I hate it when the wives slap and punch their husbands. I wonder if they’re encouraged to do it or something as it happens so much. It’s just so gross.
''The New Newlywed'' later went to an all cash wagering-format that was used until the show passed the torch to Paul Rodriguez, a Mexican-American comedian who took over the show when Mr. Eubanks continue to focushosting ''Card Sharks'' on CBS daytime until the series finale in 1989.
Did you know, Teri Ann Linn (her last name changed to Anderson now) is currently working as a real agent now and she went to school in her native Hawaii and guess what her classmate was??, Barack Obama.
The whole premise of this show is lost on most people, especially the couples. They think that the one giving the second answer is wrong when they give the "wrong" answer. If you listen closely to the beginning of the show, it's the person giving the first answer who is supposed to "predict" their spouse's answer...so the person with the cards is the one giving the correct or incorrect answer. It's a great show though.
it wasn't online! My parents taped it on their VHS back in PA while we lived in Calif for 6 short months (military). I transferred the VHS to DVD then uploaded it to you tube. took awhile and quality isn't that great but so glad so now I can easily share it anytime someone wants to see it

I'm not married. If I were and my wife and I were on this game show, I think I'd have a strategy worked out. No matter what the question, give an uplifting answer. For example, if it were me, on the question about the one thing the wife cooks (a bit presumptuous that the wife does the cooking) that I'd hate the most, I'd say something like: "Well, she's a great cook. However, last week she did burn her chicken casserole. We had to go out at the last minute."
Mr. Redford you sound like me. I want to praise my wife, not embarrass her and make her feel bad. My late wife is an excellent cook, while I am a lousy cook.I guess we think alike. We love our wifes a lot.
@@nancywalker1325 His wife is a knockout. She is extremely attractive. If I had a wife like that I wouldn't want another woman. She married a jerk. She should divorce him.
Every game show had their own "Vanna" around this time, thanks to her success on 'Wheel of Fortune.' This revamped version of 'The Newlywed Game' was an attempt to Vanna-cize the show, and it failed. This is a show whose format didn't require such, as the couples were the star, and Eubanks didn't need any help from a model. You don't fix what ain't broke.
They even tried another "trick" that pretty much never works on game shows: adding celebrities. The prize model role was filled by a guest celebrity for a bit. Didn't really add anything.
Even though this was in syndication,NBC had control of most of the game shows at this point including this one. The original Newlywed Game was ABC network, the next reincarnation was CBS but in syndication.
