    Always use Trade Assurance to place your order on Alibaba so your order is protected by the site, especially when you work with this supplier for the first time and establish relationship. I think you can pay by major credit cards, bank wire and e-checking through Trade Assurance. Don't ever work/pay directly to a new supplier or use Western Union, you won't be protected by Alibaba if you don't place order online.

    Directly from China is a really great business model. For bigger purchases I found Alibaba, Made in China and so on a little troublesome though, cause it mostly traders I find there, and they make soooo many mistakes. I's suggest you to try Matchory sourcing, its also free but at it gives you the real factories not the traders

    I dont think the "Recap" link is correct. It's to 'How I Interpret Amazon Sales' page, which was the same for lesson 2. I find the Recap really helpful bc I'm a visual learner and seeing it written out is very helpful after I watch the video. (I'm going through to watch all seasons)

    Once you have found your supplier and product on alibaba, what is the best way to get it through customs and to the fulfillment center?

    • @consignon5631
      @consignon5631 8 років тому +1

      EMS. And make sure it was sent from the supplier's real address. (i.e. Picked- up at their office, or factory.) Most of these 'wholesalers' (on Ali, etc.) masquerading as 'manufacturers' won't tell you where their 'location' is. The other small percentage are actual manufacturers. And 'check' (and test?) the contents before forwarding it to Amazon, or shipping it out to customers, ALWAYS!

  • @moravec481

    Seems that most Chinese factories do not provide references. Any tips
    for choosing a supplier without having to physically visit the factory?
    People typically say to just request samples, but how can you know if
    they're not just sending you a sample that is higher quality than their
    normal product?

    • @junglescout
      @junglescout  7 років тому +4

      Hey there! If you're using Alibaba, you have the option to filter suppliers by those who have the 'Gold Supplier' badge and then also 'Assessed Supplier' both which provide more credibility to the suppliers.

    Hey Greg,
    How much do shipments from China usually cost?

    • @junglescout
      @junglescout  7 років тому +2

      Liam, Great question! There is not really a rule of thumb as it depends on so many factors, like weight & size of the shipment and delivery time. Make sure when you are ready to place an order to have the manufacturer/supplier provide quotes on the different types of shipping options they have available :)
      Hope this helps !

    • @consignon5631
      @consignon5631 8 років тому +1

      Alibaba is better than it used to be, but do NOT trust anyone until you've done at least a half dozen orders, and never pay with Western Union, as you have no recourse, and ALL (paying to play) scammers have phony IDs, fake 'paper tiger' LLCs, bank accounts, etc. And many have Alibaba basic stores to sell knock- offs, in particular... so AVOID 'name brand' items, particularly electronics goods, unless you have been there and seen a real (vs. make- shift assembly line) factory. I found out the hard way that to 'trust' a (paid thousands for) 'gold supplier' is very NAIVE, indeed... and disingenuous on AliB's part to 'take money' for a false sense of trust assurance.

    • @junglescout
      @junglescout  7 років тому +1

    • @junglescout
      @junglescout  7 років тому

      Hey Fanie! It still ultimately comes down to whether you think you can make enough profit, when selling that product. If you can still make a profit you're happy with, buying it at the price that the supplier is offering - then it still may be worth it. I hope this helps! :) Happy New Year!

    IGP (Immediate Gross Profit) is not your ROI. (Return on Investment.) BTW: You'll need to stress that you're doing 'test marketing' and require a SMALLER 'sample order' initially, but intend to reorder several times the 'sample' quantity soon, then increasingly more product thereafter... These recent college grads, etc. sitting in a cubicle may want you to order 500- 5,000+ widgets the first time, but if you were doing that, WHY would you be buying from some small time 'wholesaler,' vs. finding a manufacturer, and doing a 'private label' or IP's with 'patent pending,' in China, etc.??? Alibaba has FAR fewer manufacturers, and millions of commission salespeople claiming to be something they are NOT... after their boss paid Alibaba $5k. for a 'basic' cyber storefront.

If you had used it you would know that it does give accurate information but its up to the user to turn the information into positive results, something you CLEARLY have not done. Living in negativity begets negativity. Further more, these guys dont make money from Alibaba or Aliexpress and they never claim to make $11M.
