I have 2 KASTKing 20 I us them for trolling behind my boat.
So I want to let out the line 100 to 150 feet. The counter on both always stop counting while line is still going out?
I'm guessing it's me if it's happening to both reels?

Great video. So everything is calibrated. Then a snag breaks off 10 feet of line... Do I need to recalibrate? I just don't get how that part works because with retying knots and everything, your mainline is always getting shorter to some extent

That is a good question we will see if we can get Matt in here to answer.

If you know exactly how much broke off I would use a Uni Knot (or what ever knot you prefer) and add back the 10ft, no need to re-calibrate. However if you do not know how much really broke off, I would tie on one end of a new spool of line, leaving the other end complete (example: 100 yds new spool) I would then re-calibrate. Hope this helps

Can I hacksaw that line counter off ? They are bulky half the time they don't work or break altogether and now I have to calibrate it, give me a break no good.

Thanks Again Matt for the Information & Video.
I like to use a line counter when I'm spooling on new line to a reel.
Then I know approximately how much line I have on each reel.
Not too much line & not too short on the reel. Diameter is important also for the different sizes of Bobber Stops.
