15:57 the broken water chip is an obvious reference to Fallout 1, since the game begins with your vault's water chip breaking down and your mission is to leave the vault to search for a new one, although like the Ghoul said the rule of the wasteland is that you will get sidetracked.

I think Lucy being somehow well adjusted to some of the stranger things of the wasteland fits well with the vibe the games give. In pretty much all the games, the protagonist is forced to take part in some pretty crazy things right off the bat and don't seems too fazed by it. So it is kinda fitting
It's almost like she was bred to be happy go lucky. ;-)

The thing with Maximus treating the new squire the way he does is because he was one of the guys bullying him in episode 1.
yeah everyone seems to somehow miss that even though it was very front and center, Maximus did say "i want to hurt the people who hurt me" the new squire hurt him so he is getting his payback
Yeah, I missed that when I watched the ep too and was disappointed at how quickly he became a dick. Then Thadeus said he used to beat him and I got it.

Can be easily miss since the actor is quite unknown to alot of people. Imagine the actor is Brad Pitt, I'm pretty sure I'm going to notice him.
I mean if you either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain... over 200 years is a bloody long time.
I wondered if leaving the dog behind by the gulper was a reference to only having one companion at a time.
"I can teach them Shakespeare" I assume was a Rex Goodman reference.
Gulpers were a pain in the ass in the game so I’m glad they made them just as difficult in the show
I love that they put them in the show, because I live on the island in Maine that far harbor is based on lol

The corny acting for the vault dwellers really is a choice and glad you picked up on it, good eye!
The Lucy character just fits so well its like ive been watching her on shows for years...and no she is not featured in any of the video games..

That’s a gulper by the way. It’s actually pretty nasty in the games as it can hide and you don’t know. But it’s just a mutated salamander with the forced evolutionary virus in its system. That though is based on a axolotl not a standard salamander. I’m surprised they brought that into the show as I thought the former Hollywood area became super mutant territory as the former master was roughly in that area.
Lucy's character 6:41-7:38 and the vault dwellers cheery gullible way of life reminds me of the movie: Pleasantville (1998)

The woman who plays Lucy in this show also is the voice of Jinx on Arcane. 🙂

Love the series, and especially these reactions. I said the same thing to my TV about needing keys for the suit! Oh, and "We Buy Teeth" 🙂. I'm noticing it is NOT a good thing to get attached to any animals in this show....
Lucy is incredibly naïve. She has been stuck in a hole and controlled her entire life.
I feel Like Maximus doen't know what to do and try very hard to do whatever comes to mind in that moment, Wich in the game, it could be a Low INT character, wich also means (by game logic) he gain either less experience than others or have less skill points (like in New vegas).
He was easily scammed... So yeah, the brotherhood didn't teach him the common sense of the wasteland.

Regarding power armor, there is no key or code that is required to start operating it. Much like a sword or a tool, it can be operated by any hand. That said, it seems to be a major design oversight to not have an operation code that prevents their use by others, but this has never been a feature of power armor sets in the games.
You have to unlock the fusion core with a key though
Military vehicles usually don't need a key

It's not bad acting, these are deliberate and intentional choices that play into the tone of the series, which is, if you hadn't caught on yet, a black comedy with absurdist undertones.
I liked this series. I'm glad you reacted to it! I didn't watch it til you reacted to it. The only thing I didn't like is I binged the whole thing. After watching it all at once I found the vault people annoying. And the Knight/Squire guy as weakly written. I hope this is just part of his heroes journey and he starts to kick way more ass. Plus as a person who hasn't played the games I don't know who the good guys are. So far Cooper, the vault girl, and the dog are my favorite characters.

I haven’t watched the whole series yet, and please nobody spoil anything for me yet. But I feel like Vault Tec screwed over Cooper Howard somehow? He’s currently my favorite character so far. I love the gunfighter characters in stories!
