Thank you once again for your support, Jayson and I thoroughly enjoy being part of the thoughtful conversations you spark!
    On that note...
... I have to chime in on the question of microbrands "encouraging" flippers by releasing small batches. As you aptly pointed out, some thinking out of the box is needed, but my take is looking at the problem from a microbrand owner's perspective. Not sure how many people realise but, from first sketch, it takes the average microbrand between 18 and 24 months to reach the viable prototype phase. On surface, without taking into consideration the specifics of designing a watch, this might not seem to bear an influence on the quantity of the final product, BUT designing a watch can't be done without a caliber to build on. This means commiting to a movement supplier and implies one of the biggest costs of the end product has to be weighed in against the projected sales. For a microbrand this can be the difference between success or bankrupcy.
So, to resume, if a microbrand finds success, that is the fruit of a bet they placed 500-700 days ago against a fickle market and evolving trends. It's just absurd to believe microbrands would encourage scalping rather than cashing in on their work.
PS: congratulations to the new inductee, Benjamin Vis! I, too, have had a recent interaction with him on a FB group and I appreciated his insight. Benjamin Vis, you're welcome to my channel anytime, mate! Aargh!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on manufacturers sticking with limited edition runs and what that says about the brand!

With the challenges you have that come with your location that affects the UA-cam algorithms as well as not having the numbers or budget to get a lot of new launches in the metal, what do you think about having a once a week video series where you do a review and history of pieces your subscribers send over to you from their own collections? That would give you a large supply of content that a large audience may find interesting.

Your rant regarding the state of the Star Wars franchise actually had me laugh out loud. Nice work, Jayson.

Jedis across the galaxy has all collectively cried out in pain. Time to move on from that franchise.

With apologies for the phone typing typos. I'm typicslly just lazily janging at the kitchen counter trying to compose some thoughts on your videos while cooking whatever meal is next for the fam. Slippery fingers and a trilingual keyboard setup don't help. I am, however, deeply honoured to be inducted into the horological pirate's hall of fame in spite of sloppy typing, and thus to be recognised for my shameless mutiny of your videos. Keep it up! I appreciate it!

Oh, one more thing: I'd rather pay attention to an educated person talking about the picture of a watch, giving me context and stimulating my synapses, than looking at some guy describing things I can see for myself and resorting to calipers and timegraphers as the be-all-end-all weapons of credibility.

Oh this is a great comment right here! 1000% that the caliper and timegrapher are not the end-all-be-all of watch reviews. Well said!

@@DesignAtelierboth you guys are doing great avoiding that, though I kinda wish I had both to just get a better handle on how brands I own fair and relate to their own given measurements, as these Dorn always correspond

Im more ashamed of this generation than hurt about a franchise i like. Im not a super fan but i loath movies now a days with shallow story telling.

Ha ha ha Jaycen. Top marks to your wife for managing to get an additional hole in the Artem Strap. She should be taken out for a nice dinner at your expense for such a feat :)

Yes, I like microbrands. I do. I like the great value for money, the willingness to take chances with different finishes and materials and designs. And I like the ability to more easily to communicate with the owners and makers.
And seriously.....this flippers topic just has to go away already. Once the money changes hands, its my watch!!!!! And I will do with it what I want. I will hoard it if I want. I will wear it if I want. I will store it away if I want. And I will sell it if I want.....for the price I want and/or the best price I can get. And its none of anyone's business. And its all completely independent of the producer of said watch. And people who can't see that simple logic.....I got nothing for you but shaking my head at you in disbelief and disgust.
You are Mr. V now. But....keep the Mr. G-Shock title too.
If The Destroyer has learned to love watches, that is a good thing. It will put your watches in peril, yes.....but it will also make it easier for you to feed your watch habit. So, I guess embrace the positives, and try to survive the co-lateral damage.
And my God if I hear that old line about "you have to have the watch in hand to review it" again, I'm going to go ballistic. Stop it already.
And yes, Star Wars is dead. Disney killed it. RIP.
I am nothing if not honest. With myself and with all my watch buddies.

Of course you can talk about a watch if you haven't held it in your hands. I mean, can you talk about a movie you just saw a trailer for but haven't seen the actual movie yet to say if you are excited to see it or are not interested? You should give full discloser about what your opinions are based off of, but this whole thing doesn't apply to anything else in life so I don't know why it is necessary here? No Timmy, you can't talk about Disney world yet, you haven't been there.
