Just imagine for the rest of us who had seen two different iterations of Clark Kent/Superman before this show came on.....to me this is still the new series....
This show shaped my early adult life in how we handle adversity, tragedy, and knowing that hope, kindness and perseverance can overcome our many struggles in this life. My favorite part was that Clark in the face of all those challenges wouldn't compromise his morals or his hero code and always did the right thing, even if it meant his own destruction.

Fortunately, I've also related to certain Superman/Supergirl actors who have both dealt with siilar hardships. That being Christopher Reeve with his paralysis and Laura Vandervoort who has dealt with meningitis over the years. Both appeared on Smallville.

One of my close friends had been pushing me to watch this show since it premiered. In 2005 my wife and I nearly died in a car accident and I was laid up for months after. My friend showed up with the first 3 seasons on DVD, sat down and told me “guess what you have time to watch now?” So we sat there and binged like half of season one that entire day. If you want to know what the continuation is, they did it as a comic series branching out a lot more to the point where Chloe gives birth to her first kid
Tom was a solid clark kent, wouldnt want it any other way, but rosenbaum...played his character to perfection. expertly done. and it wasnt just the big, important scenes. it was every scene. he executed the gray area character so well, it almost didnt matter what bad things he did, you still wanted him to redeem himself, still wanted to give him another chance also I thought Tom was better in moments when his character was angry, etc. he does "bad guy" best imo
Yup. John Glover was an incredible asset to the show. Glad they kept him on as a series regular. Without him, it would've been a five season series tops.
You saw how evil Lionel was and understood why Lex was always destined to be a villain. If Clark told him his secret Lex would have exploited it in later seasons.
I'm a huge fan of Michael Rosenbaum since Smallville and I love his podcast, Inside of You. He talks about the industry to mental health and every day things with other celebrities. They guy is great. Tom Welling, what can I say about the actor who took the role of a Kryptonian trying to figure out who he was, with all the powers he was gaining, while being taught to be a decent human being. He made the series such a success and captured the essence of a powerful being who was destined for greatness. These guys are two of my favorite actors and I'm so glad that Smallville is returning in animated form starring them two
I'm Gen Z but I grew up watching Smallville while it was still on air from the age 5-12, it was one of the highlights of my childhood, I would just rush home from school and first thing I would do was put on the tv and watch the show.
Hearing the part about watching it with a family member who is no longer here....got me. Me and my dad used to watch this show every week till he couldn’t anymore. He passed away about 16 years ago to cancer and never got to see the ending of the series. He loved this show and the time we spent watching it means so much to me now. Thank you smallville cast and crew for the entertainment you gave us
I feel the same way about how he never came clean with Lana. I understand not trusting people but that's the love of a lifetime, some people are worth the risk. It was incredibly frustrating to see that he never realized that. As for Lex, Clark's secret is what pushed him over the edge if Clark had told him it would've just been a whole different show.
@@thecomedian6322 Well he did try and tell Lana a couple of times. If I remember correctly he had intentions of telling Lana, then Pete got beat really bad from an investigator trying to find out Clark's secret and Pete ended up having to move away and that dissuaded him from telling her. Then he told her and it got her killed and Jor-el rewound the clock and then he lost his dad because of it, so to be fair, it really wasn't meant for him to tell her, but for her to find out herself.
The first episode I watched because of Kristin Kreuk, but quickly got hooked. This was an awesome show, one of my all time favorites. For me this show is right up there with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
The show started when I was in 6th grade and my sister was a freshman. I remember all her guy friends rushing home to watch Smallville instead of hanging out after school just to see Lana 🤣
I think tom welling is the one of best superman actor ever if not number one he fits clark kent and his smile says it all it shows his feelings and emotions and potential and personality and willing to have humor
This show stole my heart; I was eleven when it first aired and I was 21 when they ended it. Tom, Michael, and Kristin made that show; I loved everything about it. Loving Superman & Lois right now, a worthy spiritual successor to Smallville. Otherwise, I will get my hands on that bluray set and show my kids a show they weren't able watched back in its heyday, but now they can see what I loved so much about it. Just an amazing series; hands down one of my top five TV series of all time.
Smallville is what introduced me to Superman and made me love him. I was 8 years old when it began and 18 years old when it ended. Tom, Kristin and Michael did indeed make the series. Had so much heart and soul to it. Superman & Lois is certainly a great spiritual successor with all the similar themes, plotlines and characters it has brought to it. You certainly should get the Bluray set to show your kids. It is such an iconic, timeless series.
@@Wolverine1987 That's possible, I haven't seen that one yet. I own the first season and I want to watch it soon. But are the relationships and psychology as deep as in Smallville?
