Range: 150 km Top Speed: 60 km/hr Charging Time: 5 hrs to full with just a 200v outlet. Starting Price: 1,650,000 Yen, which is about $12k. We just tested the car more thoroughly, full video going live in a few days!
I don't mind the sound of the electric motor tbh, it sound beautiful imo. And the small form is actually useful for people living in cities. And the steering wheel tho, it looks like a $34.000 Toyota Innova Reborn.
I think the sound is fun too! Just sharing my observations. I think this car is perfect for a lot of uses, and the fact that it comes with a $12,000 price tag makes it pretty appealing for those in the city.
Daily drive it, use it in day to day town schedules so we can see its practicality & dependability in real world, as most things we hear from the factory reports are laboratory based and not real world based
@@jamesricks Toyota has a veritable fleet of mini electric cars by now. Beginning with the 1-seater COMS EV via Toyota Auto Body, then the 1-seater i-Road, (both with 2-seater variants), the 2-seater C+pod, and the short-lived electric iQ or eQ.
Love we've just got the Carver electric in the UK buts a bit expensive can you buy one of these or is it like the iroad and never coming to market great video BTW .
Haha probably reduced the actual range 😂😂. We tested the range in my last two videos, if you’re interested in a more thorough video, you may want to check one of those out.
Currently they are only selling them for the Japan Domestic Market. I’m not sure if they have plans to expand this model to other markets. If you are hoping to register it & make it road legal it might be a difficult task. Most JDM cars can’t be registered for 25 years, but electric cars may be different.
This is a type of car that can really help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. The US government needs to allow these vehicles to become legal ASAP. Another prime example of how the oil lobbies stifle competition.
I think this replaced it. This is a full production car available for individuals to buy. I’ve never actually seen the i-road, but I think it may have been sold to a few companies but was mostly just a prototype. Definitely want to try one sometime tho still
However, I’m not sure how much the air conditioning reduces the range. But I don’t think it should matter too much, the “battery indicator” seemed to match the kilometers we actually traveled, unlike some cars😅.
The noise you think is the electric motor actually isn't the electric motor. The actual electric motor has a very faint noise in the background, that odd sounding noise is coming from a speaker under the wheel arches to warn pedestrians that you are driving by.
What are the C+Pod specs? Range, charging time, charger type? battery type/size? Price?

@@lyimoej7198 I think I know just the test for it…
I would love to see the return of toyota IQ. THE EV TOYOTA IQ.
That and the iRoad

Believe it or not, the original design for the Toyota C-Pod, known at the time as the Toyota Pod, a concept car back in 2001, had an actual tail!
Just looked it up! So cool!
Lunch in India at reasonable price &range. Detail exterior &interior required.
This would be the most nice looking car among the size category.
I love how simple the design is!
nice video man!
Thank you!

Yes! This has been available for anyone to buy here in Japan, and they cost about $13k USD
Been looking for a review of this car
Glad you found it! Hope you get the chance to drive one!
What is price of this car ?
About $13k USD
Did it change the range when you put in the McDonald's food?
Haha probably reduced the actual range 😂😂. We tested the range in my last two videos, if you’re interested in a more thorough video, you may want to check one of those out.
I'm in NYC, and I would like to get something like
this for the right price
Nice review James. Can you feature Japanese camper van?
Thank you! That’s on my list for sure!
How good is this in wintertime
It has heated seats! But I’m not sure how the cold affects the battery life. And with the wheels being so small it probably couldn’t handle much snow
Any chance you could hold camera a bit stiller
I’ll try harder for ya.
I want to buy one. I live in the US. When will they sell these in the states?

So can you plug it in at home.
Yup! It just plugs into your standard outlet.
I need it now
It’s a blast
@@jamesricks I'm 5'7-5'8 would it be comfortable for someone my size? Or would I have to go full Hobbit?
The insulation is the reason you heard the noise. Electric motors, in general are noisy.
Makes sense! Yeah the big cars have a lot more space for noise proofing the interior. Thanks for the info!
Mitsubishi just came out with a similar car its called " Son of a Bishi"!
Haha that’s awesome 😂
Film more small delivery car, for uber driver where it has space for taking items for delivery
Thanks for the ideas!

Is this available in india
I think it’s only built for the domestic market here in Japan for now…
Please let me know how much this electric car
About $12,000 usd
Jeremy took to review a Bugatti & you got this bed bug.
What?
Is the cpod have cool ac? U kno price please?
Yes. The fans blew really strong too. Since the cabin is so small, it cooled down very fast, even when we kept opening doors for the video.

Oh ok. Probably Cherry and Wuling competes since that price but it is the great Toyota

Big in Japan 😄😆
I wonder why does this car have a steering wheel on the right ?
It’s in Japan
We have one in the world that’s like this and it’s a Smart car.
Yup. Smart cars are big next to these 😂
Costo in Lombardia?
If it is Toyota...I am buying
They last well!
Nice guy thanks
Appreciate your comment and kind words!
It's a good vehicle for major cities but if you live in Japan it would be better to just go car-free.
Depends on your needs! If your a business that needs to visit a lot of homes, or live in a smaller city being car free isn’t as easy.
Going for them Pewdiepie views eh?
Gotta love the algorithm, lmao.
You know it.
wow cute car
It’s tiny!

Where did you find that?
@@jamesricks that noise was extremely familiar to me... its the same pedestrian warning sound as on any 2019+ toyota hybrid
why everybody backs in to parking lot in japan ?
The parking spots are super narrow, and the roads too, so it’s extra sketchy pulling out backwards.
Haw can I pay I in ireland and haw mache price euro
It’s only sold in Japan, but based on today’s currency exchange they start at €11,806.83
It's a kid's golf cart.
They just added air conditioning and seatbelts and called it a car 😂
this car is definitely not meant for 6.5 🤣
Haha yeah….
I ' ve thought you are like 6 ft. 2, but if you're that high ... there are also classic cars you woun't fit !
Hills?
We didn’t test any hills, but the car is pretty light, and my wife said the power was felt pretty instantly, so I’d assume it wouldn’t be a problem!
