Really good editing on this one! That charger looks old! Time to get a modern with battery recond setting? Birches really leave a lot of leaves and sticks.
Thanks Nils yes that charger is extremely old, and yes, I keep hoping to see a decent one for cheap, but for some reason, they are never really cheap here.
Just got some snow...(in New England Massachusetts) It wasn't a whole lot. Total is only going to be about 4-5 inches. But I have a super long driveway. And when the temperatures dip (if even just a couple inches remain?) it becomes a crunchy ice mix. I do salt it, but on the parts of the driveway where the sun doesn't hit long enough (when it's extremely cold)? None of it matters, unless the snow is shoveled or plowed. And let's face it, after a while? Shoveling just becomes pointless when the snow keeps coming down. Impossible to keep up with... And honestly? It really $adds$ up to call a plow in. So I'm interested in getting an ATV with a plow, but just wasn't certain UNTIL I saw this very detailed video. So thank you man, for this video! It's a year later, but it was awesome to watch! Love the dog! Excellent scenery at the end! Not sure where this is, but I'm going to guess Canada? Either way, very nice👍 Thanks again... ✌️❄️
Thanks Jak ,and yes good guess I'm in British Columbia. I know how it can add up having to pay someone to plow when I first moved here. I did it for a winter it was brutal. So ya, any old quad is better than nothing. Not to mention it's fun gives me a reason to hang out outside in winter.
while i appreciate your making this video. you didn’t actually show a close up of the brush instillation so it sort of makes it not worth it…….i wanted to see how the wire attached to the brushes but it wasn’t clear.
The spade connectors slide into the slots shown at 230 in video.
Nice video and love to see the dog is with you all the time LOVE it : keep posting
You should do a full restoration video on this ATV. It deserves it! Don’t heat the plastic with an air gun, it gets brittle and breaks more easily. Instead rub ATF oil (DX3) on it and let it sit overnight. Wipe of the residual oil the next day. Makes it looks so much better and is easy to do. Regarding brands, Honda, Yamaha is the ones that keep value best here with Polaris and Can am close by. Cf-moto seems to work and as you said, Arctic Explorer seems to live on his and should know about how good they are. I preferred solid axle if you need to pull a heavy trailer or like power slides otherwise I believe the IRS is better. Take care!
@NilsKall I am thinking of restoring it but might have to wait until I get a new one so I am not left without for as long as it takes. Thanks for letting me know about the ATF. I will have to try that.
Hehe! Get the blade on before the snow eh!
thanks for sharing !
@alexandreblanc2842 you are welcome Alexandre,we still have no snow I have been wanting to do some plowing videos but all we have is mud.i would imagine you must have some snow by now.
@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 no snow here, we have a week of rain sadly, everything melted. Mud, so far, probable next snow in 2 days, but not much. Ground will have to freeze again. I guess we're all in a no snow zone for now...
My bucket always to the front and watch the weight go down on the truck then it tells me how much weight to go on the tongue
I am pretty sure I have a better video of loading the mini. I just re watched that video and noticed that is my old trailer. I think my mini has to go with the bucket back in order to get the weight on the tongue. One other reason for the bucket going to the back is it keeps my seat dry. However your situation may require you to put your bucket to the front. And I guess it kinda depends on where you're axels are in relation to your deck length. 😏
Hello. What year , make and model is your atv? Seems to be very capable..thank you..
It's a 2007 Yamaha Kodiak 350,and yes it is much better than my Polaris very reliable as well.
@liveworkplaywilderness1877 was wondering , cause i bought à 2000 400 big bear manual trans, with brand new plow never used by old owner, so im contemplating using it for plowing not heavy just to clean up the drive way. Cause we have contracter that does the heavy snow removal.. i think i should be ok... thank you.
@keghamstepanian yes it will work great. You might just find out that you want to plow everything.
That ATV is awesome and so is that dog!
Thanks, yes, and they are both crazy reliable. Well, maybe the dog,Ben, is just crazy.
your dog is so chill hahaha
@pw1967-i7y yes sometimes I think he is too chill ,he just won't get off the machine for hours.
