premium package. It has so much potential. I would love to see MS/ASOBO field this out to a third party developer to finish.
Thank you for this tutorial...I followed what you said and I had a perfect flight and a beautiful landing into Klas.....I can finally fly this bird! Thanks again
Really informative and extremely helpful. Just got your tutorial, and it is amazing. Seriously. Im new to MSFS, just a month in now. Spent the first weeks getting to know the Fenix a320, but now adding the Longitude. Will spend a few weeks on it before adding the Kodiak 100. Those three planes should keep me busy for a bit. 😁 This tutorial, along with the guide save me a ridiculous amount of time. I spent so much time these past weeks stopping videos to go research where they got a certain number or information. Ive learned alot already, but still have a long way to go.
Great tutorial, however you need to work on two items: take off configuration (and speed) and landing configuration (and speed). Let’s start with take off. Set your V2 and manage it on the climb out with V2+20 max. Keep that speed until you properly climb out. Then clean up the aircraft, flaps etc. I would say that at about 3000AGL move over to acceleration (let’s say your 3000 is your acceleration altitude) and set the speed to 240 until 10,000 feet (in Europe you can set target already). Then at 10,000 change to 290 knots and as you pass about 30,000 feet you should be switching to Mach 0.8. Now landing. Generally you are doing ok, but at 2500 your should be fully configured for landing. Speed, gear and almost full flaps. Setting your speed at such low altitude makes your landing not stable. Even in manual mode you should be set. And lastly, normally we would switch to manual flight at 1000 feet ;) Otherwise, very good guide.
@@OverkillSimulations Hey thanks for videos. I am big Air Manager/knobster/touchscreen 4 monitor fan. I wonder how the G3000 will work on AM? Using a mouse or VR controller is a non-starter for me due to heavy IFR on Vatsim/pilotedge. Do MSFS G3000 touchscreens pop out? How many FPS loss? I fly XP Aerobask Phenom on Vatsim almost exclusively. Great aircraft. Looking at MSFS again, due to multi-monitor support in Update 10. Has been a crashfest so far. This Longitude looks great. Not single pilot certified like Phenom tho. Oh well, I will never tell.
Great video! I can't wait to get into the Longitude again. It's one of my favorite aircraft. Wishing you and your family the best with the Covid thing! 💚💚💚💚
Well done! I know how difficult it is to make everything right when you are recording. It's always good to learn something :=) I did, thanks for the infos!
My favorite plane in the entire sim. Only gripe is auto thrust routinely pulls the throttle all the way back and triggers landing gear warnings. Otherwise, brilliant bird
Another great tutorial. I've got a pilot friend who is just transitioning from 747 to Citation so I'll ask him if he can give us any tips. Nothing to do with you but you did remark just before landing about avoiding the trees. I've looked at it on Bing maps and the trees are just not that tall, plus they're on a slope from the river. It's a bit of a pet peeve for me as I've seen on sims so much. AFS/2 has huge trees on the end of the runway at LAX! May be time to write to Asobo
I landed in EICK several times in MSFS after one of their world updates. They turned that place into a jungle with trees on top of the threshold lights. It's a pet peeve of mine too, nowhere near what the reality is as there are no trees at EICK in real life.
I have not figured out how to set cruise level speed on the Cessna citation longitude once I get it too cruise level I usually just adjust the throttles until it's stabilizes. I've tried the speed button and hit FLC but that doesn't seem to work
Do you recommend the Premium upgrade for other aircraft ? this Longitude not available with basic package apparently... Also I see you using your mouse a lot ! my mouse feature for panning around the cockpit keeps floating back to center ? I have deleted virtually all MOUSE mappings - is there some secret ? I like the Citation in the basic package - but the one thing cannot make happen is turn off the Speed HOLD which stays on even after landing ! ?? It also provided several throttle challenges that I still cnat understand, I assume its Bill G playing with our heads again . Is the Premium any more stable ? Thanks so much.
At about 16:45 the TOGA button should arm FD and pitch up the pink aircraft to 10 degrees and show T/O in FMA. Curious if this works. Tells me if there is a squat switch.
@OverKill Simulations. I have a Logitech yoke and throttle. How do you have your thrust reverser's mapped. I cant seem to get the Longitude to slow down on landing.