Smallville was and still is amazing. A coming of age story about Clark Kent and his journey to becoming the Man of Steel. As a teenager when the show first broadcasted in the US so much of the show resonated with me. From his inadequacy in social groups because he is going through changes, unrequited love, teenage defiance. It was ahead of its time and not many shows have come close in my opinion. Plus the soundtrack was awesome.
It still boggles my mind that this series is 20 years old. I was 8 years old and I remember watching the pilot when it first aired. Insane, but so cool.
Awwwwe Clark, he's so Clark. And he gave up his powers just to be a normal father loving his family working the farm. Perfect ending for smallville😭😭😭😭
Are you kidding?… The Crisis ending was awful. Literally made the 10 years of trials, learning and growth that Clark made in Smallville irrelevant. The whole show was about him becoming Superman, not a normal guy.
He didn't nessesarily gave up his powers. He's suppressing them with blue kryptonite. The only issue I have with the ending is that Clark would not give up on saving people. That's his purpose.
Michael is such a smart a** 🤣🤣🤣 hilarious to watch Tom's reaction. They're like brother's with Tom trying to give a serious answer and of course Rosenbaum has to be sarcastic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Hate to say it but Smallville now looking at it after I finally watched the show for the first time 4 years ago it had better versions of characters then in other shows that we have today!
I am watching again now and are on season 3.I am still as exited as i was all those years ago.For me this is still the best series of superheroes of all time and today its still holds his ground.
My entire 7th middle school (20 years ago) language arts class, boys and and girls, were in love with "Lana" aka Kristin. She is smoking hot. Life was simple back then. No youtube. No wifi. No fancy technology. The entertainment thing to do was watch weekly episodes of fun TV shows and GOING OUTSIDE. Smallville was super fun.
There is only one Superman - Tom Welling. And Michael Rosenbaum was also greatest Lex I ever seen. And that tension between Kristina Kreuk and Welling...legendary. And when i thinking now...like almost whoel casting was perfect. One of the best casting in TV show ever.
I was 8 years old when Smallville first premiere on tv. I saw the first episode on tv. It came out one month later after 9/11. At that time everyone needed Superman and a hero that we could all look up to. It blew my mind away to see a tv show were Clark Kent is not Superman yet and we see him growing up slowly getting one super power at a time and going through puberty. Michael Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor ever. I like how they becomes friends then eventually become enemies.

@@pauld7777 Speak for yourself. Smallville at its worst was just as awful as The Flash or Arrow at its worst. There was some truly dumpster fire seasons. We just give it a pass due to nostalgia. 10 years from now, fans will do the same for Arrow and The Flash when comparing it to whatever new superhero show is on at the time.
@@ozamrani22 Arrowverse started off well with Arrow and Flash. Supergirl added in later. Maybe CW got carried away with the success that it thought it can do just about anything, and that's when the shows there started to go downhill.
Smalleville was my favourite show of all time, I ma now 47 years old , literally i watched every single episode, smallville i feel brought superheroes back to television you should be soo proud of your show
These two are working on an animated continuation of this series. Hope it works out
Source?
@@PhilletPhish Tom and Michael are the source they talked about it a few time !
@@PhilletPhish they said it themselves in various interviews this week promoting the blu ray 20th anniversary release of smallville
If you want to know what the continuation is, they did it as a comic series branching out a lot more to the point where Chloe gives birth to her first kid
@@ladyfantistcreations mhm but they are now working on an animated series based on that and beyond
Tom was a solid clark kent, wouldnt want it any other way, but rosenbaum...played his character to perfection. expertly done. and it wasnt just the big, important scenes. it was every scene. he executed the gray area character so well, it almost didnt matter what bad things he did, you still wanted him to redeem himself, still wanted to give him another chance
also I thought Tom was better in moments when his character was angry, etc. he does "bad guy" best imo
Yup. John Glover was an incredible asset to the show. Glad they kept him on as a series regular. Without him, it would've been a five season series tops.
did he ever nail that role
You saw how evil Lionel was and understood why Lex was always destined to be a villain. If Clark told him his secret Lex would have exploited it in later seasons.
I still watch it from time to time
I'm a huge fan of Michael Rosenbaum since Smallville and I love his podcast, Inside of You.
Thank you smallville cast and crew for the entertainment you gave us
I spent YEARS yelling at this show! "Just tell Lex the truth!" He already knew! Ughhhh....
Same! Lol
Same here! 🤣
Smallville had the greatest soundtrack hands down ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really miss this show. Such a great cast. I can't believe it's been 12 years since the finale!
Best Lex ever. By far. Not even close
10:00 I love that they gave answers and didn't just do the cop out "Nah I wouldn't change anything"
This show shaped my life. My son is named Clark becuase of Chris Reeves and this show. Happy 20 years, Smallville!
So great to see these guys again after all these years. Smallville is top-notch.