@ 🤣
Love it great video , i like to see you Dog like to be with you ...
@superbee6270 Thanks, yes, he loves the quad, the first time I put him on it as a puppy he was a little scared but ever since his first ride he has loved it .now it is difficult to get him off it.
Merry Christmas!
Sound seems better now! Did you add the mine/volcano stuff at the end or did I miss that?
@NilsKall no it was already in there, also the sound was quite a pain to fix as it was a bunch of old clips. But I am thinking of upgrading my camera which hopefully will solve some issues. I'm thinking about the Insta 360 pro .
Way to go, congrats on 1000! Cool to see some of these old throwback video clips.
@CodenameCoconut thanks had major problems with sound as it was a bunch of random videos and sound is different on all.
what size engine on the ATV?
It's only 350 single cylinder
@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 wow thats really good:)
I have the same pressure washer.Have you replaced the garbage hose yet?
@404notfound..... not yet but yes that hose is terrible I will have to change it as it already is all kinked.
What log splitter is that? Good video!
@rickg2589 it's just a cheap Chinese it's called Speeco sold at princess auto here in Canada, same as tractor supply in the USA.
Buy a tractor with a plow be done in half the time
@ardencarpenter3157 I have a bulldozer with a 6 way blade but both me and my dog prefer the quad, we are not in a hurry we enjoy plowing with a quad.

@HexagonLexicon funny you mentioned that because just last night I was telling my wife that I need a baby elephant not joking.
LoL Im that "neighbour" with RWD truetrack torsen differential is so easy to push snow with a car without expensive weak 4WD system. 1,8 million kilometers on my volvo without new piston rings.
@CzMnHD 1.8 million kilometers wow that's amazing do you have a picture of it.
Winter? I see no winter there! Nice drone shot!
Yes snow has been coming and going mostly hovering around -3

Should try out the Finnish Lappi winter tires, which are made with the thread of Hakkapeliitta, not approved for road use in the EU, due to the amount of studs. Norwegian, Swedish and Finland emergency responders used them some years ago, but since they came out with regulations they had to stop using them. They are also used for WinterRally driving. Personally i use Hakkapeliitta 10 suv on every car here in northern Norway, which really hold up good. :)
Wow you guys get pretty close to the same weather as we do here in Canada, but you are definitely ahead of us in the tire technology.
And now I'm longing even more for winter. Here in northern Sweden the snow has not arrived yet. Me and my neighbor are planning a trip this winter. We are looking at a approximately 600km trip on our snowmobiles.
@PiperLund wow that sounds great I quess that would take a few days.
Stumbled upon your video. I like the style of the video. I would like something like that for my kids to ride on. Comfortable, reliable and enough to get around with. I have a newer sled that I wouldn't want them to ride. A bit too powerful and expensive.
Yes sleds are getting faster all the time, even some adults should not have some.
Douglas Fir is kin to the pine tree? We've always been told not to burn the yellow pine we have here to avoid chimney fires? Is that not an issue with Douglas Fit? Thanks!
I do sometimes burn pine as well and I have had a few chimney fires in the past 25 years but I have not been concerned as I just let them burn. Although they sound scary after a chimney fire all I have really noticed is that my pipes are very clean, all my pipes are double insulated and triple where they go through the ceiling attic and roof plus I have a metal roof.

@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 Oh awesome! All I have is a brick chimney with a wood stove insert. No pipes!
@RC-Heli835 yes in that case chimney fire is a definite concern,I do also clean mine every few years as well.
Thanks ! That helps me out a lot, and helps me to start the process. I have already spent lots on three service calls with no luck, so now it is up to me.
@MrAreone you are welcome if you have any questions just ask happy to help if I can.
I've found Yamaha products to be very reliable. Never plowed with one I may have a go this season great video thanks for sharing
@SeanGavin-on9jj I have plowed with a few machines and yes I prefer the Yamaha. I find it better all around in snow than my Polaris, and have also tried a Honda which had gears and would loose momentum when changing gears.
Thank you for sharing ! Reminds me i need to cut some small pieces as well :P Damnit, only did big stuff :P
It gets colder there than here, doesn't it, I'm not sure?
