As a person looking into investing in my first camera, I love and appreciate the explanation for each button on the camera and the actual testing of both video and pictures.
Your video was professional, clear and well-organized. It kept moving yet covered all the features, rather than dwelling unnecessarily on some specific point (as so many other reviews do). The accent was pleasant and soothing, without giving the impression that the speaker was doing the best he could with English as a 2nd language. This reviewer stands out among a LOT of UA-cam people who think they are reviewing a product, but are actually wasting the listener's time.
Good luck with the film. The T4i is very good for shooting films. Try and record the audio separately if you can and then sync it in post. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Pat. The answer to your question is Yes. However, there are a few things to consider 1) Your background is using a run-and-gun style video camera, the Sony VX 2100. The auto-focus on that camera is much faster than the auto-focus on the the T4i. So you will be more dependent on the manual focus ring to pull focus on the T4i. You might also need a DSLR rig with a follow focus, so you can accurately pull focus. 2) For music video (unless you are shooting live music)
the in-built mic on the T4i is not very good. Now, if you are recording audio separately and combining it in post-production, then its not an issue. If you need to use a on-board mic, consider a microphone like the Rode Videomic Pro which has a gain setting of about +20dB. Then make sure to set the audio levels on the T4i as low as possible to produce the best quality sound. Hope that helps. So do you broadcast on BTV?
Hi very informative video....One question. What is the solution to reduce the camera lens focusing voice. I make blogs and the camera noise is too aloud in the clips. Now because of this reason I am not using it anymore!! Any suggestion for reducing the lens close up nice?? You can hear this sound at 08:31 in your own clip.
I have this camera and when I'm in video and it's on auto focus it makes sound while recording. I seen in your video that it didn't when it was focusing why is that? I want to make videos and show things close up but I don't want to have to put it on manual
Thanks for this review. I have had this camera for over a year now n i have not been able to use it bc IDK how to set it up. Idk even kn how to use it.
***** We would recommend the Canon 650D. But both the EOS 650 D and Nikon D3200 are designed for semi-professional video shooting. So you should be comfortable with adjusting the exposure and focus manually to get the best results.
Hi. I'm looking at DSLRs. I'm looking on Amazon for used cameras, and I currently have a 28-135 mm Canon lens and 2 18-55mms, but I'm wondering if I should get the T3i or T4i. Which would you recommend for video shooting and nature photography?
I'd recommend the Canon T5i instead. That camera is the replacement for the Canon T4i. Here is the link to that camera on Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BW6LWO4/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00BW6LWO4&linkCode=as2&tag=reviewlamp-20&linkId=TWY5QEVZSKRUZEQJ
Just subscribed. Got hooked by your clear and/or straightforward explanation. Now tell me something, can I produce a broadcast quality video with this camera? I'm currently using Sony VX 2100 & all the stuff I made (music videos) have played on tv or local tv. I wanna buy this incredible piece but I need clarity on that. Thanx.
Tessa We'd recommend the Canon T5i, which is the replacement for the canon T4i. Here is our review of that camera: ua-cam.com/video/UIGiBq-tYeA/v-deo.html
Thanks man! I would say this camera is pretty good for anyone looking to make quality videos o put on UA-cam. Thanks for watching. And please subscribe.
I want to buy a canon dslr that can shoot good video more than photo. Which type of canon do you recommend? I see there are 650D~700D or 80D etc.. My budget is around 600~700 for camera body. Thank you!
+Nobuei Fukui For video, instead of a Canon, I'd recommend the Panasonic G7: amzn.to/22yeSbu It shoots 4K video and the quality is miles ahead of any Canon on the market.
wow! Thanks for the information and your quick reply. I also did consider about mirrorless camera. For photo is also a good option right? (Still, video will be the first thing for me.) Another question is Do you also recommend mirrorless over dsrl in general? I've found that dsrl batteries last longer, lens cheaper and take better quality both photo and video(?) Thank you so much!
Thanx a lot. I have a separate Sennhisser mic which I have been using with my Sony. Yes I have done a couple of music videos which aired on Flava Dome Programme (BTV). Been scripting a short film & I want to shoot it sometimes next year. I want an HD product & unfortunately my Sony is not HD, but its good though.
Thanks for the kind words. The gaming PCs and builds might be a possibility in the future. Appreciate your suggestion. Please subscribe to our channel.
ReviewLamp.com Hi, Do you think that that camera (panasonic) is a good option to film faces? I want to buy a camcorder for my videoblog, i need a recomendation please. Thanks friend.
I have a 350 budget...I think I am going to purchase this camera, but I will not have a lens...what is the cheapest lens that allow auto focus...or can you recommend a camera that has auto focus in video mode and that is good for astro photagraphy
+ThornzII NEW CHANNEL GAMING/VLOGS ua-cam.com/channels/LJGOI_KDYTjuKFfLOIWfmQ.html At that price, the best you're going to get is the Nikon D3300: amzn.to/1PuGO59
+ReviewLamp.com Do you know of any Canon cameras in that price range with auto focus in video mode? Would that just be the t4i? The Nikon 3300 looks nice, but I know people that have canons...so I would also like to have one, as we can exchange lens and I could ask them questions if needed...
@ReviewLamp.com. Thank you so much for this camera review. I was not very sure of best camera for video shots. It's obvious to me the camera to go for. Can this camera record up to 3-4 hours video clip non stop if I have bigger memory card size that would contain the video clip.
I want to buy professional camera. my budget is $700. should I go for Canon or Nikon. I only want to buy one camera forever. which model should I buy ??
I would recommend the Canon T5i. It strikes an excellent balance between stills and video. It's excellent for photos. Here is our review of the T5i: ua-cam.com/video/UIGiBq-tYeA/v-deo.html
This video is Spectacular! Thank you so much for teaching each portion in detail & giving a review. I'm $aving up for this camera & now I can truly say I've made the right choice. Learnt so much, thanks again! -Enjoy the cam!

Is the autofocus speed dependent on the camera, and/or the lens?
Brilliant review! Would you say that this camera is suitable as an entry level dslr, coming from a bridge camera? Thanks for the review :)
Damn I can’t believe nobody replied.
MHz damn
Does it have phone settings so u can send the photos

The only way to fix this issue it to use a quiet STM lens like this one: amzn.to/2q4wVEx

Katie Sweetland most likely due to it being new. The older it gets, the more noise it makes
I've got the same camera but have never been able to use the video setting on it as it isn't on the camera
how good is this camera for a first camera can it take good quality pictures

ReviewLamp.com Well, I'm on a budget for used cameras, and I'm not planning on paying more than $350 because I'm rather new to photography.

Great video , I think I'll spend a little more and just go for the Cannon Rebel T6i .
Which is the best canon rebel camera for photo shootings?
I really like the T3i. Is the T4i better?

Would you advise someone to do a video shooting business using only a dslr camera?
Litano Print Yes, provided you can work with adjusting the aperture, iso and shutter speed manually.

guys help me what's the diffrence between canon 650D and t4i !!!???
+Jvdj Uzbzb They're the same exact camera. Its called the T4i in North America. Everywhere else, its sold as the 650D.
+ReviewLamp.com Thanks
Did you shoot this video with a dslr camera?
