@@Time2WatchUK yeah it’s not as clear but squeezing in the step counter takes up quite a bit of the screen. Still a great watch, apart from losing a few arm hairs 😁
Got the ABL today in the stainless steel, gotta say I love it. I was worried it might look too ‘smart watchy’ and have a big busy face but it’s true to the original and looks very retro. Unpopular opinion but I actually prefer the amber, easier on the eyes and has that retro/vintage look. I would’ve preferred a charging option rather than a replaceable battery.
@@simonuk1213 yeah I think it is a pretty casual watch to wear but will also look smart if you’re wearing the right clobber. The amber lightning is much more subtle as a colour and looks alright really. 👍🏻
@@jamesmup yeah, go for it, it’s very nice in the gold style! Check out my review of the gold one here- ua-cam.com/video/nvfaA5BF5CM/v-deo.htmlsi=1Rf4oaeDvL422mFX
Love the watch and that it’s a larger size but they missed the mark on that backlight ! Why in the world didnt they just keep it like the original ! I think that’s a game changer for me . I wanted one too
Unless you want a step counter. What's worthless and a "cash grab" to you is a watch that has the features someone else us looking for. Can your 168 count steps? No? Then this is the better choice if you want a step counter, and it's not contest - the 168 isn't even an option. Don't want or need a step counter? Then the 168 might be a better option. See, that's how it works - get the watch with the functions you need.
Definitely a great upgrade just wish they made the numbers a bit more bold like the older version

Got this one for my bday a few months ago...I love it...the bracelet is super nice
@@82seno glad you’re loving the ABL. love mine too!
I would like to see Casio G-SHOCK GD-010 SERIES | GD-010-4

Glad I stumbled upon this channel. Hope you review other step tracker watches too like the ws b1000
@@_nishantj_ oh yeah, the WS B1000 is a pretty cool looking watch and an affordable step tracker too. Maybe in the future I’ll review it 👍🏻😁
The A168 has an EL backlight, the other one is classic side illumination, which is cool and more retro.
Want it in gold.

Assupose backlight not too bad, otherwise good looking retro watch.
review gv-9400???
@@john1388 this isn’t a model on my list but you never know, in the future I may review it.
Correct me if I'm mistaken, but only A159W is still being made in Japan? Or... is this ABL-100 also JP made?...

@@_nishantj_ many thanks, glad to have ya. 👍🏻😁
Would be great if they used a metal case!
Heeeey here he is:)!!!
@@mikeyblueeyes8449 haha, good to be back 👍🏻
Not making it with a metal case and crystal glass is a crime.
@@kobayashimaruaikiken that would have been a great improvement
ill stick to A168... the other is a data and cash grab