@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 we had freezing temperatures this morning, it was crazy warn on Halloween, but since then, colder.
@alexandreblanc2842 guess right now we are pretty close to the same.
Nice car man one question would u recommend upgrading from model 3 to y?
Good question the Y would most likely be better for where I live, winter driving as sometimes the snow comes right over the hood and blocks vision. The Y also has more room and is easier to get in and out of, but I do like the handling and the looks of the 3 a little better. But in all honesty, I think I still don't know. Might just have to go with the S next time.
I wandered off 18 years ago and a cougar got me. Now I’m married and have 3 kids. Gotta be careful out there.
Did you hit the camera at 6:24? 😮😂
@CodenameCoconu Ha ha you caught that.
TSC is an absolute LET DOWN. And that’s an understatement
@froyo9674 yes I am pretty sure that they had kids working on the car and the manager I delt with was absolutely terrible. I actually dred having to ever go back there again. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome plow videos here. Hard to believe your channel is <1,000 subs. I just sub'd!
@anthonyg6221 Right on thanks Anthony I'll be playing in the snow again soon but first a little firewood
Just curious why no cover for it?
@1razerful I have covered it in the past but it is usually covered in snow right after I use it which alot of times is for days straight. And I never covered it in the rain which is basically the same thing. After 18 years there is still no damage from rain or snow. I should have actually covered it in the sun as that is the only thing that has damaged it the sun has faded it.
you wouldnt do that in heavy snow tires inflated or not
Is better to plow with the storm if at al possible rather then plowing grand total snow
Yes it is faster and easier when I am able to stay on top of it, but sometimes I just wake up to it and other times I am out and come home to it. Coming home to it is the worst as I have to walk up the driveway to get to the quad.
Biggest mistake I made when I got my mini excavator was not getting it early enough! I have used it a lot and would really miss it if it was gone!
Yes, before the mini I used a 2wd Backhoe, I spent more time stuck than actually digging.
What is the purpose of the cables?
That whole mechanism makes no sense to me all it seems to do is cut the power to the motor when the throttle cable gets loose or stretched over time.
I don't know what to do with my 4 wheels ❤
@@renawells5575 I don't know Rena why not just keep them you can always get someone to help you with them😃

Pretty close to 1k now! Next year I will take down a lot of trees but this year I have hardly touched the chainsaw.
I haven't started my chainsaw either lately, and my woodshed is empty. Yes I am getting close to the 1000 ,I guess I should use the camera more I have been slacking on it too lately.
@@liveworkplaywilderness1877 I am installing a air to water heatpump that will reduce my firewood consumption drastically (I hope)
Those trees are good firewood and will clean your chimney is what they say. I think about alder trees that spread really fast. Would love to have a mini excavator here to help remove those trees.
I have never heard that before, I usually try to burn mostly Douglas fir .but I should look into it.
Service mode is handy. Shows more detail.
Funny I have always been kinda weary about putting it in service mode, I guess I should try it .
It helps to have tow truck drivers know what they are doing. In time that will change. In the meantime, EV owners will need to educate them sadly.
@shou635 exactly, the driver had told me that he had towed other Teslas, He Lied. So yeah everyone that drives a Tesla should be familiar with the towing procedure.
It stinks that a few people at a bad service center can ruin it. True for anything I guess. But would be good if you had at least one other service center for you. I didn’t take my Tesla in for service for the first for years. No issues. Right before warranty was up, took it in for a minor warranty item. My initial service center was almost 300 miles away but now have one local to me.
@shou635 Absolutely correct, the service centers are too few and far between. I wish that I had just replaced the 12v battery myself because I am thinking that would have solved the problems. So far it still has been the best car I have ever had, I have now put almost 100.000 kms on it in under two years. I still look forward to driving it every time I get in it. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you. More!
Thank you.
I was stranded briefly when charging away from home. A manual latch on the charging plug broke. We eventually worked out this had happened and worked out how to release the manual latch.
@restfulplace3273 good to know, I'm pretty sure the whole problem with my car could have been solved if Tesla would have sent a service guy to me and just changed the 12v battery.
