U don't come forward on a shorter, stronger, faster opponent, who slips & works on the inside very well! She should have been disciplined! & stayed on the outside alnight! Doubling up on the jab, in & out, & staying off the ropes! Have Claressa searching 4 her alnight! Whenever Claressa stepped forward, 1-2 & step back! Keep Claressa turning, & pop her before her feet got planted! If I were her coach, she would have won! They stuck 2 a defeated plan all fight! We witnessed the end results!

They have very sound basics skills, excellent jab and excellent basic foot work. American and Mexican fighters are just better. Usyk and Loma are the exception.

I dont see why a rematch is even thought about. Clarissa is wayyy to skilled for her I'm sorry to say that. I hate to say it I do. This was dominating and is out right foolish to rematch.

claressa was a level above hammer - no point in a rematch unless its 3 minit rounds then hammers getting ko'd - she complained to the ref ,, had nothing but a half decent jab then just tried to hold on for dear life - claressa was waaaay more skilled in every department

Shields was calling out Brakeus who's two divisions below her because lack of quality opponents in her weight class
Hammer should probably take a tuneup fight and unless she's going to go in another division there's no one else to fight

Women's MMA started the same way, Cyborg dominated so long because lack of opposition not lack of opponents
You can get a girl to get in the ring but not of the quality to do it
Rousey vs Tate happened for title fights in two different organizations because there was no one else to fight
Now women's MMA is growing and as it's growing the once dominant champs are being put away
Same goes for men's MMA in the beginning no one could touch the Gracie's but the more fighters came in and the more the sport evolved the more legit challenges and challengers came and Gracie's could no longer rely on just their art
Whereas men's boxing has more fighters than either MMA or female boxing counterpart
Women's boxing has been behind for quite some time
Now it's rising and rapidly
In the near future women's boxing will have that level of opposition to it to entice the fans
Holm long time champ went MMA due to money and lack of opposition, Hardy stated the same issue in joining MMA
These are all prizefighters and are fighting for belts and titles but ultimately money
No big fights against quality opponents then no real money
As long as women continue to box, more woman join in boxing and it's helped so much with the Olympics including women's boxing and the competition of women's MMA we will see more fights against better opposition and if the money is there you can believe women from MMA would jump to women's boxing
Why train to fight for $500 when you can make $5000?
The thing here though Hammer needs to elevate her game to make the necessary adjustment to beat Shields this time
She can keep her style, upright, jabs and inside holds but rather than Wlad Klitchsko she'd be better off fighting like Tommy Hearns
Now that would be within her style and would make a hell of a fight
In Europe ( Germany) they fight cleaner once they hold the ref breaks it up.. Obviously hammer thought here in America it would be similar and that's why she held and expected to get respect .. But she didn't, she had to keep fighting, her complaining didn't help.

Hammer held shield the entire fight. She wasn’t boxing she was holding. Both great boxers but sheilds is overall a better fighter.
Shields was the better fighter but I don't blame the lady for wanting a rematch she know she will lose but she's just trying to get paid what's wrong with that ?
