For a 2-time Gold medal Olympian, her technique is far from the elite caliber of skills we typically associate with fighters of such an esteemed pedigree. Even has a pro, Claressa style throws like an amateur. She just wails away, compared to Hammer who uses sound fundamental Boxing & throws crisp Jabs & has solid footwork too.
Rarely sets up anything & besides Gabriel who put Claressa on her ass with an Uppercut that she's always open for (which Hammer puts nicely behind her Jab), I can't name another opponent who posed any threat for her to overcome.
The one common opponent between them was Tori Nelson & Hammer won more decisively & with superior Boxing than Claressa did. 2 different styles against the same opponent. Both went to a UD but Hammer controlled Tori better & held her to a lower punch connect output than Claressa did. That was the result of sound Boxing vs trading blows.