The first episode I watched because of Kristin Kreuk, but quickly got hooked. This was an awesome show, one of my all time favorites. For me this show is right up there with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.
Same! This is what I always say yassss
The show started when I was in 6th grade and my sister was a freshman. I remember all her guy friends rushing home to watch Smallville instead of hanging out after school just to see Lana 🤣
20 years hard to believe it's been that long already.
The best cast on a superhero show. They were all perfect: best Clark, Louis and Lex ❤️
Smallville pushed a lot of programming to level up. It was the beginning of television being just as exciting as movies.
Here SMALLVILLE🇪🇸Spanish ARMY...Great Memories
The best TV show of all time, with the best Lex Luthor ever.
Rosenbaum was a better Flash
I agree 💯
Agreed.
It's a great show no doubt but it's not even the best CW show, that title goes to Supernatural
@@Wolverine1987 That's possible, I haven't seen that one yet. I own the first season and I want to watch it soon. But are the relationships and psychology as deep as in Smallville?
"Somebody saaaaave me" 🎵 It was the best of times
Smallville was and still is amazing. A coming of age story about Clark Kent and his journey to becoming the Man of Steel. As a teenager when the show first broadcasted in the US so much of the show resonated with me. From his inadequacy in social groups because he is going through changes, unrequited love, teenage defiance. It was ahead of its time and not many shows have come close in my opinion. Plus the soundtrack was awesome.
I still watch this everyday on dvd . Micheal so handsome. My crush
As much as I love Superman & Lois.
Nothing can beat Smallville.
Is that the one from the 90’s? If so, that was more comedic.
@@miamitten1123 No I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Lois and Clark.
I'm talking about Superman and Lois on the CW.
Somebody Saveeeeeeeeee Meeeeeeeeeeeeee
It still boggles my mind that this series is 20 years old. I was 8 years old and I remember watching the pilot when it first aired. Insane, but so cool.
No crush will ever surpass the crush I had on Tom welling every Thursday I’d be parked in front of my television watching this show 😩😍
Me too girl me too🙌🏾🙌🏾 lol
for real
This show had some of the best casting ever.
It took 20 years, but crushing over Lex and not Clark finally proved itself.
Awwwwe Clark, he's so Clark. And he gave up his powers just to be a normal father loving his family working the farm. Perfect ending for smallville😭😭😭😭
Are you kidding?…
The Crisis ending was awful. Literally made the 10 years of trials, learning and growth that Clark made in Smallville irrelevant. The whole show was about him becoming Superman, not a normal guy.
@@lazyhazy7 he had his fill after he started a family and wanted to be normal like his father, pretty Clark fashion on the show (Smallville)
Happy 20th anniversary Smallville and my childhood. 😊
Tom and Michael was and are the best duo for DC. Michael was just amazing i live his Character. Tom was just perfect for the role
Hate to say it but Smallville now looking at it after I finally watched the show for the first time 4 years ago it had better versions of characters then in other shows that we have today!
yup. most of the shows today are just trying to capture the success of Smallville without understanding why.
Absolutely.
@@danzwku agree
Like whom lol
I am watching again now and are on season 3.I am still as exited as i was all those years ago.For me this is still the best series of superheroes of all time and today its still holds his ground.
I loved Tom Welling as Superman. He needs to come back
He hated doing it apparently
Tom didn't wanted to be Superman (wear suit and cape), just Clark Kent.
Clark Kent*
He wasn't superman, he was Clark Kent
Superman became my favorite superhero because of Smallville!! It's the greats superhero show of all time
"Always hold on to Smallville." RIP Jonathan Kent....the best Jonathan Kent on screen John Schneider!!! Him and everyone made that show so special!
You made me think the actor died 😬😬
@@evil1989pl lol, nope he's still alive and kicking but his character died though! Haha
I am now 21 years old and I’m a huge comic fan, this is still ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER!!!!
Watched the show for the 12th time last week probably going to watch it again now that I’ve seen this
You watched over 200 episodes in a week? Somehow I doubt that
Having them on Dvd or Blu-Ray is definitely worth it, Hulu doesn't do the show justice.
Happy aniversarie my serie favority I LOVE smallville ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My second favorite show of all time
tbh rosenbaum is the best live action Lex luthor performance.
There is only one Superman - Tom Welling. And Michael Rosenbaum was also greatest Lex I ever seen. And that tension between Kristina Kreuk and Welling...legendary. And when i thinking now...like almost whoel casting was perfect. One of the best casting in TV show ever.
is lovely to see all these people after so many years
I was 8 years old when Smallville first premiere on tv.
The best part of the series was the intro, the intro still gives me the chills 😌❤️👌
Thanks for ALL Smallville!!!
They both aged well man I miss theses' guys.
I’m 27 now and still watch Smallville clips and re-runs regularly, thanks for the fun memories all!
