Douglas Fir is kin to the pine tree? We've always been told not to burn the yellow pine we have here to avoid chimney fires? Is that not an issue with Douglas Fit? Thanks!
I do sometimes burn pine as well and I have had a few chimney fires in the past 25 years but I have not been concerned as I just let them burn. Although they sound scary after a chimney fire all I have really noticed is that my pipes are very clean, all my pipes are double insulated and triple where they go through the ceiling attic and roof plus I have a metal roof.

All (new) log splitters in Sweden must have a 2 hand safety leaver and the small ones even have a cage to prevent logs from flying away and bashing your face in. Looks extremely cumbersome to use. Hehe, many F about the gvnmt…
A 15ton splitter is what I have too, it's always done the job for me.
I don't remember if I have ever seen your splitter

I need a baby giraffe. 🦒
@HexagonLexicon funny you mentioned that because just last night I was telling my wife that I need a baby elephant not joking.

@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 Oh awesome! All I have is a brick chimney with a wood stove insert. No pipes!
@RC-Heli835 yes in that case chimney fire is a definite concern,I do also clean mine every few years as well.
