- NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH the Gibson Les Paul 50's Tribute (2013 - 2015). Even Gibson could've made this barely different nomenclature a little easier. Anyway, here's the slightly more upmarket version of a 50's Tribute.

Hi Gary, what a fantastic instrument, I love the sound of a P90. Maybe I had a little too much time on my hands tonight but I went back to your PRS SE soapbar post and did a bit of a comparison and that SE guitar certainly gives a fantastic account of itself when you compare it to this one. The only thing that the PRS doesn't have going for it for me is that it isn't a Les Paul. But who ever makes the click is going to get a good one. Love this one it'll be long gone by October but there will be something nice around when the time finally gets here.
Hi Rod :-) This one, like many of them, isn't mine. It just came in for a restring and set-up (not that it needed much). There's always something nice around and you've waited for ages anyway so there's no rush I don't suppose. Hopefully by the time you're ready you'll have at least a shortlist, if not one particular model/colour/pickup spec etc. The P90's on this are so impressive, I loved them too. We've got another treat coming up in a bit with a rarely seen SG with a very unusual pickup selection. Cheers, Gary :-)
Hi Gary, Absolutely Beautiful sounding Gibson Les Paul Guitar! 🎸 Knock-out Sound it as with those Two P90's Pick-ups.Offering up a Great Creamy Soulful Sound. And it sure can bite too when Dialed in with those Thumb bleeder Tone Controls giving you a Great all round Combination of Sound's🎸. The Neck is just Right too, making it nice and easy to play. Standard Gibson Kluson Tuners and the year and make of the guitar clearly on Display.🎸.Keeping the guitar in Tune, nicely. And lastly the Finish. It's just Right! That's all I can say. On your guitar, the serial number starts with 10 which would suggest it's a 2010 model...
Hi Donnie :-) Gibson serial numbers use the first and fifth numbers to identify the year and the three numbers in-between denote the actual day of production. Whatever's left at the end is the number in that production run/factory ID depending on the year. They did have a few years off this format where they used the first two numbers to indicate the year and this was from 2014 to mid 2019. They then reverted to 1 and 5 for the year. Cheers, Gary :-)
The one's they did around 2010 and 2011 are by some distance the best. Thereafter following the raid on the Gibson rosewood stocks things went awry.
Hi Alfred :-) Yes, they started using Richlite for the fretboards in 2012 and the purists didn't like it. I've had it on a couple of Midtowns and can't tell any difference either playing-wise or tonally. What I do like about it is that it looks a bit like ebony with my rubbish eyesight! Cheers, Gary :-)
