For those who were too young to watch him when he was playing, he was truly a once in a universe type of player. Not once in a lifetime, once in an entire universe. It was an honor to watch him play the game. It's like people who are too young to have watched Michael Jordan play. You just feel sorry for people who didn't get that chance. Except Barry was different. A lot of guys could do the things MJ could do since he left the league, just not as consistently, or as stylish, or with the competitive fire to win. Barry Sanders just simply did things on a routine basis that you didn't think human beings could do. And we know that he's unique because it's still 20 years after his early retirement and there's still no one we've ever seen who could do the things Barry Sanders could do on a football field. He was an absolute marvel to watch.

He was never comfortable being the center of attention He was sick and tired of losing! The Lions front office continued to make terrible draft picks and trades and his frustration level reached a breaking point. He didn't care ONE BIT about breaking Payton's record...he wanted to WIN...PERIOD. The Lions treated him HORRIBLY during the last 2 seasons of his career. Barry Sanders' father? Did EVERYTHING right raising his son. He was Barry's biggest fan on the sidelines rooting for him for his entire career. But he never publicly gave him the praise everybody else did. He always said (in public anyways) that Jim Brown was the best running back of all time and that Barry was 2nd. TOUGH LOVE. The kind of love only great dads know how to give. Sanders' father deserves even MORE credit for raising an outstanding, humble, well-spoken human being. A son that was a once in a generation superstar who possessed strong ethics, morals and character. A son that knew how to act both on and off the field. This is something that is sadly missing in most of today's professional sports figures.

He had a good line in 91 but Mike Utley got Paralyzed during a game and Eric Andolsek had that accidental death. The was a big hit that we never recovered from.
Growing up in Michigan and witnessing this man bring the Lions from the laughing stock of the NFL to feared was amazing. Some of the best memories I have watching Football with my dad. Even though he could of ended up with Super Bowl rings on every finger playing for someone else, he carried the Lions single handedly. He is a legend

It was a real privilege to have been able to see them both on the field at the same time. But you have to admit, there are a lot of Cowboys fans that refuse to give Barry his due.

No one was or ever will be as good as Barry Sanders i put that on my life. If you want me to make a long story short, to this day he's still the only person to ever have 14 consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards. Watching this video gives me goose bumps when I see things I remember seeing live. He was always so humble when he got into the endzone. Being a Lions fan I loved watching Barry play. It’s so sad the Lions were never able to put it together with this guy. It almost brings a tear to my eye when watching this. Come to think about it, the only highlight reels I like better than this one are the other highlight reels on your channel. You knocked this one out of the park my friend. Barry sanders was the most electrifying athlete in sports history. This video captured probably 50 percent of how amazing he was. The only athlete I have ever seen in sports when he touched the ball then entire stadium went silent in anticipation of what they were about to see.

I don't care what anyone says about Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, LaDainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Eric Dickerson, or whoever you wanna come up with. No one was or ever will be as good as Barry Sanders i put that on my life. If you want me to make a long story short, to this day he's still the only person to ever have 14 consecutive games with 100+ rushing yards. He's also still the only person to rush for 1,500+ rushing yards in every season of his career.
His vision was on another level. To be able to see those cutbacks and lanes however big or small they were is insane

I grew up watching Barry Sanders and I when he retired I wasn't mad. He put everything he had into wanting to win its just the Lions organization never reciprocated. I thought it was stupid for anyone to hold a grudge against Sanders for leaving when he had to carry the team every season. When he left. I was just disappointed I was never going to see him run again. He will always be the greatest running back to ever touch a football in my eyes and I was blessed to be able to watch him during his career.

He spent most of his career taking handoffs with a blown up backfield. I remember us sitting around watching him and being like what?? How the hell did he do that?? On almost every snap he took the ball.
Best running back of all time. Hands down. I remember watching him as a kid. He'd run into a crowd, pop back out, and turn on the after burners. It's a shame he was on that team. Someone that good deserves a Superbowl ring.

Golden moments from my childhood. Going to the Pontiac Silver Dome for tailgating before watch Barry Sanders run circles around people. Watching this video gives me goose bumps when I see things I remember seeing live. He was always so humble when he got into the endzone. Handing the ball to the ref like “I’ll be back in a minute.” That man will always belong right there, scoring a touchdown. The best to ever do it.
Being a Lions fan I loved watching Barry play. It’s so sad the Lions were never able to put it together with this guy. It almost brings a tear to my eye when watching this. Barry sanders was the most electrifying athlete in sports history. This video captured probably 50 percent of how amazing he was. The only athlete I have ever seen in sports when he touched the ball then entire stadium went silent in anticipation of what they were about to see.

I've seen plenty of Sanders highlight videos over the years but by far this is the best one I've ever seen. Amazing job and hopefully after folks see this it wont be Payton or Smith or Brown but it will be and is Barry Sanders as the greatest running back of all time!!!