The only issue I have had is when I had to make an approach change last minute it wouldn't follow it. It decided to do it's own thing so I hand flew the approach which isn't fun with a crappy Logitech 3D pro. The newer ones suck. Fortunately I have a VKB Gladiator NXT coming.
Oops, I though that you turn on the left and right battery and than the APU generator before hitting the APU and waiting for that to get up to a 100%. I guess you turn on standby power, right before the APU instead. I guess this shows, what I know. I remember watching another video, on UA-cam, where someone turn on the battery and APU generator first.
Are you able to see outside during night flight? I can barely see the runway when taxiing at night because the windows seem to be too tinted. If I stick my head outside using TrackIR everything looks fine, but from inside it's like you have dark sunglasses on.
My Longitude will not fly straight and level in Nav mode with autopilot on, it keeps banking slightly to the left and right does anyone know a fix for this. My sim is updated with the latest version but has been doing it forever (Only that AC)
This plane is a little bit maddening. I am following the guide and the video to the letter (I think!) The plane WILL NOT get to 42000 feet. When I try, it just slows down to the point where it's not climbing anymore. Then it goes into this cycle where the AT lights up yellow, the plane slows to below min. speed, and then the AT comes back on and speeds it up just a little. Repeat. I also often can't get it to more than 200 knotts, regardless of whether the speed is on FMS or MAN. Maybe I'll just wait and see if they improve this plane in MSFS 2024. Very frustrating.
Since one of the updates a while back I have an issue with the front wheels taking a long time to touch down after landing even though trim is set within reason. Any else go this issue?
Thanks for this. I am going to go through everything again. I still can't get AT to actuate on takeoff. I did not set up a flight plan but I am not sure if that matters with the AT. Also, in the OK guide you show “Verify SPD on MAN” but in the video it seems like you left speed on FMS. Yet everything worked. I am still trying to figure out which step I messed. One last thing that has me perplexed from the guide. “V Speeds - CHECK/DISPLAYED” are you referring to the VS on the autopilot? Good luck with the My Sharona Cyrus. I hope all heals fast.
Very nice tutorial. These videos are so welcome for new fsmers like myself. I tried to put your tips to practice and managed to create a nice FP from Rome to Cologne Bonn. With VNAV restrictions included, all thx to your tutorial. I do bump in to one minor issue over and over again. the message active flight plan is desynchronized keeps popping up. it does not seem to bother the AP and I'm able to click it away but it is rather annoying that the message keeps appearing. Any ideas what could be causing this message? Am i doing something wrong or is it a bug? And one more thing, i am really interested in you PDF tutorial for the citation longitude but i'm not so interested in some kind of subscription, that said i do understand you need some kind of revenue for your effort, i can only assume how much time you spend making these tutorials. So to avoid being a member for 1 month and then canceling the subscription, just to gain the PDF tutorial i was wondering if i can just buy the citation longitude tutorial separately ? as a token of my appreciation for this YT tutorial a small extra thanks is well earned.
Ok I figured it out. I missed the step where I had to downlad the updated livery [aircraft-longitudeFDEfix_OnAir]. That stinks though. This is the plain version skin. I am not sure if there is a way to incorporate my customized scheme. Again, thanks a million.
@@PyronoxOmega I am not sure. of the mod version. I got it from Overkill's original longitude video. By the way, if you get the mod, all of you liveries will work with the mod. It takes some getting used to over the stock version. Lands very slow and light relative to what I was used to but overall a good improvement.
I owe you my sincere apologies. I want to share with you that the channel owner sent me the information, even though, as far as I understand, the Longitud Tutorial is only reserved for a $10.00 subscription. I got the refund too. I am sorry for the confusion. A friendly recommendation; maybe, it would be better if the material is sold for a price. I will be OK with paying $5.00 for one single document if I am so much interested in it. I am not interested in any other similar material at the moment, but I would be happy to go for a $10.00 subscription next time. Reviewing the material sent, I highly recommend it because it is very detailed and useful. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Thanks
Too bad the flight model is so far off on this airplane, that climb rate is way higher than it should be, it's not a fighter jet..... It's such a nice airplane, really a shame that it is not really updated and fixed by Asobo..
FRUSTRATING AND MISGUIDING. You invite to become a member but NEVER SAY that to access THIS manual, WE MUST pay the $10 a month. For the $3.00, what we get is nothing about the Longitude, that is not right!. I will cancel, and I regret to register. I paid $3.00 for nothing.
