Great job Kelly! Congratulations on the new store. Your website is really nice and easy to navigate, as well as having lots of ukes to trigger my UAS 🤣
Kelly, great choice of song. Ohana have the knack of building something very special. Tone is always a personal choice with Ukuleles. My Ohana's are full bodied mahogany. Pleased I went that way myself. Congrats on your Store. It is certain to go well for you.
Love this Kelly. One of my all time favorite songs on my favorite Ohana. The one I own !!! I put Worth browns on it. And I like it even more. Has a nice delicate but earthy sound. If that makes sense 😂
Wow, thanks for this video! I am learning to pick. I learned the strum from you and use it on many of the songs I like to play. I have difficulty reaching the 5th fret when my other fingers are at fret 2 because I have very small hands. I currently am playing a concert size ukulele, maybe I need to get a soprano ukulele to see if that help me. Love this song.
Hi Deborah! Glad you enjoyed the video and that the strumming techniques are working well for you! Regarding reaching the 5th fret it may take a bit of repetition to get your fingers to stretch that far if you have smaller hands. You can also try rotating your wrist a bit when the 5th fret is used. If you look closely you'll see when I reach for the fifth fret I do a quick little wrist rotation to give me a little extra distance. That may help a bit. If you have a soprano they are generally about 2" shorter on the scale length than a concert. You could use one of those to practice on for a while, get the techniques down and then try it again on the concert - you may find that after a while it's possible on the concert as well. Hope that helps! Kelly
Hi there! Looks like it's first string third fret for that little hammer on. Glad you're enjoying the videos!! Be sure to join our new Facebook chat group "The Four String Strummers"! Lots of nice positive minded ukulele players on there!! Kelly
So I just picked up the uke and played this thru...are you saying 5th fret on the third string from the top? If so (I call that the 2nd string - doesn't really matter) the same note would be the 4th from the top (or 1st from the bottom) open OR the 1st string from the top (4th from the bottom) at the second fret. Hope that helps (from the top or the bottom!!) 😁
Love these old classics. And that pineapple ukulele is a beauty. Have a great week.
Thanks Lucy!! You too!!

Hi, thank you so much for your great tutorials. I have one question, in 8:09, which strring and fret is it? Regards,

I’m back working at it again. I have the little chords down but the tune of it needs much practice!
Sounds like you're making good progress! Have fun with it!! Kelly
My fingers are too short to stretch my pinky finger to third string fifth fret. Just ain’t happenin. Is there an alternative?
Second string first fret is the same note...if you're playing G try switching to G7 and hit the note there possibly
