Not a mac kind of person, but I was so blown away by the performance of this little guy (The base M4 version) that I picked one up to play with emulation on! Amazon has them for $550, plus I finally got their visa card so minus $200 for the bonus, then with cashback overall only $332, crazy good computer for that money!!

I am a Mac user myself. Not to hate, but the 20 core GPU 24GB RAM mac mini is 2200$ where I live, and the GPU is integrated, with a performance of an Nvidia 2060 Graphics card (two generations ago). I'm pretty sure I can find a Geforce 4060 (not 2060) at 300$. With 2.200 $ I can build a solid current gen gaming PC or buy a decent gaming laptop which runs these games better, natively on Windows. So, whilst impressive, I'd stick to using the Mac for what it is intended. If I want to play video games, I'd just buy a Windows machine with a dedicated graphics card.

I'm impressed with how well this model handles games, thanks for testing this particular model cos I want to buy the same config :) It would be nice if you made quick recordings of a given game in several graphic settings (low, mid, high + maybe frame gen) or in one (e.g. high) but in several resolutions (1080p, 1440p).
As for the games themselves, it would be great to see tests, e.g.:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Diablo 4, maybe Silent hill 2 remake and Elden ring (generally new and demanding games). Additionally :) but I don't know if you have VR and how it works in a Mac environment (it should work on Steam), it would be great to see how e.g. HL Alyx works.

The Mini is indeed impressive, just not really sure I would choose one (especially the M4 Pro version) for gaming or emulation.
I'm in Japan, and just check Apple's website. The Mini in the video would cost 278,800円 or 293,800円 depending on whether or not the user wants 10G ethernet.
So, unless you really want a Mac, and you really want a very small factor computer, I'm not so sure many PC gamers are going to seriously consider switching to Apple. I know it's comparing apples (no pun intended) and oranges, but we're still very much comparing a computer with no way to change the CPU, memory etc. with a modular solution.
The base M4 Mini, I can understand the appeal (I actually want to buy one).
Just not a M4 Pro, especially for gaming.

The NEED for an 8K monitor is MORE APPARENT than people realise - as TWO 4K monitors side by side(as in 32:9)is a GREAT idea for(IMMERSIVE)gaming, ESPECIALLY where TWO players can play games which have vertical split screen & still have DECENT screen real estate(16:9)when doing so... Anyways, what about the 20 core's ability to handle 21:9......at......ehem......120Hz? (2560x1080p is what I use) Ultrawide is out future - why is same not represented in these tests? 🤔 P.S. DO WISH Apple would add eGPU support to their M chip Macs(where 2 Thunderbolt ports could be used together to power a 4090 for example)... 🤔🤔🤔
